[Bug 118974] Re: No sane error message when downloading from invalid certificate SSL connection
The bug is bigger than this. Going to any page with a self signed certificate fails. This is on Hardy with an AMD64 processer. When doing the same in firefox (3), it asks if you want to create an exception for the self-signed certificate for this site. Epiphany otoh does no such thing and just refuses to load the page. Seems like a sane security measure, but it would be handy if epiphany would allow you to also add such certs to a list of trusted one. [Bug 212846] [NEW] [Hardy] sound-juicer should include disc number in filename
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sound-juicer sound-juicer: 2.22.0-0ubuntu1 Sound-juicer has gained knowledge of the disc number in a multi-disc set (in 2.21.3 according to NEWS.gz) unfortunately it doesn't include this in the extracted filename; this results in a very strange ordering; i.e. I have it set to create files as Artist/Disc Name/TrackNumber - Trackname - e.g. Stallman/Free songs/01 - Free Software Song.ogg Now lets say that was the first track of the first CD, when I extract the 2nd CD I would get Stallman/Free songs/01 - Guantanamero.ogg So the two discs merge together and aren't seperable; the disc number needs to be included somewhere in the file name - e.g. Stallman/Free songs [1]/01 - Free Software Song.ogg ** Affects: sound-juicer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Hardy] sound-juicer should include disc number in filename https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212846 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to sound-juicer in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 195929] Re: Cosmetic bug: rectangular white outline surrounding rounded buttons
Bruce, If you took a look at the patches, you'd see that hacks already existed in the theme engines' code (in Murrine and Ubuntulooks, at least) specifically for Firefox 2. Removing said hacks fixes the problem with button borders (GtkButton) but not text boxes (GtkEntry) in Firefox 3. Since Firefox 3 will be the default for Hardy (an LTS release), I can see the necessity to fix this cosmetic issue, even if it requires another hack (that can be well-commented, and removed in the future). -- Cosmetic bug: rectangular white outline surrounding rounded buttons https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/195929 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to ubuntulooks in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 14774] Re: [shares-admin] Shared folders requires a login
Something I discovered from trying to setup sharing in both Ubuntu and Fedora: An easy way to setup sharing is to install the system-config-samba application, which I think should be installed by default along with Samba. With that utility I was able to setup users for Samba sharing as well as easily defining my shares. I did have to log-in as root to change the permissions on the share (in my case /data), so that everyone had read/write access, but that's because I'm not proficient w/ using chmod as a sudo command. After that, I was able to map the network drive from a Windows laptop and successfully access the shared folder. [Bug 201762] Re: [hardy] Battery brightness slider gone
I would like to respectfully disagree with this being invalid / file a wishlist for the following reasons: * The feature was available in 7.10 along with the confusing and unpredictable way it worked, but it was usable and better than nothing. As an end-user upgrading I would be very disappointed if I lost this functionality in an upgrade. As far as is possible I don't think upgrades should burn people or this will foster the kind of inertia widspread in the Windows world. * I find the ability to adjust laptop brightness essential (see Alex's use case above, and add battery life). * 6.1 Screen Dim Brightness in help has been revised to remove the (I expect planned but couldn't make it into Hardy) task bar slider, but the existing text is entirely inadequate. There should at least be pointers to how to find the laptop specific (in my case sudo /etc/acpi/sonybright.sh) scripts so that advanced users can control brightness from terminal. To summarize this should be left as an open bug against Hardy and fixed ASAP. If a correct fix is too hard to provide in the next couple of months the old behavior should be reverted as an interim fix. -- [hardy] Battery brightness slider gone https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201762 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
