[Bug 422110] Re: stickynotes_applet crashed with SIGSEGV
Hi After yesterday's update stickynotes works again like a charm. Thanks for the fix. As a reminder: please keep stickynotes as part of the desktop applets, because they are wonderfully tiny, and thus you can put a lot of them on the desktop. Don't even think about replacing them with the clumsy tomboy!! Keep up the good work! Yes. It's a new 'feature' in Gnome - but Chris has logged a bug for it (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=598118), so I guess we'll just have to wait. [Bug 457985] [NEW] poppler 0.10.5-1ubuntu2.4 regression since -1ubuntu2.2

[Bug 77010] Re: Overuse of system beep without volume control
I know have the pcspkr blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf (automatically, I didn't add it myself), and I don't have the pcspkr module loaded. But, after a suspend/resume cycle I still get the system beep! So, apparently the system beep works even without the pcspkr module. This is after manually running $ pactl load-module module-x11-bell sample=bell.ogg to get the PulseAudio bell sound working. What seems to happen is that after unloading and reloading the PA module, the system beep stops and the PA beep takes over. After suspending my laptop and resuming again, something strange happens. When I press ctrl-G in a termal (for example) I hear the system beep again, but I also hear the PA beep. And I don't hear it only once. The PA beep goes into an endless repeat loop. To stop PA from repeating the beep, I can simply start pavucontrol (just starting it is enough). To get rid of the system beep I have to use pactl unload-module and then pactl load-module as above. So my particular problem is probably related to pulseaudio. -- Overuse of system beep without volume control https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/77010 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to libgnome in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 424237] Re: gnome-system-log menu missing selection
Dear Sebastien, sorry my late response because of my travelling. 2.) From date format YEAR numbers (like 2008, 2009) are missing ! from log output (=png-file). In my computers log dislay... I had records more than one and half year. How can I be sure that the record I am looking is from the date of right year if the year is missing ? I was tracking another problem for long time, before I realized that I was reading wrong records (one year too old). 3.) a next question is, how or where can I change the date format which is used in these logs ? 4.) second new question is extension to 2.), date format in the left part of display (= subtitles like debug, messages) should include THE YEAR also ? My experiences are, that analysing problems year- month-day-time(24h) are more important than those starting with day of week. yours, jorma veijanen Sebastien Bacher kirjoitti: could you explain what is incorrect in that screenshot? -- gnome-system-log menu missing selection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424237 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 458007] Re: evince does not show texts in this pdf documents
great, i'll upgrade... :-) Two more questions related to it... - Which version of poppler use evince at Karmic? May be is a newer one... - I have another document that I can not read with evince but acrobat does. but the errors generated are different. It's more than 1MB, so I d'on't attach it, but the url is: http://www.mnat.es/new/09/trobaset/Troba%20set09.pdf , When opening it with acrobat reader 8 it says something like it's not possible to extract the embeded font. Some characters will not be displayed correctly (I'm not working with an English locale so I've translated the message) -- When opening the document http://www.mnat.es/new/09/trobaset/Troba%20set09.pdf from terminal: Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file Error: could not create type1 face some font thing failed -- Thanks! -- evince does not show texts in this pdf documents https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/458007 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to poppler in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 438203] Re: Unable to play downloaded youtube videos
If we install Linux we need to have internet connection to listen to a MP3 song even though it is a widely used format. I dont remember Microsoft giving such an option. the mp3 decoding is patented and can't be shipped without paying the right to use those, you do pay your microsoft os so they can use some of this money to buy your mp3 decoder, you don't pay ubuntu though so this can't be done there -- Unable to play downloaded youtube videos https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438203 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
