[Bug 216644] [NEW] set wallpaper via middle click from nautilus does not scale image
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus When I try to set an image as a desktop wallpaper like: drag an image from nautilus via middle click over the desktop the image is not scaled properly, so I have to go to the background properties and manually change the scale option for the image (fit, scale, preserve dims., etc.). It is not such big deal ,but it makes this option useless, as I always have to go the background properties window and set the image properly. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- set wallpaper via middle click from nautilus does not scale image https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216644 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 198111] Re: Evolution and Google calendar
I faced something similar. Since its really my first time, I filed a new bug report (216123) which has aptly been marked as duplicate of this one. However, in my situation, it does remember the username. And its not able to show any events at all. Basically the application just crashes. Checking gconf-editor its visible that it has tried to store the same info mentioned earlier. @Michael : The workaround you suggest was working in previous version as well, I have to say, I personally was looking forward to have the ability to publish from evolution to google as a key thing (like the calendar plugin for thunderbird provides). Thats been one big reason for me to wait for the new version of Evolution. Could one of you post the corresponding bug number or so that has been filed with evolution team (gnome bugzilla) ? [Bug 216689] [NEW] gcalctool does not display sum in display field
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gcalctool Try entering a long series of sums like '3.56+3.52+54.68+23.96+...' (I just used a bank statement as a source), for up to 20 or so terms. If you do Edit-Copy, and paste into a separate program like Text Editor, you will see the value computed, which is the correct value. This means that gcalctool is computing it correctly, just not displaying it correctly. I suspect that it just isn't scrolling the textbox back correctly. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. [Bug 151536] Re: Hangs on login and uses 100% cpu
Added a note upstream. @all: we have never been able to zero in the cause. I cannot reproduce it, so I am sort of limited. If you are hit by this: (1) please install the debug packages for E-D-S, libc6, glib, bonobo and orbit. As of right now these are the packages for Hardy (adjust as needed between i386, AMD64, etc): libbonobo2-0-dbgsym_2.22.0-0ubuntu1_amd64.ddeb libc6-dbgsym_2.7-10ubuntu3_amd64.ddeb libglib2.0-0-dbgsym_2.16.3-1_amd64.ddeb liborbit2-dbgsym_1%3a2.14.12-0.1_amd64.ddeb evolution-data-server-dbgsym_2.22.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.ddeb libegroupwise1.2-13-dbgsym_2.22.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.ddeb libedata-cal1.2-6-dbgsym_2.22.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.ddeb libecal1.2-7-dbgsym_2.22.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.ddeb libedata-book1.2-2-dbgsym_2.22.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.ddeb libebook1.2-9-dbgsym_2.22.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.ddeb libedataserver1.2-9-dbgsym_2.22.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.ddeb Of course, the equivalent .dbg can also be used. (2) please do not post GDB backtraces if the above debug packages are not installed. Without debug symbols there is *nothing* usable in a backtrace. (3) this is a loop condition, I guess everybody agrees with that. A GDB backtrace provides a *static* view of where the code was at the moment GDB interrupted it. Unfortunately, this is helpful, but not enough: I still do not know if a single thread is looping, or threads are being created and destroyed. Some backtraces show actual E-D-S code in (for example, pete's comment above, thread #3), others do *not* show Evo code. It would be helpful if one of you went through GDB in a series of (interrupt, bt full, thread apply all bt) -- this might give us more details on what code paths are being used. (4) What we need is a commonality, something similar to all. By some comments, this seems to affect people using calendars. I set myself with a google calendar, and still I cannot reproduce it. It would also be interesting to know what architecture you are running under. (5) finally, you should consider commenting on the upstream bug. -- [MASTER] E-D-S hangs on login and uses 100% cpu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/151536 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 150187] Re: [gutsy] [regression] Evince has very bad quality when printing pdf files.
@Benjamin Redelings: I can reproduce it on gutsy. I have noticed that your PDF includes T1 and T3 fonts. After printing into a new PDF (or preview) the file becomes unusable - all fonts are gone (and the filesize gets 1,2 MiB). Swistak gave me an idea: I create a perfect PDF with pdflatex with embedded T1 fonts. The file is shown in evince in good quality. When I print into a new PDF - the fonts are changed to T1C Cairo-fonts. The original ones are lost. The quality is still okay, but here we definitly see that there are some font handling problems. Note, the default setting for 'audiosink' and 'musicaudiosink' is 'autoaudiosink'. They should really be set to the default, and your sound should work fine without having to change either of these values. The upgrade broke because they were not set to the defaults. They are fairly advanced settings and most people won't change them. [Bug 154839] Re: in system monitor's preferences the refresh rate value is not saved when changed by key
I can confirm that this bug still exists in Hardy Beta. If it is a general interface bug, it is probably outside the scope of gnome-system-monitor though. Does anyone know which package to assign this bug to instead then? ** Changed in: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- in system monitor's preferences the refresh rate value is not saved when changed by key https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154839 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 3498] Re: Curses box uses wrong characters when X cannot start
Using the dialog test does not show the problem on Hardy and now BulletproofX no longer uses curses (and booting to safe mode shows a curses dialog correctly).
