Yes, it still happens.
But know I use Ex Falso / Quod Libet and I have nothing to complain about.
When I resize rythmbox, it the whole system clock which stops and then I

[Bug 131253] Re: Move common files of totem-xine and totem-gstreamer to a separate package

2007-08-09 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug. The use of common packages is mainly done by
Debian to not abuse mirror space, that's not really a problem for
Ubuntu, that bring no advantage to users and we don't want to divert
from Debian there..

[Bug 131266] [gutsy] Places-Recent documents does not reflect the content of $HOME/.recently-used.xbel

2007-08-09 Thread Miguel Martinez
Public bug reported:

Symptom:
Places-Recent documents does not update even though one opens several files
of different MIME types. This means that if one clears recent documents, it
will reman grayed out.

Reproducibility:
Near 100% on my system, in various languages, although not everybody suffers
this bug:

Possible causes:
As $HOME/.recently-used.xbel is being updated all the time, it is possible
that gnome-panel (I'm not sure it's this package) is not reading or parsing
properly $HOME/.recently-used.xbel.

What has been attempted:
I've deleted a remnant .recently-used on my $HOME to see if this was the
culprit, but it seems it wasn't. I've also installed more language packs to see
if this was a language pack issue. So far I've seen the same in Spanish
(Spain), Basque (Spain), English (US) and English (UK).
I've also made a symlink called .recently-used pointing to
.recently-used.xbel to see if the issue was that gnome-panel was reading the
old .recently-used instead of the updated .xbel one. It seems it didn't help.
I'm now trying to see if the issue lies with the existance of two .recently*
files.

[Bug 118745] Re: Font sizes in Gutsy are vulnerable to bad X.org DPI detection

2007-08-09 Thread Jonathan Riddell
When X can pick any random DPI there's no right answer as to what the

script which sets up a sane DPI. Install kde-guidance and restart the X

[Bug 131270] Rhythmbox downloads magnatune database forever

2007-08-09 Thread Markus Vuori
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Whenever I click the Magnatune-source in the left pane, it starts to
read magnatune directory (or database). The progressbar moves back and
for forever and never becomes ready. My colleague has the same problem.
Two weeks ago this worked well, but any longer. I've tried it several
times on different days. Restarting the application, or the whole
computer does not help, nor changing to different network.

I'm running up-to-date Ubuntu Feisty. Installed package version is
0.10.0-0ubuntu2.

Amarok loads/updates the magnatune database correctly in a few seconds.

[Bug 131280] web pages should open in new window

2007-08-09 Thread Ian Jackson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: deskbar-applet

I typed a random search string into the deskbar applet and selected one
of the web searches. The search results appeared as a new tab in one of
my existing firefox windows.

This is confusing. Other Gnome tools which open web pages open them in
new firefox windows, which ensures that the content appears where the
user can see it (on top, on the current workspace) and that the user can
close it normally and so on. The deskbar applet search should do the
same.

[Bug 131282] confusing printer status menu item

2007-08-09 Thread Ian Jackson

[Bug 131289] Allow to add and remove screensavers to the shortlist of screensaver theme

2007-08-09 Thread Pander
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

The gnome-screensaver has a list called 'Screensaver theme' which
contains a shortlist with 'Black screen' and 'Random', a separator bar
and then all installed screensavers.

At the moment the list has become so long that it takes a long time to
find, that particular screen saver you would like to see or show to
others, that it is desirable to allow the user to add and remove
screensavers to the shortlist. This can be achieved by offering the
following functionality.

With a mouse right click on a screensaver in the long list, a menu
should pop up with the action 'Add to shortlist' and when clicked that
particular screensaver will also be listed in the short list above the
separator bar. With a mouse right click on a screensaver in the short
list (i.e. not on 'Black screen' and 'Random'), a menu should pop up
with the actions 'Remove from shortlist' and when clicked that
particular screensaver will have to be removed from the short list.

Implementing this feature will allow users to more actively switch
between favorite screensavers enabling them to quickly demonstrate what
are, according to them, the most awesome screensavers Linux has to
offer. And in turn making a nice showcase for GNU/Linux.

[Bug 131288] 'Import photos' does not import photos

2007-08-09 Thread Duncan Lithgow
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gthumb

The dialog presented when a camera (or in my case camera's SD memory
card) is connected offers to 'Import Photos' but selecting this option
does not import anything - it just opens the media.

either:
a.) this specific to me and my setup or/
b.) this a UI issue

If this is an UI issue then I suggest that:

1st. The text be changed to 'View Photos' or somthing similar.
2nd. Work begin on an import function. It would only have to ask for a location
and offer an 'Always use this destination' check box.
