Every second or third time I download a podcast, after the podcast has
finished downloading and the status has changed to "Downloaded",
Rhythmbox will crash. Aport doesn't come up, no other messages.
Rhythmbox just crashes as though it was closed. This just started in
Intrep
You can get the newer kernel if you add intrepid-proposed updates to
your repositories, eg in Synaptic, select Settings / Repositories /
Updates and tick Pre-released updates (intrepid-proposed). Then close
the dialog, click the Reload button, and the new kernel should be
available as an update.

Forgot to say: I'm running up-to-date Intrepid, with intrepid-updates.
Also, I just tried switching focus-prevention-level to "Off", and makes things
seem to work correctly.
It's a useful workaround, but I'd love to this feature working. Focus

Could this be upgraded from wishlist? It is quite annoying.
Every new window created from an active window (ie not from a menu or
panel button) is started in the background. This include child windows
of active apps. This is happening to me now under both Gnome and KDE
sessions when using compiz.

change apps->vinagre->show_accels to false. That setting is described
by gconf-editor as "Set to "false" to disable menu shortcuts. Set to
"true" to enable them. Note that if they are enabled, those keys will be

OmniVision Technologies running over USB in a Dell XPS M1530) works in
cheese up to its max resolution of 1600x1200 (the refresh is a bit slow,

After a little more digging I found that the OS considers the volume
down button to be XF86AudioStop and the volume up button to be
XF86AudioRewind. Reassigning the keys in keyboard prefferences works to
solve the problem, but due to the redundant mapping loses the stop
hotkey

I installed the package again, this time it went fine, no problems.
As far as i'm concerned is my problem solved, i reported it because ubuntu
automaticaly connected to launchpad.

I am only able to change the volume using the multimedia keys on my
laptop when gnome settings daemon is running. The other keys such as S1,
AV Mode, Rewind, Forward, Stop, Play/Pause work fine with keytouch. The
volume keys on the other hand only work when gnome-settings-daem
I'm having an identical problem to Candle Jack on 8.04.1 with a Radeon
X600, also configured via "aticonfig --initial=dual-head"
I'm also unable to disable the screensaver via System -> Preferences ->
Screensaver because only a hanging grey box opens when I run it.

This bug is related to #268152.
In this other bug, you cannot delete any file in a vfat or ntfs
partition.
You know why? Because there is a security issue. If you delete a file,
in these partitions, other users will have access to your deleted files.

It's a ext3 FS, here is the fstab line:
/dev/sda2 / ext3defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
It's not a wubi installation, but an upgrade of a 8.04 installation.

In this other bug, you cannot delete your images if they are located in
a NTFS partition. And, what's even worse: you don't have the option to
erase directly (like pressing Shift-Del).

rewrite on glade and user interface between 2.22 and 2.24. I am not sure
