[Bug 60447] Re: [edgy] Workspace switcher: Maximized windows have one pixel gap
Yes, it is the panel. No, I don't think it's not a bug. It makes no sense to display a few *empty* pixel lines for the panel. It doesn't do that for the task list (which is at the bottom, in my case). And it also didn't do it for the panel in earlier versions. Re: [Bug 81977] Re: how to search for folders?
dear toby i remeber that everying is a file (i read the original unix design book... now you can guess how old i am (;-) i use the gnome GUI: i can search fine (for files and folders in my home directory) but not down from root e.g. open filesystem ctrl-f: search for grub -- 0 files found (there is a directory in /boot!) using beagle for searches for folders is not convenient, because beagle is not always up-to-date and then does not show. i suggest that the search in nautilus should work from the currently displayed folder recursively downwards and search for folder and files with a given name (allowing wildcards) - and not rely on beagle. the answer in nautilus must be correct for the time i ask. (i guess the above is a one line unix shell command...) if your system does what i describe, then i would be interested to understand where i made an error in installing (i am to ubuntu and back to unix after N years) thanks for the help and the good system andrew Toby Smithe wrote: Remember everything in UNIX is a file. -- ÐÏࡱá -- how to search for folders? https://launchpad.net/bugs/81977 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

fdi policy file is right. I download it and it is the same I keep here. The only problem I have is that if I click on the link, Firefox try to open the file (because it is xml) and only displays text nodes. So I need to right click and download. You're right for the shift on brightness value. So the laptop_panel.num_levels needs to be set to 20 in my fdi policy file. I don't have the strange problem you describe. When does it happen ? Everything runs fine, but when I select the deinterlace option for interlaced DVDs, the movie subtitles (and some picture details) start to look very pixelated. This is very annoying. They may well ask for more info which is why you will need to report it. I hope that makes it clearer for you. Yes, it's very clear now. Even more: I think it's a bug in parted libs, because gparted is only the graphic part of the program (basically), but the thinking part is parted libs, reiforced with the fact that with qtparted the problem is the same. Public bug reported: network-admin creates a chatscript that contains the modem initialization string ATFH0M0 which is invalid. First, it is IMHO not good to initialize the modem back to factory defaults without prompting the user(F). Second, if there is anything after the ATF it needs to include the profile number first. That is, ATF is valid (the modem assumes profile 0) but ATFH0 is incorrect (because 'H' is not a valid parameter for F) Note that the last statement is not necessarily correct for all modems, but I believe it is for many, and it definitely is for mine. Further, all modems which support the AT command set should accept an ATF0 -- that is, 'ATF0H0M0' should be correct in more cases than 'ATFH0M0' ** Affects: control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- network-admin generates chat script with invalid modem init string https://launchpad.net/bugs/82381 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
