[Bug 674371] [NEW] Cpu stays at 100% after closing totem
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem My bug is similar to that of bug #48165, in the fact that totem eats up 100% of my cpu causing my computer to over heat. I fixed it by editing /etc/fstab as shown below: #UUID=24482A274829F866 /media/General ntfs-3g rw,auto,user,fmask=0111,dmask= 0 0 /dev/disk/by-uuid/24482A274829F866 /media/General ntfs-3g rw,auto,user,fmask=0111,dmask= 0 0 #UUID=0064339B64339280 /media/Photos ntfs-3g rw,auto,user,fmask=0111,dmask= 0 0 /dev/disk/by-uuid/0064339B64339280 /media/Photos ntfs-3g rw,auto,user,fmask=0111,dmask= 0 0 #UUID=C4747EFD747EF192 /media/Video ntfs-3g rw,auto,user,fmask=0111,dmask= 0 0 /dev/disk/by-uuid/C4747EFD747EF192 /media/Video ntfs-3g rw,auto,user,fmask=0111,dmask= 0 0 The original lines have been commented out with #. So the fix was simply replacing 'UUID=' with '/dev/disk/by-uuid/' on each line as suggested by Andras Muranyi in #22. -- Custom fstab causes duplicate entries for partitions in Places https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442130 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 674298] Re: Hibernation warning sometimes hidden
Thinking about it, the reason I noticed the pop-up was there before the system hibernated was because I was clicking back and forth on different windows anyway at the time, meaning the power warning may have popped up just as I clicked another window, hiding it without me noticing. [Bug 674063] [NEW] OAFIID:GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet on OMAP
You have been subscribed to a public bug: just downloaded 10.10 for ARM OMAP3 (ubuntu-netbook-10.10-preinstalled-netbook-armel+omap.img.gz, source of download was http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-netbook/ports/releases/10.10/release/ubuntu-netbook-10.10-preinstalled-netbook-armel+omap.img.gz). That is to run on the Beagleboard (a TI OMAP Cortex processor on a 3 x 3 inch printed circuit). The message "OAFIID:GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet" popped up, asking if I want to "delete" or "Don't delete" (default). I chose to delete, which doesn't seem to impact adversly. Nevertheless, as a low priority and low importance bug, I report this. So far, I have no need to get this fixed, the install of Ubuntu on the Beagleboard went as described and far, far easier than I expected. [Bug 269215] Re: There is a problem with the configuration server. (/usr/lib/libgconf2-4/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)
I also ran into this problem. It was caused by bad permissions on /tmp, which somehow survived a reboot. chown root:root /tmp && chmod 777 /tmp fixed it. [Bug 673760] Re: Rhythmbox crashes with Wacom tablet attached
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 621633] Re: Keyboard indicator does not update the current layout in its menu when switching through a keyboard shortcut
In order for this not to fall off the radar, I think it might be useful to either mark it as a duplicate of the existing libindicator bug if there is any, or to add a libindicator task. In my case, the bug is only partly solved: most of the time switching works well, but in some occasions I can still reproduce it with the same test case as on the original description. Actually, I've just found another way of reproducing it: hold the key assigned to the keyboard switch for a couple of seconds, so that the indicator switches frantically between layouts for a while. [Bug 673809] Re: Slow LAN network on battery mode
Hi Roger, I tried sudo service acpi-support stop And voila I have my speed back. I can even start it again in battery mode and the speed is still good. So it seems that a stop of acpi- support solves the issue and a new start doesn't harm the speed anymore. -- Slow LAN network on battery mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/673809 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 674105] Re: evolution randomly crashes during retrieval of a messsage that matches a filter
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- evolution randomly crashes during retrieval of a messsage that matches a filter https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/674105 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 633292] Re: Lights Off game doesn't work correctly
The problems with online games I would think are unrelated. I've found in the past (before Sun released a 64-bit java plugin) that the open source Iced Tea java plugin handles 95% of applets just fine, but there were a handful of specialised applets that wouldn't work. Check to see if you have sun-java6-plugin installed - I think Iced Tea might be the default (apologies if I'm totally wrong about this). Sun's java plugin should handle any java games (it's what's used on windows if I remember correctly). -- Lights Off game doesn't work correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/633292 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-games in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 9782] Re: Better interface for tabs
Actually ... it is useful to display the whole tab as well as a +, as you can then easily drag it into another window. [Bug 9782] Re: Better interface for tabs
No, because there still should be a convenient way to create a tab. Ideally if there is a + button, when there is only one tab it should be on the same line as the menu bar to not take up any more vertical space. -- Better interface for tabs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/9782 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
