This did the trick! There is no drop-down menu for the Window
decoration, but manually change the text to Normal makes the drop-down

I've instaled everything (gstramer plugins) available on Software
Control Center and them showed pixelated. Before just couldn't open the
file. I suppose it was an improvement.

About apport-collect problem, it's an apport bug in Lucid.
Please open a terminal and report here the result of giving this two
commands:
gvfs-mount -d /dev/fd0

I m running Ubuntu 9.10 inside VirtualBox which is installed inside Windows 7.
I am facing similar problems with Gedit when I try to save files in shared
folders while I can save files with leafpad in shared folders.

You have to kill nautilus all together.
If the process is still running (it renders the desktop folders too) the bug
remains so I assume it has something to do with nautilus caching.

So when I close my laptop lid, and remove AC power, the computer does not go to
