[Bug 285001] Re: totem-gstreamer starts slow when internet dies

2009-02-06 Thread Richard Beyer
So here is the thing: after uninstalling the package
gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio totem and rhythmbox work fine without lags or
freezes.

Songbird still has problems when I'm connected to my router/local net
through wireless, but without internet connection. As soon as I switch
the wireless off or activate the internet connection everything works
fine again (no restart of the app is needed).

I'm not shure what the problem is but it seems as if ether gstreamer or
pulse-audio tries to get some information from the net. Has anyone some
infos on that?

[Bug 326087] [NEW] Shouldn't Configure key for SSH chmod 0644 autherized_keys?

2009-02-06 Thread Jonas Finnemann Jensen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: seahorse

I've used SeaHorse to export a public ssh key to a server running SunOS 5.9
with OpenSSH_3.1p1, I don't know exactly how the server was configured... But
when I tried to connect the server afterwards using $ ssh server.address.com
I was still promted for my password...

However, if I logged on and chmod 0644 .ssh/autherized_keys then it would work
fine next time I logged on... Shouldn't SeaHorse chmod 0644 the autherized_keys
be default, when configuring a server to accept a public ssh key...
I think ssh on the server refused to accept the public key because it did have
the correct rights...

By the way, I don't know if I'm reporting this the right place, or if
this is a valid bug... If not just make it invalid...

[Bug 326014] Re: Rhythmbox crashes

2009-02-06 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be
dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch
nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on
the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 326059] Re: gcalctool can't divide correctly in Jaunty

2009-02-06 Thread ThomasNovin
This was using the Basic mode. I just tested Advanced and Financial with
the same result. The problem seems to be that it doesn't print the
decimal point. Since you can do 3590 / 12 and then * 12 and get 3590
again it obviously has the right numers, it just presents them wrong.

Btw, 2590/12 isn't exactly 299 but 299,16667. Used bc to calculate
and there were no decimal points there..

2009-02-06 Thread knarf
Now, almost three years after the initial bug report this problem still
remains...

I made a small patch to get rid of all traces of mini-commander in the
gnome-applets package when it is not built. If anyone knows of a valid
reason to keep the server file for a non-existent applet around please
speak up, otherwise please add this patch to the mix so those who choose
not to have their memory eaten by a disfunctional deskbar-applet still
can install an external mini-commander without having to --force-all the
installation.

2009-02-06 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include
enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs
effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be
grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems.
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 325716] Re: Document opens in another program instead of selected one

2009-02-06 Thread Calvin B.
Example:
On a windows pc, send a document created in WordPad to a linux user with
hotmail. Make sure the user had AbiWord as the defaults picked through
Nautilus. Click the attachment and open. It said AbiWord, but opens in
OpenOffice.org instead.

P.S: Epiphany is in the main repos, not universe. Epiphany is offically
supported software. It's got the little note and ribbon just like FF.

2009-02-06 Thread Howard Berry
Thanks for your reply Pedro,
This is the first time I have tried to report a bug and it is giving me some
grief. Apport is enabled, but when I repeat the action that cause the crash
it is not being picked up by Apport and no crash report is being generated-
the directory you have mentioned remains empty.
I don't know how to proceed with this now. I would appreciate some advice
from someone.
Regards,
Howard

[Bug 322153] Re: Evolution 2.24.3 hangs while fetching email

2009-02-06 Thread George Klein
I just had a similar sounding problem on Hardy. I also had to close
evolution from a terminal. I seem to have fixed it (for me at least) by
starting it in offline mode from the terminal

$ evolution --offline

This was fine and when I then went online it synchronised fine as well.

For completeness sake, I had tried going offline when it wasn't
responding and there was no response.

hth, George.

[Bug 323219] Re: glade-3: WARNING: setting an adjustment with non-zero page size is deprecated.

2009-02-06 Thread Adam Buchbinder
This bug describes a problem with the glade-3 application itself, which
I haven't yet been able to track down. Bug 323228 describes a problem
with the applications *created with* glade-3, which I was able to find a
fix for. Bug 323228 has larger implications than this one, as it appears
to be the root cause of bug 305162 and bug 315243, to pick two examples.

[Bug 74008] Re: Include the window border doesn't work by default (with compiz)

2009-02-06 Thread Fernando Muñoz
Gnome's developer marked this as won't fix, they claim Gnome's window
manager is not Compiz, but metacity. So Ubuntu should change or provide
a new tool for taking screenshots since Ubuntu enables compiz by default
on capable hardware.

before the suspend/hibernate process and not after.

Sorry, I do not know where to set this. I did not find it in
gnome-screensaver-preferences nor in gnome-power-preferences.

I installed Jaunty for test purposes (this time using Gnome desktop, not
XFCE). Triggering suspend I can see gnome-screensaver being switched on
before suspending as you stated. Unfortunately resuming in Jaunty does
not work for me, but this is another story ...

For debugging instructions, do the same as in this post and attach the
 resulting file:
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/42052/comments/4

Also, may I see the script you're using in /etc/pm/sleep.d?

I'd prefer PM for this.

Kind regards

Gerd

[Bug 326099] Re: gnome-panel segfaulting every few seconds
