I do not think so:

This sounds like the connection is working, but at least creating folders not.
Somebody should figure out which actions are working and which not.

[Bug 201762] Re: [hardy] Battery brightness slider gone

2008-04-07 Thread Walter_Wittel
Chris, thanks for educating me on this! The brightness applet works
great and completely addresses my concerns about adjusting the
brightness.

Do you know if this will get turned on by default on a 7.10 upgrade? For
laptops I think it should be put up on the panel by default right along
with the volume control so it is more discoverable. Seems easier to
remove if you don't want it (e.g. buttons work) than find it if you
don't know where to look. Alternately maybe it will get covered in help
(for those who RTFM :-)

Thanks for your help, and if you feel it is warranted I'd be happy to
file a bug to get it turned on by default or added to help.

[Bug 211409] Re: gnome-display-properties shows incorrect monitor size

2008-04-07 Thread Bryce Harrington
On the other hand, with LCD's they report correctly - my BenQ 24"
monitor for example shows up with correct dimensions and matches what
it's marketed as. Maybe marketing for CRT monitors use funny marketing?

Anyway, several people have been reporting this issue; I'll leave this
bug open to dupe against. I'm thinking fudging the numbers to match
marketing data is maybe not the best solution, even if we could reliably
distinguish between CRTs and LCDs, but maybe someone will have an idea.

Anyway, moving to wishlist for now.

[Bug 213765] [NEW] Rhythmbox shuts down on first click on a radio link

2008-04-07 Thread Bigare
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I can open Rhythmbox.
When I first click on a link in radio sub menu, the application automatically
shuts down.
On a restart of the application and a click on the same link, the

twice before I ear the radio.
In order to be complete, the flow is often being interrupted after 3 or 4 hours
of listening.

[Bug 204413] Re: nautilus memory leak

2008-04-07 Thread logus
I confirm the same leak at any *.mkv (media in matroska container) file
of decent size. Small files do not cause noticeable leak, seems it's
somehow depend on file size.

Cannot detect this bug at any *.avi file, though.

Please confirm if this bug is a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/187547 (or vice
versa).

[Bug 174611] Re: gnome-system-monitor showing impossible amounts of memory

2008-04-07 Thread Zebediah49
I have this same thing happening to a few of my (I think 32 bit)
applications. Note that a small experiment with the calculator shows
that the value given (17179869180.0 GB) is exactly
((2^64-2^32)/(1024^3)) as in, it's what happens when you do
memory&0x, and memory happens to be a 64 bit hex number, with
the upper 32 bits all being ones.

If you get an application to use 100M of ram, it'll show it as
17179869180.1, etc. It's just a display-scale error.

[Bug 213729] [NEW] music-applet's pause icon turns into music player's icon

2008-04-07 Thread MetalGearRaw
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

While playing music through Rhythmbox, I click paused on the music-
applet. When I clicked play, the pause icon had become the Rhythmbox
icon (see attached screen shot). Clicking the icon will pause, clicking
play again returns to back to the same icon. If the song ends or you
click next or previous, the icon returns back to the normal pause icon.
Please let me know if you need any more information.

[Bug 101845] Re: Automounted Volumes mount points change

2008-04-07 Thread David Mauss
I used the releases of Feisty and Gutsy happily for a while without this
bug, but I installed the latest release of Hardy with all the updates
current as of today (4/7/08), and the problem has returned.

It's a Fat32 external HD, still called "Xbox", and I am now getting the
same Xbox_, Xbox__, etc.

I know I can delete them and have it return to the same mount point as
before, but it's frustrating/annoying none the less. And for programs
like gtkpod that look for an absolute path, it can be especially
frustrating to have delete the folder, unmount and remount your iPod,
just because gnome-mount isn't working properly.

Even though I didn't respond initially, thanks for following up
recently. It's good to know someone reads these things.

[Bug 213705] [NEW] (hardy) video play's slow when wireless is working on msi pr200

2008-04-07 Thread Pablo Estigarribia
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

On Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 when I can't play videos while my wireless is connected
and working, something strange happens and the video movies play's really
really slow.
If I turn of radio wireless the video movies start to working fine again. This
is really strange and I have no idea why it's working at that way.
I made a normal installation for hardy and have have up to date all the
packages.

Do you have some idea?

My computer is the small laptop MSI PR200.

All the other features for ubuntu works great !(except this and standby
feature) this realease with this laptop is amazing, after I install
Ubuntu it starts working with video acceleration, sound, webcam,
bluethoth and wireless. Thanks to all the team from Ubuntu and the
community for this.

[Bug 212084] Re: Cannot read files in a MTP Creative Zen Vision M 30Gb

2008-04-07 Thread alexandermelendez
Hi Saïvann Carignan, I read the page you said
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage but i don't know what
instructions to follow, something related to the kernel maybe? =l g

Got no idea about what would be the right package or what it is gvfs,
before searching about it i wanna ask you if i change to the gvfs the
problem is solved?

But, now that i know that the files are copy safely to the creative zen
vision the problem is not that big only that i was hopping using the
data folder as a usb but since i can't copy back is not a good idea...
thank you for your answer

[Bug 213701] [NEW] eog skips over pictures

2008-04-07 Thread jellyturtle
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: eog

Eye of Gnome frequently (but not always) skips images when navigating.
For instance, when I'm on image 34/51 and press the right arrow key, the
loading bar completes over and over for a couple seconds while the
counter goes up, (but too quickly to actually be loading the images, as
they are 3mb and usually take a second to load each), and I wind up on
47/51, or sometimes even at 2/51 again. This has happened numerous times
before. I can usually get back to the skipped ones by pressing the left
arrow key, but sometimes it skips backwards as well.

[Bug 213571] Re: Epiphany segfaults when printing to PDF in hardy beta

2008-04-07 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 184537] Re: evolution character encoding problem in "from" field

2008-04-07 Thread Hezy Amiel
I should add that since in Hebrew and in other non European languages
this bug effects all the text, not just isolated letters. This means
that the "From" field becomes unreadable rendering Evolution almost
unusable. I therefore suggest that the importance level of this bug
should be raised.

[Bug 212034] Re: F-Spot crashes? takes up a lot of resources? in slideshow mode

2008-04-07 Thread unggnu
I can confirm this with current Hardy but it is possible to kill F-Spot with
alt + tab and then close it with force quit. I can see only parts of images
after a long loading time and I never see the control bar.
I have a Nvidia Geforce 440 Go with the proprietary driver.
Standard full screen mode works fine but if I start slide show with the play
button the same happens.

I still have this problem (huge fonts on launchpad.net) on a computer I have

[Bug 213648] [NEW] run application box doesn't show slash after /usr/bin

2008-04-07 Thread Oleg
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Hello, I am using Ubuntu Hardy 8.04(upgraded from 7.10) but I have
experienced this problem since 6.06 came out.

To reproduce this "bug", press Alt+F2 and type in /usr/lib. While
typing, existing directories should be automatically auto-completed. But
when typing "lib" a forward slash is not added.

So instead of /usr/lib/ being suggested, /usr/lib is suggested instead.
