I think this fix needs to be put into 10.04.1 . Thing is, this is a GNOME problem, we need them to fix it first. That's what I'm trying to do, expedite getting a fix. I get the feeling, both from what Omer says and from looking at the GNOME bug, that the GNOME people think it's a fair bit of work. If I'm right in my analysis of the code, it's trivial. Whatever encouragement we can give to the GNOME people to verify what I found and get a fix out quick will be best for everyone. Line 3 and 4 show the bug : while date (and sleep) thinks 5 minutes have elapsed, hwclock shows that 15 minutes have elapsed. It appears that this bug is fix for cifs mount in 2.30 (according to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336738#c35). I still encountered this bug using sshfs with 2.30 (Ubuntu 10.04). [Bug 421325] [NEW] when monitor enters standby in kde4 (pulse?)audio is interrupted
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I am using KDE 4.2 in Intrepid. Whenever the monitor blanks for powersaving, there is a glitch in audio playback. I hear half a second or so of buzzing, as you get when the same very short sample of the audio is played back repeatedly. [Bug 175233] Re: Evolution hangs with Formatting Message after several hours
I am also affected by this bug. I'm running ubuntu lucid lynx 32 bit. After I upgraded from karmic I started experiencing the bug. It seemed to happen while opening mail in local search folders, to fix it I found that switching to a regular account folder disabling my yahoo pop mail account and killing evolution from terminal would let me access my mail again at next startup. I hope the disable picture settings works cause it's a lot less painful. I hope this is useful towards fixing the bug, I suggest bumping the severity of the bug up a notch, not being able to use your mail on a desktop system built for internet use, with the default application is bad. [Bug 424549] [NEW] flashing in all programs that require graphics (sony vaio, fw)
You have been subscribed to a public bug: this bug isn't one of critical importance. i have tried reinstalling the fglrx drivers to no avail. it has happened with several installs of ubuntu, its the only problem i can find. whenever a window is open all graphical application -screensaver all have a flashing to them. all games quit or go out of full screen and i can't use anything and have to ctrl alt f1 shut down to get around it. everything else but the motion eye camera works completely. just informing you guys of it, not a big problem to me since i can use vista for all graphical things. but i don't like vista and i love ubuntu ** Affects: metacity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: vayo -- flashing in all programs that require graphics (sony vaio, fw) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424549 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 618805] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke()
Thank you taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, processing the crash report to get detailed information for the developers failed as the retracer did not generate a useful symbolic stack trace. Please try to obtain a backtrace manually following the instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem. ** Attachment removed: CoreDump.gz https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/618805/+attachment/1493820/+files/CoreDump.gz ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/618805 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 619838] [NEW] not a crash, unable to change input other than via cntl-z
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-games SUDOKU: ok previous releases, but in this release I am unable to clear input other than via cntl-z. Also, not an error, but a recent addition of a YOU WON screen upon successful completion is an annoyance. I play as I watch an opera video, this window intrudes under the opera and I cannot cancel it without moving the opera to get at it to cancel it - meanwhile I cannot kill the original sudoku without killing this CANDY software which adds nothing but cpu cycles and window space.
