[Bug 628654] [NEW] Battery Information Shows Up Twice

2010-09-02 Thread Virgil Brummond
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Using Ubuntu Maverick installed from a daily image after alpha 3. Gnome
power manager is 2.31.90-0ubuntu5.

Pulling up the menu that shows power information should show my AC and
Battery. Instead I get the same information listed twice about the same
interfaces. I only have one battery.

Screenshot included.

[Bug 599263] Re: No outgoing calls on SIP

2010-09-02 Thread Kristof Imre Szabo
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 597233 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/597233

In my understanding this is a completly different issue - I don't
understand what inbound video calls (#597233) and outgoing voice calls
(this bug) have to do with each other. Not talking about the fact that
#597233 was fixed in 0.6.2-1ubuntu1, while this appears to be in
0.6.2-1ubuntu1.

If you tell me where to look for more information to analyze the problem
(besides the attached logs), I can do that, no problem, I'm very
interested in solving this issue.

[Bug 292585] Re: Evolution Mail Notification has no sound

2010-09-02 Thread Sazhen86
I also had this problem, so I decided to use a script to play a wav file
using aplay. During my testing I found that aplay wouldn't play some of
my wav files with the following error:

aplay: test_wavefile:807: can't play WAVE-file format 0x0055 which is
not PCM or FLOAT encoded

Once I found one that aplay liked, I tried it in evolution and it worked
there too. I'm using evolution 2.28.3 on Ubuntu 10.04. Hope this helps
someone.

[Bug 613634] Re: [maverick] forgot jabber password on upgrade

2010-09-02 Thread Jamie Strandboge
Brian, I am fine with how you want to handle this bug, but marking it
incomplete and saying I had an old version of empathy seems the wrong
approach since at the time I used the most up to date empathy available,
and this bug will now auto-expire even though nothing happened. Perhaps
this is your intent

Based on this perceived intent and Omer's comment, closing as Won't
Fix for now, until someone can find a reliable reproducer.

[Bug 405544] Re: Kernel does not recognize blank optical media

2010-09-02 Thread Robbie Williamson
mp, I understand the frustration, but this bug is pervasive across
Linux, i.e. affects multiple distros and is not something we can easily
fix. Just do a google search of [sr1] Sense Key : Illegal Request
[current] or [sr1] Add. Sense: Logical block address out of range and
you'll see. It seems that it may even be firmware related, in which
case we can't fix it. Couple of questions:

1) Can you test this with Maverick? I'm asking because I'm running
maverick on my Thinkpad X301 with a USB connected CD/DVD burner and I
don't have this error.

2) Are you using a new, never written to DVD-RW or one that you erased?
I'm asking because that might indicate where we should investigate.

[Bug 22007] Re: no 'Settings' button in gnome-screensaver

2010-09-02 Thread cablop
Seroiusly, Gnome is suffering of some sort of anorexia.
The project wanted to remove and declutter itself.
And that's ok.
But then, when it is ok, it started to cut more and more of itself. We say, hey
Gnome, you are cute that way! but Gnome keeps telling, i'm still fat...
We need options. Simple options, yes, but options. We can't be forced to use
something that is mostly an aestethic thing nowadays if we cannot setup it to
suit OUR sense of aesthetics.

Also, Marc... is simpliciy, the kind of simplicity Gnome is looking for,
to tell us to go down and edit the code of an screensaver? from my point
of view that's not simple... and your answer was rude... something like
I'm not willing to code that, so go yourself and deal with the
barebones of it...

In my opinion... if you are not willing to enhance the user
experience... why not to give this project to somebody else?

[Bug 592838] Re: Cannot click on status URLs in Empathy

2010-09-02 Thread Ken Sharp
It was designed to create a hyperlink to be completely useless? That's
some design!

[Bug 497766] [NEW] Strange window behavior after 'low batteri' mouse event

2010-09-02 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I get some strange window behavior every time my wireless mouse sends an 'low
batteri' event. The behaivor is a bit hard to describe, but I will try anyway:
It is kinda like only one window is allowed to be active at a time. By 'active'
I mean usable. So whenever it happens only one window can be used e.g. I can
only manipulate the content of the window not the title bar or the buttons in
the title bar, and not the menubar of Gnome or any of the other applets in the
Gnome-menu.
Whenever it happens the only way to get back control is to close the current
window so the next window in line becomes the 'active' window, until no more
windows are open, and the desktop becomes the active 'window' so I am able to
log-out, which solves the problem (probably because X is restarted, but that is
just a guess)
Alt-tab does not work either, so the strange behavior is not limited to
mouse-input.

The problem began doing the 9.10 beta-phase, but only just recently I
have been able to determine the cause of the problem (i.e. my mouse),
because I two times in a row experienced the problem just after seing an
Low batteri notification.

Relevant output from dmesg, when the error occurs:
[896684.919676] hub 6-0:1.0: port 1 disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling...
[896684.919681] usb 6-1: USB disconnect, address 4
[896685.259560] usb 6-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5
[896685.437703] usb 6-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[896685.458816] input: Logitech USB RECEIVER as
/devices/pci:00/:00:1d.0/usb6/6-1/6-1:1.0/input/input7

If my explanation was not completely clear, fell free to ask me to
elaborate.
