[Bug 201762] Re: [hardy] Battery brightness slider gone
Chris, thanks for educating me on this! The brightness applet works great and completely addresses my concerns about adjusting the brightness. Do you know if this will get turned on by default on a 7.10 upgrade? For laptops I think it should be put up on the panel by default right along with the volume control so it is more discoverable. Seems easier to remove if you don't want it (e.g. buttons work) than find it if you don't know where to look. Alternately maybe it will get covered in help (for those who RTFM :-) Thanks for your help, and if you feel it is warranted I'd be happy to file a bug to get it turned on by default or added to help. -- [hardy] Battery brightness slider gone https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201762 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 101845] Re: Automounted Volumes mount points change
I used the releases of Feisty and Gutsy happily for a while without this bug, but I installed the latest release of Hardy with all the updates current as of today (4/7/08), and the problem has returned. It's a Fat32 external HD, still called "Xbox", and I am now getting the same Xbox_, Xbox__, etc. I know I can delete them and have it return to the same mount point as before, but it's frustrating/annoying none the less. And for programs like gtkpod that look for an absolute path, it can be especially frustrating to have delete the folder, unmount and remount your iPod, just because gnome-mount isn't working properly. Even though I didn't respond initially, thanks for following up recently. [Bug 213701] [NEW] eog skips over pictures
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eog Eye of Gnome frequently (but not always) skips images when navigating. For instance, when I'm on image 34/51 and press the right arrow key, the loading bar completes over and over for a couple seconds while the counter goes up, (but too quickly to actually be loading the images, as they are 3mb and usually take a second to load each), and I wind up on 47/51, or sometimes even at 2/51 again. This has happened numerous times before. I can usually get back to the skipped ones by pressing the left arrow key, but sometimes it skips backwards as well. [Bug 213571] Re: Epiphany segfaults when printing to PDF in hardy beta
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 212034] Re: F-Spot crashes? takes up a lot of resources? in slideshow mode
Btw. the screensaver slide show (with the fix of Bug #208629) works without problems or high cpu usage but not the manual started one. -- F-Spot crashes? takes up a lot of resources? in slideshow mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212034 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to f-spot in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 212034] Re: F-Spot crashes? takes up a lot of resources? in slideshow mode
I can confirm this with current Hardy but it is possible to kill F-Spot with alt + tab and then close it with force quit. I can see only parts of images after a long loading time and I never see the control bar. I have a Nvidia Geforce 440 Go with the proprietary driver. Standard full screen mode works fine but if I start slide show with the play button the same happens. ** Changed in: f-spot (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- F-Spot crashes? takes up a lot of resources? in slideshow mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212034 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to f-spot in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 178558] Re: Firefox 3.0 makes everything annoyingly huge
I still have this problem (huge fonts on launchpad.net) on a computer I have updated to hardy today using firefox beta 5. monitors.xml does not exist. I had to manually change layout.css.dpi to 96 in about:config to workaround the bug - other xulrunner programs like epiphany are (well, of course) still affected. -- Firefox 3.0 makes everything annoyingly huge https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178558 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to epiphany-browser in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I don't really know about other extensions, but I certainly know one doesn't work. [Bug 213648] [NEW] run application box doesn't show slash after /usr/bin
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel Hello, I am using Ubuntu Hardy 8.04(upgraded from 7.10) but I have experienced this problem since 6.06 came out. To reproduce this "bug", press Alt+F2 and type in /usr/lib. While typing, existing directories should be automatically auto-completed. But when typing "lib" a forward slash is not added. So instead of /usr/lib/ being suggested, /usr/lib is suggested instead. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- run application box doesn't show slash after /usr/bin https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213648 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
