[Bug 129242] Incorrect total system memory
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor System Monitor reports that my workstation has 503.3MB total memory (which is also what /proc/meminfo says). I have 512MB onboard, and a discreet graphics card so all 512MB is available to the OS. Therefore System Monitor should say I have a total of 512MB. The 503.3MB value may be technically accurate, but end users won't know/care that the extra 8.7MB is in use by the kernel. They are much more likely to know that their computer came with 512MB of RAM, and expect that to be reflected in the System Monitor. A minor thing to be sure, but I think it will improve the experience for end users. To solve this, consider parsing the output of 'lshw', which knows I have 512MB RAM (installed as 2x256MB RDRAM, even). I'm not sure what the right solution is for those systems using integrated graphics. Consider rounding up the value reported by /proc/meminfo to the nearest 16MB. Hello! Thanks for filing a bug. Can you please run this command and make rhythmbox crash, and then attatch the output? And to make sure it's not a GStreamer-bug, please run this command: gst-launch-0.10 playbin uri=file:///path/to/file and attach it's output. Now to some questions. What file format is the file in? (if it's legal, please attach the file) Can you play it in other players (Totem, VLC, XMMS)? How long does it play before it starts to stutter? When does it crash? Does it happen when any thoer file is playing? Can you clarify the sentence It's first crash on playing it, please? [Bug 129026] GNOME Weather Report custom location problem
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I decided to start using GNOME Weather Report, so I added it to my panel. However, I found out that although it included many small locations, towns, and even villages in Greece, it didn't include Ioannina, one of the 5 bigger cities in Greece (and as you probably supposed, my hometown). So, I decided to add my own, custom entry for it, at /usr/share/gnome-applets/gweather/Locations.xml so I can be aware of the weather conditions in my location. In the Greece element, I added (keeping alphabetical order) the location element, with name Ioannina, English name Ioannina, and Greek name Ιωάννινα. I added the city code, LGIO and the coordinates. I saved, and then I selected it through the GNOME Weather Report interface. But, it couldn't find any information, it couldn't update, so, it didn't display me the current weather conditions. So, please, either add Ioannina to the GNOME Weather Report, or see why it couldn't find any information. Thanks a lot, in advance. ** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- GNOME Weather Report custom location problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/129026 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
