[Bug 276603] Re: crashed while listening to a mp3 podcast
Derek, the gvfs-http leak you mention is not fixed by this SRU but it has been fixed upstream already so it will be fixed in jaunty for sure. The patch that fixes the gvfs-http memory leak is available here: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20351735/gvfs_leak_fix.patch Indeed you can use the same repro steps as on this bug to trigger the leak. If you download 20 podcasts of 2MB each you're likely to see 40MB leaked memory in the gvfs-http process (check VIRT/RES columns in top for example). -- crashed while listening to a mp3 podcast https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276603 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

petski, I just ran the repro again on my intrepid box to make sure it still repros and it did. After that I enabled -proposed and I installed your updated package and ran the repro again and now the bug is gone. I'm not a big rhythmbox user myself so I won't do any extensive testing like duanedesign did, but I can assert that the bugfix is working on my system for sure. I am seeing this problem on Jaunty, and it is *EXTREMELY* annoying (even more annoying than people who feel the need to write in all caps). I testing this problem with Hardy, the problem is present not one system. Interesting, but CD-RW works fine with Jaunty (now I writing a test iso file with blank cd-rw media), so this is not a hardware problem. [Bug 324339] Re: Can't open a second session
This isn't a gnome-session issue. It sounds like Xorg or the kernel is freezing. Tentatively reassigning to xorg-server for now. Could you please do the following: 1. Please run sudo lspci -vvnn lspci.log and attach the resulting file lspci.log to this bug report. 2. Please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log, /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old, /var/log/Xorg.20.log and /var/log/Xorg.20.log.old files to this bug report (if they exist). 3. [Bug 278654] Re: gnome-system-monitor doesn't run in user
I have a hint about this issue. gnome-system-monitor is crashing only when opening as user the Filesystems tab. Change the following key in gconf and you'll be able to use at least the other tabs: /apps/procman/current_tab. It is set to 3 per default (the Filesystems tab). Change it to some value between 0 and 2 to open one of the three other tabs per default and it won't crash any more unless you open the Filesystems tab manually. -- gnome-system-monitor doesn't run in user https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/278654 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
