[Bug 1876286] Re: Evolution reports "Error performing TLS handshake: Internal error in memory allocation."

2020-06-04 Thread Dimitri John Ledkov
** Description changed:

+ [testcase]
+
+ $ gnutls-cli --priority=NORMAL:-VERS-TLS1.3 pop.verizon.net:995
+ [...]
+ - Status: The certificate is trusted.
+ *** Fatal error: Internal error in memory allocation.
+
+
When Evolution checks my verizon.net account it displays the message
"Error performing TLS handshake: Internal error in memory allocation"
and doesn't download any new email messages. This started happening two
days ago shortly after updates were applied. Normally it would download
the new email messages. Searching the web I found a Linux Mint forum
with users having the same issue. Some users felt it maybe an expired
certificate while others thought it might be related to the recent
update. What can I do to get more information about this issue?

[Bug 1881553] Re: Cannot load webpage. webkit crash and also affected midori which use webkit engine.

2020-06-04 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To
help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921,
reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

Out of curiosity, is this something that you are able to reproduce, or

After moving or removing ~/.config/monitors.xml I was able to log in.

Could you show me how to do that? Ubuntu's apport did not automatically
catch a backtrace for gnome-shell/mutter.

I don't know how to do it in Ubuntu. Maybe this page can help:

[Bug 1717923] Re: 17.10 GNOME: Unable to log in: invalid monitor configuration, Logical monitors not adjecent

2020-06-04 Thread Daniel van Vugt
This looks like an issue that was fixed in 20.04 this year. Can anyone
confirm if it still happens on a fully updated 20.04 system?

[Bug 1881973] Re: Update to 3.36.3 and SRU it

2020-06-04 Thread Albert Lee
This is reported to fix a regression in a previous gnome-shell version that
causes crashes when the screen locks for users of some extensions and is the
source of a large number of bug reports:

[Bug 1880806] Re: Gedit unable to save preferences on 20.04

2020-06-04 Thread Balazs Gyurak
There aren't any errors on the command line. Which portion of the
journalctl log would you need? The complete log from boot, or just when
I start gedit?

The reason I'm asking it that the boot logs contain some personal
information that I would need to redact if you need the whole lot.

Thanks

[Bug 1882034] [NEW] cannot start X session with NIS account

2020-06-04 Thread Fabien
Public bug reported:

When login with a NIS account, X does not start, or more precisely it
starts and exits immediately.

Only errors in logs is:
(EE) systemd-logind: failed to get session: PID 4335 does not belong to any
known session

X11/gdm login works fine with local accounts.

SSH/terminal console login with NIS accounts works fine.

/etc/X11/Xwrapper.config:
  allowed_users=anybody

I've seen several reports of such problems under other versions (eg
19.10), but no working solutions was found. It seems that the problem is
the same with lightdm.

[Bug 1824874] Re: undismissable, unclickable authentication dialog left on screen (top-left corner) after policykit authentication [pushModal: invocation of begin_modal failed]

2020-06-04 Thread trent--
Same problem here after the 20.04 update.
The dialog appears after wake from suspend state, and looks like the screenshot
in #3.
Alt+F2, "r" makes the dialog disappear.

I don't have a Yubikey.
Anything else to check, config files, log files ?
