[Bug 416359] Re: Totem playing Youtube videos error
I can confirm this bug on all of my Ubuntus.: 2 9.04s and one 8.04. There is a slight difference in the error message Could not open location; you might not have permission to open the file on 9.04 and Could not open location on 8.04 If totem is launched from the terminal I get a similar to the reporter's message. A couple more things to mention: 1) It appears to be a recent problem, since I just recently noted this totem plugin and started advertising it to my friends when installing Ubuntu on their computers. 2) Totem finds videos in the search window with the right urls and shows their previews 3) urls are correctly fetched, since one can copy them (from the search window) and use the command mplayer copied_url_in_quotes I think that during some update (totems or related) urls are not handled correctly anymore (like it wont work without quotes with mplayer ) -- Totem playing Youtube videos error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416359 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 341123] Re: can't delete files on nas over samba with nautilus
First BUG (directory not cleared recursively): The problem here is that gvfs-rm is NOT working recursively.. rm-fr does work recursively! Therefore on a mounted gvfs smb share, a non-empty directories can be deleted with rm -fr, while gvfs-rm can't successfully remove a non-emtpy directory. Nautilus probably uses gvfs-rm for deletion, and does not recursively remove directories. Probably gvfs-rm just calls the rmdir on the smbclient, while the rmdir command is NOT recursively. Second BUG (message error wrong): On being unable to remove a directory because recursion isn't initiated, a bogus error message is returned: NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND . [Bug 416916] [NEW] mime-types are hosed; can I fix them?
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I don't know how it got this way, but ALMOST all of the mime-types displaying in Nautilus are wrong, listing video and mp3 files as text files and only offering text editors as 'players' -- I don't want to clear this user account and re-install (ie the Windows approach) but I can't find any obvious user-space file that would explain this behaviour! Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs.
