2018-03-18 Thread Daniel van Vugt
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1747568 ***

Invalid in this context actually means "not a bug in Ubuntu, but maybe
still a bug". It does not mean the issue does not exist, only that it's
not a bug originating from the Ubuntu archive.

We have to use Invalid only because no better status exists in
Launchpad.

Well... It doesn't sound like it's fixed & certainly not invalid.

If it still doesn't work when using updated versions of packages
available in those PPA's, it's not really fixed.

Is there a way to mark it as duplicate instead?

The good and the bad news is that this crash is still not common enough
to show up in the top 100 gnome-shell crashes on errors.ubuntu.com. Not
even in the top 100 gnome-shell crashes of 16.04.

But it sounds like the duplicates here contain more useful information,
thanks John.

[Bug 1756508] Re: Gnome-shell cpu load dramatically high and stuck high with Eclipse

2018-03-18 Thread Daniel van Vugt
I thought the issue with Firefox was resolved by a Firefox update (bug
1696305).

Regardless, let's keep one bug per problem. Make this bug about Eclipse
only right now.

[Bug 1756547] Re: Some strings cannot be translated because of an error

2018-03-18 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
I opened a bug task for Launchpad itself.

I also picked the Czech .mo file, which was stripped during the build of
gnome-shell, and uncompiled it. And indeed it includes msgstr[2]
entries.

[Bug 1754425] Re: Lots of pcieport and nvme kernel errors - system non-responsive

2018-03-18 Thread tom
Very bizarre development. Woke from lid close 3 times perfectly in the
past few days. Today, blinked black and barely-visible-for-an-instant
cursor for over 60seconds, so i force reset. attaching apport logs.

** Description changed:

If I open the lid, it seems that the computer flat-out doesn't wake up.
HOWEVER, if I wait patiently more than 20 seconds, and press (not hold)
the power button, SOMETIMES, the computer will "snap out of it" and come
back to my desktop. Although RAM is 25% used, and CPU usage is around
25-50% or less (depending on apps), mouse will regularly freeze up for
some seconds every 10 seconds or so. Wifi will claim to be "on", but
there aren't any networks in the "select network" dialogue. Turning wifi
off and then on does not fix this problem. So I'll be in this terrifying
state of non-responsive every few seconds computer, with no ability to
reconnect to networks and report bug.

I force restart. The first restart, upon login, will hang indefinitely
on a purple screen with the cursor in the middle. I will have to force
restart again. Upon 2nd restart, it will boot "normally".

[Bug 1756547] Re: Some strings cannot be translated because of an error

2018-03-18 Thread AsciiWolf
I think this is rather a Launchpad issue. The msgstr[2] is commonly used
in GNOME pofiles in our (Czech) language and for example in this case
the msgstr[1] and msgstr[2] for "%d years ago" are different. I manually
edited and uploaded the pofile, feel free to review it.
