[Bug 668995] [NEW] In Icon view, especially 400%, there is too much whitespace
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Especially at 400% icon view, there is so much whitespace that it looks a little ridiculous. Please refer to attached screenshot of my laptop's 1280x800 display. There's room to two images side-by-side at 400%, and probably 4 images side-by-side at 200%. Is is possible that the whitespace around the icon was mistakenly included in the percentage zoom calculation? ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- In Icon view, especially 400%, there is too much whitespace https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668995 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 668886] Re: rhythmbox crash on Internet Radio Stations Searching and streamripping
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. My apologies, it appears this was due to user-error. OK, so according to upstream it's not a bug in PolicyKit, but in the services that specify allow_active instead of allow_any. [Bug 659854] Re: Nautilus 2.32.0: Copy to SMB
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 393012 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/393012 This is definitely not a problem with Nautilus as it can be seen by all file browsers, including using the command line gvfs-copy as can be seen in the strace output below from running 'gvfs-copy source file smb://windows server/share/directory'. For the same reason it is also very likely not a gvfs problem as I'm seeing the exact same issue with Dolphin on KDE that is using a different network file system implementation. The only thing common to both implementations is using libsmbclient as the underlying protocol implementation. I've also seen that using the gvfs-fuse mount (at ~/.gvfs) works, and I don't know how to account for that. [Bug 393012] Re: smb: Error while copying file, Invalid argument
This bug has apparently reared its ugly head again in Maverick, as was discussed in bug #659854 . I've marked it as a duplicate of this bug which I'm reopening. To sum up the discussion on bug #659854 - the behavior is almost the same as the reports on this bug except that fact that the size of the file chunk that manages to be copied is changing from each invocation in a seemingly random fashion. This affects all file browsers (including Nautilus and Dolphin) but for some reason not the gvfs-fuse mount. It can however be easily reproduced using the gvfs-copy command line tool. -- smb: Error while copying file, Invalid argument https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/393012 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 518087] Re: palimpsest cannot delete partition/MSDOS_MAGIC found
I'm using a Maverick x64 LiveCD trying to change some partitions on a failed Clonezilla restore of a disk with Windows Vista on the primary partition and three partitions on an extended partition. I was able to delete the ext4 partition sda7 just before it without a problem and the ntfs partition following it also (all three in the extended partition). [Bug 629258] Re: Battery life estimation never comes around
Hey Guys I don't know whether gpm continually showing estimating when upower is giving it null information is a *bug* or not, but the fundamental problem is a bug in upower, not a bug in gpm. upower-0.9.5 incorrectly gives null battery runtime information when it can't get a electrical current reading from the hardware. There is code in upower-0.9.5 to guess the battery runtime information in the absence of a current reading, but that code is broken. Hence gpm is continually reporting estimating, waiting for a upower runtime estimate that it will never receive. I've patched the upower code, albeit in a fairly ugly way. I don't have time to neaten this up - somebody can fix it upstream if they choose, or perhaps neaten it up for an ubuntu-specific patch. The patched upower code enables upower to estimate the battery runtime, in the absence of a current reading. It takes a few minutes for the battery charge state to move enough that an estimate can take place. On my HP Mini 210 netbook, with this version of upower, gpm now estimates the battery runtime and battery charge time, to within ballpark-correct periods. Anyway, a .deb of the hacked upower can be found at: https://sites.google.com/site/andyeyre/files/upower_0.9.5-4eyre1_i386.deb?attredirects=0d=1 Tarball of source and diffs: https://sites.google.com/site/andyeyre/files/upower_0.9.5-4eyre1-source.tgz?attredirects=0d=1 Checksums: bb27c7d58a4f6e69f48b331876de981b upower_0.9.5-4eyre1_i386.deb 3ade6e99b525f037ce5499a5dd58d1d6 upower_0.9.5-4eyre1-source.tgz ** Package changed: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) = upower (Ubuntu) -- Battery life estimation never comes around https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/629258 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 668552] Re: error in window positioning
Ubuntu-bug didn't work last time. Created bug report but couldn't send it to launchpad. Probably this is a problem when changing from company's proxy server to private no proxy connection systemwide. But seems to work with your apport-collection command afterwards. Yes, this is reproducable. Case 1: 1. Open the inbox view in evolution. 2. Go to the mail viewing section on the right bottom and click on the vertical scroll buttons. Window should move some pixels right, next time some pixels left and so on. Case 2: 1. Create a new mail 2. Show the attachment bar. It's hiding title and menu bar, complete window is moving a lot of pixels up. See screenshot attached. 3. E.g. then click on the CC text box. Title and menu bar are shown again because complete window is moving the same number of pixels down. But instead of activating the cursor in the CC text box, it shows the senders listing as if you have clicked into the from list box (No screenshot possible). And so on. You can't get to the object you want via mouse. You have to do it via keyboard to handle it. ** Attachment added: Bildschirmfoto2.png https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/668552/+attachment/1718541/+files/Bildschirmfoto2.png -- error in window positioning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
