[Bug 601709] Re: Laptop goes to sleep right after plugging/unplugging power cord
Thanks for the continued interest in this bug. The computer that I'm writing about is my wife's school laptop; as such, I can't reload a new operating system on it during the semester (which ends in late December). Do you think it would be sufficient/helpful for me to test it using a live CD or USB drive? It took some tweaking to get Ubuntu to load on this laptop (after Karmic), including some kernel/boot options to make the video not lock up on boot (black screen). I'm pretty sure I can get it to boot and run a test, but I'd first like to know if this method of testing would be helpful. [Bug 664330] [NEW] Don't hide the option for removing the ubuntu one ribbon
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Hello, I upgraded to Maverick, to see a big red band on top of some of my folders saying that they are not synchronized with Ubuntu One. They look alarming, and take up a lot of rare vertical space. I tried clicking on them, but they give no hint on how to make them go away (except for synchronizing with Ubuntu one, I guess...) I looked through the view menu, and found no mention of this ribbon. I had to search forums in order to find that File-Ubuntu One-Hide Ribbon does it. Really, add a button on the ribbon to hide it. It doesn't smell well when a commercial product grabs so much attention and doesn't let me remove it. [Bug 602371] Re: Mounting drives with TrueCrypt duplicates the shown drives, one does not work
Hi Pedro, In Ubuntu Maverick TrueCrypt mount works optimally. When a container is mounted with TrueCrypt it appears as a new drive in Places, called truecrypt1 or truecrypt7, etc., as per the number of slot one chooses to mount the container. It also appears in the desktop as a new drive with the same name truecrypt1 or truecrypt2 ... I tried opening three TrueCrypt containers at the time, and all are shown properly and open when clicking on them; Along with the NTFS partition, an USB hard disk and also an USB pendrive... Everything is shown and working nicely. There are not longer TrueCrypt duplicate mounts, and it all unmount also OK; All mounted drives respond as expected by opening a window / showing its content when clicking on them. For the notes component, this might be less crucial, because Tomboy is the primary note taking application in Ubuntu. But for the tasks component, this is quite severe. [Bug 664451] [NEW] Dual monitors, bad resolutions in GDM
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm I have a laptop screen with a resolution of 1366x768 and an external monitor connected via VGA, the external monitor has a resolution of 1280x1024. Graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 using the default open source driver. When Plymouth loads, I get a cloned splash screen on both monitors at their correct resolutions. This is really nice. Once GDM starts the monitors remain cloned but the resolution of both screens drops very low. This is not very nice. While logging in the correct resolutions are set again and screens move into extended mode. This is really nice. Expected behaviour: Resolution should be consistent throughout the startup process. I have also tried 10.10, the issue remains ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: gdm 2.30.2.is.2.30.0-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-25.45-generic 2.6.32.21+drm33.7 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-25-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Oct 21 13:12:33 2010 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx - Release amd64 (20100429) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gdm ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug lucid -- Dual monitors, bad resolutions in GDM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/664451 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 664460] [NEW] Need Version Update for Lucid
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: empathy The current lucid version of empathy, listed by ubuntu as 2.30.0, automatically and without warning logs all chats.
