[Bug 2035016] Re: one of 3 monitors "frozen" when a window moves there

[Bug 2037017] [NEW] Sharing tab hangs gnome-control-center
Public bug reported: On the Ubuntu Desktop for Raspberry Pi current Mantic beta images (with gnome-control-center version 1.45.0-1ubuntu1), on a Raspberry Pi 4B, switching to the "Sharing" tab hangs the application (presenting the Force Quit / Wait overlay prompt). Worse, re-launching the application simply re-opens the "Sharing" tab resulting in another hang. A workaround for now is to launch the application from the command-line, forcing initial selection of a different tab, e.g. "gnome-control-center info-overview". Launching the application from the command line with "gnome-control- center sharing" also causes the hang, but unfortunately there's no additional console output to shed any light on the situation. I'm not sure if this is Pi specific (haven't attempted it on any other platforms yet). ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: raspi-image rls-mm-incoming ** Tags added: raspi-image rls-mm-incoming -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2037017 Title: Sharing tab hangs gnome-control-center To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/2037017/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 2036957] [NEW] [mantic] Nvidia GPU not detected using on-demand
Public bug reported: Hi, Laptop: Legion with Intel + Nvidia 3070 gpu I reported https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2033735 but I realize this could be a GNOME (including gdm?) issue. That's not a hardware failure as W11+hdmi is working with on-demand. That's not Nvidia-535 related since I get the same bug using Nouveau. - Using Nvidia dGPU: all is ok (well, in a X11 session!) - Using dynamic graphics: --- Nvidia gpu is not listed in g-c-c system details (only Intel gpu is listed) --- App menu's option to launch with dGPU is missing --- HDMI monitor is not detected When I boot, I notice in gdm's screen that my monitor is not activated (full black). It is when I use Nvidia dGPU-only mode. So that's not only a GS stuff, as far as I can see. [Bug 2035016] Re: one of 3 monitors "frozen" when a window moves there
Here's another journal from the boot after the one before, with the same settings as before (I've set MUTTER_DEBUG_TRIPLE_BUFFERING=never but not yet rebooted). My primary display should have multiple hangs in the last couple of minutes here. I unwisely fullscreened a YouTube video in Firefox, and recovered by replugging my docking station. This repeated a few times, with a LUKS unlock prompt sometimes stopping it from hanging until I dismissed the dialog, until I hit Esc to de-fullscreen the video and replugged one last time. I think my secondary display might also have hung at some point during this boot, but I forget. ** Attachment added: "a journal from several single-display hangs in one session" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2035016/+attachment/5702630/+files/journal-redacted.txt.zst -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2035016 Title: one of 3 monitors "frozen" when a window moves there To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2035016/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

.config/user-dirs.dirs is rewritten at boot and logout/login and xdg- user-dirs-update after correcting the file and logout/login does not re- create the folders. It's not nautilus-dropbox since removing it does not stop the error from occurring. Attaching a log from a boot where before rebooting I had corrected user-dirs.dirs. When I logged in, my changes were gone and the folders were again links to themselves. Interesting, thats 3 monitors on an Intel GPU. I can't see any errors that would lead to a freeze, but the second last CRTC to be used there (CRTC 182) does seem to have been using fullscreen direct scanout on its last frame. It also looks like mutter is intending to display the cursor on that CRTC for subsequent frames but no calls to the kernel were made to do so. The common theme here seems to be fullscreen direct scanout was used before the freeze.
