[Bug 1791936] Re: GNOME system-monitor cpu graph color does not update or persist

2018-11-23 Thread MD
When assigning in reverse using only custom colors as you suggested (32
down to 1), it somewhat works, although not really (there are stray
colors that are not changed at all).

When assigning even somewhat out of reverse order, colors revert back to
what they were originally set to.

The colors still are not saved on exit.

Furthermore, launching from the terminal (gnome-system-monitor) reports
no errors, and one warning:

Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.avail/53-monospace-lcd-
filter.conf", line 10: Having multiple values in isn't supported
and may not work as expected

Ubuntu Dock is derived from Dash to Dock and abides by the same
settings. You can change the transparency setting from the terminal
with:

gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock transparency-mode

[Bug 1799293] Re: gnome session: Must ask twice to lock the screen

2018-11-23 Thread Eugene Lazutkin
It affects me as well. But:

1) I have no auto-login.
2) I have no Dash to Dock installed, so I cannot even try the workaround from
#7.
3) It is 100% reproducible.
4) If I don't lock the screen manually (that is with Win+L) everything works
properly.

In general, I have a feeling that after locking my Gnome instance is
duplicated (one running inside of the other overlapping each other?) ---
hence the need to lock twice and the left panel is not auto-hiding
anymore, and most of the top indicators are missing.

[Bug 1799947] Re: [radeon] Application windows in 18.04.01 go black but launcher is still visible

2018-11-23 Thread Paul Chambre
Took me a while to figure out how to enable Wayland. Apparently
WaylandEnable needs to be set explicitly to true in custom.conf to
appear in the login choices. Running with it now... One thing I can say
is that it seems to have fixed a problem where my entire Gnome session
would crash when I tried to open a 10MP JPG.

[Bug 1804786] Re: Garbage occurred when Playing the video in the Ubuntu Desktop Guide

2018-11-23 Thread Doug Smythies
On my desktop 18.04 computer this happens for all the videos that I have
tried (3 of the 5 so far).

And yes, the web versions seem to work fine, which suggest to me that
this is a yelp problem and not a docs problem.

[Bug 1804785] Re: aborts/fails without colord daemon installed/running

2018-11-23 Thread Lenin
obviously i rebuilt the package dropping things that cause problems for
my setup (we do not want user to have network-manager), nor do they get
sudo. so still i consider it a bug to not run just telling colors not
available in the gui.

attached if possible. Those issues are usually video driver bugs though

[Bug 1804785] Re: aborts/fails without colord daemon installed/running

2018-11-23 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report, that's a bit weird that you could remove
colord though since that's a depends of gnome-control-center

Could you give the output of those commands?
- dpkg -l | grep colord
- dpkg -l | grep gnome-control-center
- dpkg -S org.freedesktop.ColorHelper

the title is also misleading, the error indicates a missing schemas
which is a file on disk, having the service not active doesn't prevent
g-c-c to start

[Bug 1803059] Re: Nullpointer dereference

2018-11-23 Thread Sebastien Bacher
** Description changed:

+ * Impact
+ Evince segfaults on some pdf documents
+
+ * Test case
+ Download and try to open
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=138927 with evince, it shouldn't
segfault
+
+ * Regression potential
+ Nothing special to test, make sure evince still opens pdfs without issue
+
+ -
+
System Info: Linux zero 4.15.0-38-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 10
  10:59:38 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Evince version: GNOME Document Viewer 3.28.4

While fuzzing evince v3.28.4, on linux 4.15.0-38-generic (Ubuntu 18.04
LTS), a null-pointer dereference was observed, initially this was
reported to evince but the evince team advised that the issue is in
poppler, the library used by evince to render PDF, poppler version:
0.62.0-2ubuntu2.2 is vulnerable to null-pointer dereference, however the
issue is already fixed in poppler 0.70, but this will still crash your
evince v3.28.4 in ubuntu if poppler is not updated to v.0.70.

Fuzzing result showing a very important vulnerability in a package
currently shipped by a major Linux distribution is still of interest,
even if that Linux distribution does not package the latest released
upstream version. I think Ubuntu is still using,

  Source: poppler
  Version: 0.62.0-2ubuntu2.2

So, most of the systems will be affected to this issue.

[Bug 1264899] Re: typing anything into terminal causes traceback error

2018-11-23 Thread Paul White
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some
time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.
Your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates.

It would help us a lot if you could test on a currently supported Ubuntu
version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the
updated logs by running only once in a terminal:

apport-collect 1264899

and then change the status of the bug back to "New".

Please add any additional information that you think might be relevant.
Alternatively, please confirm that this is no longer a problem and that
we can close the bug report. If we do not hear from you this bug report
will expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu better.

[Bug 1804465] Re: Nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance_cast when searching on Dingo

2018-11-23 Thread Xavier Guillot
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1804260 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1804260

Thanks for the answer.

I well made 2 reports on the windows opened after the crashes when asked
to do it, but it didn't open Launchpad, I got no confirmation bug report
was sent, and when searching before creating a new bug, nothing similar
appeared, that's why I made the screenshots.

Perhaps it would be useful to add a confirmation that crash report has
well been received ?

[Bug 1803807] Re: Lock screen doesn't hide the screen contents

2018-11-23 Thread Jeffrey Davenport
@andrasvetoprivate I found out that this is caused by the Ubuntu Dock
extension. However, this extension builds default settings into another
existing extension called "Dash to Dock" I recommend installing Dash to
Dock instead and customizing the settings to match that of Ubuntu Dock.
That has resolved my screen locking issues with Ubuntu Dock.

To install:
1. Go to your Software center
2. Click on the search bar and type in "dash to dock"
3. Click install
4. Click Extension Settings and play around with them.

Yes, removing the change from the SRU would resolve the problem,
weirdly. Though without fixing the bug.

That fix doesn't appear to be merged upstream.

Why are you not comfortable about what I proposed?

I will remove the change from the SRU, then.
