[Bug 1776002] Re: Bug when switching between users

2018-06-09 Thread SYN-2009
Unfortunately I do not know the name of the package. If an error occurs,
no proposals are sent to send the report. I described it as I see it. I
can add that at the same time there arises a message that authentication
is not passed, although the password is entered correctly. In earlier
versions of ubuntu this did not happen. I gave Launchpad.net the license
for 1 week.

Thanks for reporting this. I can confirm it with ibus-mozc and
LibreOffice. Same problem with ibus-libpinyin. (I think I only tested
with gedit, where it works, before making the change...)

Even if Wayland is not default in Ubuntu 18.04, this regression is too
serious to be acceptable. I'm going to reverse the change.

[Bug 1701047] Re: Renaming of conf file fails

2018-06-09 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
** Description changed:

  [Impact]
The fix of wasn't accomplished properly.
Renamings of conf files weren't addressed in maintainer scripts, upgrades from
previous versions fail in this respect, and the package system generates
warning messages.

The problem has been reported in Debian, and the purpose of this bug
report is to keep track of the progress.

  [Justification]
This config file is broken in xenial and will still be broken on upgrade to
bionic, which means the fonts in question will not be available to the system
as intended if the user has upgraded.

+ [Test case]
+ For each of
+ - fonts-beng-extra
+ - fonts-deva-extra
+ - fonts-gujr-extra
+ - fonts-guru-extra
+ - fonts-orya-extra:
+
+ * Purge the package if installed and clean up possible leftovers
+ due to the issue.
+
+ * Install the Xenial version of the package and find that the symlink
+ in /etc/fonts/conf.d incorrectly points to a directory.
+
+ * Install the version in bionic-release and find that the attempt
+ to fix the issue fails
+
+ * Install the version in bionic-proposed and find that it fixes the
+ issue and that the symlink now correctly points to the conf file.
+
  [Regression potential]
Because this modifies maintainer scripts there is possibility of introducing
a regression that will cause the package to fail to unpack.

[Bug 1761554] Re: [bionic] Extended characters in GNOME screen keyboard don't get entered

2018-06-09 Thread Nicolas Schmitt
I feel like the update im-config 0.34-1ubuntu1.1 bugged out ibus-mozc on
Wayland.

I'm getting crashes in LibreOffice---and in some other applications
(Gnome shell search bar), the candidate window is not showing up. It
was definitely working at some point before this update.

Could be that I'm wrong about this update causing this, I'm not really
sure ... Someone else experiencing similar issues?

[Bug 1776013] [NEW] systemd-networkd: DHCP lease lost (Ubuntu 18.04)

2018-06-09 Thread Wladimir Mutel
Public bug reported:

I have a Linux router whose external Ethernet interface is configured from
ISP's DHCP server.
After its migration from Ubuntu 16.04 + ifupdown + isc-dhcp-client to Ubuntu
18.04 + netplan.io + systemd-networkd, I noticed that systemd-networkd plays
overly fairly when it can not get a timely renew response from ISP's DHCP
server: it honestly removes the dynamic IP from the interface and restores
(often the same) IP only when ISP's DHCP server gives it a proper response
again. Which causes 1..5-minute pauses in Internet availability since my ISP's
DHCP server is for some reason flaky, i.e. it can become unresponsive for some
periods of time. I never noticed this problem with isc-dhcp-client, and started
noticing it only after migrating DHCP client role to systemd-networkd.
The question is, can I (or you) make systemd-networkd DHCP client behave more
relaxedly ?
I know that most DHCP clients (isc-, pump, dhcpcd) at some stage of their
development decided to implement such relaxed logic, i.e. to keep
last-configured dynamic IP on the interface despite the lack of responses from
DHCP server. As this is easier to implement than to make ISP staff fix their
services, I would suppose there should be some knob in systemd-networkd
settings. Or, at least, an idea to implement something similar in the future.

[Bug 1776000] [NEW] gnome-control-center says "no bluetooth found" even though bluetooth is present and somewhat usable

2018-06-09 Thread Rolf Leggewie
Public bug reported:

I am running bionic and the gnome-control-center on the bluetooth tab
tells me that "no bluetooth found" and that I should plug in a dongle to
use bluetooth. My computer has built-in bluetooth.

I believe I am seeing what's being discussed at http://gnome-
apps.13852.n7.nabble.com/No-Bluetooth-Found-Plug-in-a-dongle-to-use-
Bluetooth-td68467.html especially the message by Bjørn Forsman, dated
Dec 31 2016.

workaround from #4 does no longer seem to work in bionic. How can this
be so screwed up in an LTS?

[Bug 1766137] Re: [regression] Password accepted but login fails (blank purple screen and mouse pointer only)

2018-06-09 Thread HouseSessions
Hi,

I'd like to test too - though being new here - can I (to avoid to switch
to proposed repo) just download and install the AMD64 .deb files listed
under proposed / 3.28.2-0ubuntu1.2 ?

thanks,
br, Koen

[Bug 1766137] Re: [regression] Password accepted but login fails (blank purple screen and mouse pointer only)

2018-06-09 Thread Jehandan Jeyaseelan
Hi,

Tested the fix again - 3.28.2-0ubuntu1.2 on a fresh install of Ubuntu
18.04 LTS.

I went through all scenarios:

a) Login initially with incorrect password then correct password - Pass
b) Login by entering incorrect password multiple times then correct password -
Pass
c) Created a second user (User B) then switched to that user entering correct
password - Pass
d) Switched back to User A entering correct password - Pass
e) Switch between User A and B multiple times - Pass
e) Switched to User B entering incorrect password first then correct password -
Pass
f) Switched to User A entering incorrect password first then correct password -
Pass
g) Performed logout of User A, then unlocked User B with correct password - Pass
h) Performed logout of User B, then logged in to User A with correct password -
Pass.

Fix now works perfectly. All good.
