[Bug 220893] [NEW] no support for videopodcast playback out of rythmbox
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Rythmbox does not support videopodcast playback out of the box. I have to go to "/home/my name" -> open the created file folder for this pocast -> start it with totem player. My critic: 1) Video podcast is not integrated in rythmbox, although there is not much difference between an audio podcast and a video pocdast. Should work in the program. 2) The video podcast should automatically downloaded to the folder "/home/my name/videos" and not into the folder "/home/my name/". 3) The video playback should be integrated in the lower left corner of the rythmbox gui. Using this corner only for showing cd covers is a kind of "overkill". ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- no support for videopodcast playback out of rythmbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220893 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 149791] Re: Black & White Video Output (Gutsy)
That's a good question. I don't think it has a good answer. Wait... Interesting... I opened a DVD on my room-mate's account on this computer but usually we use my account to watch movies. The apps in his account seem to run the color fine without having deleted any of his config files. Just now I started opening up all sorts of different media players on my account and found that some of them still have this problem and some of them don't. Perhaps all of these programs do some sort of video test the first time that they're run and create these files with 'optimal' settings but a driver has been changed and those files need to be deleted so that they can re-detect the 'optimal' settings. some of the config files I found that may be affected: .gnome2/Totem/xine_config .gstreamer-0.10/registry.i486.xml .vlc/vlcrc .gxine/config .mplayer/gui.conf -- Black & White Video Output (Gutsy) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/149791 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 220850] [NEW] ssh-agent dies often in hardy (new behavior)
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: openssh-client I regularly add keys to the agent on startup and ssh to many dozens of machines. Before upgrading to Hardy Heron, this method was rock solid. The agent and therefore my sessions would be up for days if not weeks, happily humming along. Since upgrading to Hardy, the agent dies regularly which is really really annoying. It could be related to load (if I ssh to many machines in parallel), but again, none of this behavior existed for me or my workload before Hardy Heron. Nothing found yet in logs. The seahorse-agent is still running. ** Affects: seahorse (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ssh-agent dies often in hardy (new behavior) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220850 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to seahorse in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 220864] [NEW] Double-Click "Up" Bug
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Hi, I've noticed that when I double click "Up" in Nautilus that I go up two directories in the GUI. But according to the text-based location I've only gone up one. Also, I cannot re-enter the directory that I am supposedly in (because I am already in it, but not in it... if you get my grasps). Sorry I can't explain it better than that, but I have a small video that shows it in action. You'll see that I'll go into the "/" part of the filesystem visually, but my text-location bar still reads "/home" And when I frantically click on the home menu, it won't enter the directory. Yet nautilus will happily enter any other directory before allowing me to go back. [Bug 220754] Re: ekiga freezed during audio test
Hi, If ekiga freeze, you can lunch it using gdb and hit CTRL-C when it freeze. Then you could have a backtrace. But it seems more an ALSA problem as you said. Try this simple command in a terminal to check your ALSA configuration: $ arecord -D plughw:0,0 -c 1 -r 8000 -f S16_LE - | aplay -D plughw:0,0 -c 1 -r 8000 -f S16_LE - It is an echo test using only basic ALSA tools (arecord and aplay). [Bug 190848] Re: font in terminal does not resemble font in preview
You shouldn't have to reboot, closing all terminals and open a new one works for me. Now I have three configurations in Hardy for fonts: 1. /etc/fonts/conf.d 2. /usr/bin/gnome-appearance-properties 3. ~/.fonts.conf All gnome fonts except the terminal are controlled by 2., gnome-terminal fonts are only controlled by 3.! I think there are two things that should be done: a) Cleanup /etc/fonts/conf.d: Why is it set to antialias, hinting medium, no-sub-pixel? b) Unify configs: Why does above directory exist if appearance is controlled by gnome-appearance-properties? c) Why doesn't gnome-terminal respect none of settings 1. and 2.? I _am_ a developer (vi on a notebook) and my preference for gnome-terminal fonts is antialias, hinting full, sub-pixel, rgba=rgb . [Bug 220808] [NEW] Nautilus Hangs if Open For an Extended Period of Time
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I'm on Hardy and I've noticed a problem recently where Nautilus forces me to do a force quit on it whenever one of its windows is open for a long time. I work in my home directory a lot, so when I leave my machine, I usually leave Nautilus open to my home directory. If that window is left open for a few hours, Nautilus (including the desktop and any other Nautilus windows open) freezes and the only way to clear the freeze is to continually click the close button on one of the windows until the option to Force Quit appears. [Bug 34813] Re: gedit fails to save files over smbfs/cifs
I am sure this is not a proper way to fix it but I don't know enough about gedit to trace this all the way. From what I can tell though the error spawns in gedit-local-document-saver.c and it doesn't occur in vi: if (lsaver->priv->doc_mtime > 0 && statbuf.st_mtime != lsaver->priv->doc_mtime && ((saver->flags & GEDIT_DOCUMENT_SAVE_IGNORE_MTIME) == 0)) { g_set_error (&lsaver->priv->error, GEDIT_DOCUMENT_ERROR, GEDIT_DOCUMENT_ERROR_EXTERNALLY_MODIFIED, "Externally modified"); goto out; } I've tried setting ahead and behind times on both server but I still keep getting the error.
