[Bug 709094] [NEW] wrong colors on UPS/battery graphs when dark color theme used
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Hi! I get wrong colors in Indicator applet when dark color theme used, in area where battery graphs are displayed. Please see attached 'screen.png', where I place Indicator applet's Power statistics, along with other applications. To reproduce it exactly, please use Darklooks theme from gnome-themes-extras package; but other dark (i.e., bright text and dark background) themes can be used. As we can see, 1. Axis labels font color is wrong (black, instead of my theme's Text color); 2. Graph area color is wrong (white, instead of my theme's Input boxes bg color, please see correct examples in picture); 3. Graph grid color is wrong (black, instead of my theme's Text or Windows fg color). Ubuntu 11.04. Thank you. [Bug 216144] Re: gnome-display-properties should allow the primary screen to be chosen
Even thought the gnome bug has been closed as fixed in Gnome 3, the solution of having to drag the menu bar to another monitor seems suboptimal to me. Whenever I hook up an external monitor to my laptop, and have to explicitly enable it (because I disabled it before) in the Monitor Preferences, I really want to make it the primary monitor in that same dialog. A checkbox, as proposed elsewhere, that does the same thing as xrandr --output VGA1 --primary, along with some kind of marking in the monitor arrangement panel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216144 Title: gnome-display-properties should allow the primary screen to be chosen -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 709143] [NEW] dip in gnome panel network usage graph on mouse hover
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor (I think I've filed this bug for the right package.) On a standard Ubuntu 10.10 installation, right-click panel - Add to Panel... - System Monitor provides some resource graphs. Right-click this - Preferences - checking Network enables a graph of current network transfer speed. I was transferring large amounts of data, so the network graph was high and quite constant. Every time I hover my mouse on it so that it shows a tool-tip with actual speeds, there is a visual dip in the graph. The actual speeds are not affected. [Bug 333269] Re: leave message uses an ugly and confusing dialog
I believe that what we should do under the remit of *this* bug is to fix the content of the dialog box, and nothing more. By fix I mean: 1) It has both an OK and a Cancel button which both just dismiss the dialog. 2) The content of the dialog is just [Time] [User Message] - if a user has not seen one of these before, they are likely to be mystified about its source unless the person leaving the message was particularly clear in how they phrased it. I think the box should say At [Time], someone left you a message via your screensaver program: [User Message] or similar. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/333269 Title: leave message uses an ugly and confusing dialog -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 588155] Re: randomly gnome-settings-daemon fails to start
I can confirm this bug on my system as well. My Ubuntu-Version: 10.10 Hardware: Asus Eee-Pc-1201t, (CPU: AMD-Neo, GPU: ATI Radeon HD3200) charakteristika of the bug: 1. gnome-settings-daemon randomly fails to start after log-in resulting in the standard-gnome-look (symbols and color-scheme in gnome-panel and nautilus) 2. after starting the appearence-menue gnome-settings-daemon starts without any problems solving the panel-issue 3. nautilus on the other hand stays uneffected 4. logging out and again logging seemes to solve the problem The problem first occured a few weeks ago, since then sporadiclly however since yesterday it occoures permanently. I ran a regular system- update yesterday. Due to var/log/dpkg.log the following packages were affected icedtea6-plugin 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2 6b20-1.9.4-0ubuntu1 icedtea-6-jre-cacao 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2 6b20-1.9.4-0ubuntu1 openjdk-6-jre-lib 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2 6b20-1.9.4-0ubuntu1 openjdk-6-jre-headless 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2 6b20-1.9.4-0ubuntu1 openjdk-6-jre 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2 6b20-1.9.4-0ubuntu1 the hicolor-icon-theme 0.11-1 0.11-1 is also mentioned in the log-file. [Bug 709425] [NEW] Trash crashed as I've tried to move a file (Untitled.skp) from Nautilus
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Ubuntu 10.10 First, I'm not sure it's directly linked to Nautilus. I've moved a file called Untitled.skp from my Home folder to the GNOME's Trash applet. The computer has booted around five minutes before the bugs happened. The interface I'm using is the original shipped one. I dragged the file twice. As usual, I took it would take a certain time before disappearing, but it didn't. I tried again. My cursor kept it appearance (dragging one), but still cold move. System was unresponsive : no way to click on icons, windows, workspaces, etc... Some keys combinations was still available such as Ctrl+Alt+F1:F8, Ctrl+Alt+Del. To fill requirements, I've expected the file to be deleted as usual, but it crashed like described upper. If crash of that kind are considered like security vulnerability, I let you decide about it. Also, if you want a copy of the file (maybe it's about it..), it'll be on attachment. I'll give it another try, and confirm if it's really about it. Thank you very much for your time! You are all amazing!! Here's the output of 'exiv2 test.jpg': for the first of two example images: hakonau@VOSTRO-ubuntu:~/Desktop$ exiv2 test.jpg Filnavn : test.jpg Fil størrelse : 662165 Byte MIME-type : image/jpeg Bildestørrelse : 2592 x 1944 Kameratype : Sony Ericsson Kameramodell: U20i Bildets tidsstempel: 2010:09:30 14:09:15 Image number: Lukketid: 1/60 s Aperture: Exposure bias : Flash : No flash Flash bias : Focal length: Avstand til motiv: ISO speed : 40 Exposure mode : Målemetode : Macro mode : Bildekvalitet : Exif Oppløsning: 2592 x 1944 Hvitbalanse : Automatisk Miniatyrbilde : Ingen Opphavsrett : Exif kommentar : It is Norwegian, but you can see the time stamp: 2010:09:30 14:09:15 Now for the other image, test2.jpg: hakonau@VOSTRO-ubuntu:~/Desktop$ exiv2 test2.jpg Filnavn : test2.jpg Fil størrelse : 3476572 Byte MIME-type : image/jpeg Bildestørrelse : 3072 x 2304 Kameratype : Samsung Techwin Kameramodell: KENOX S760 / Samsung S760 Bildets tidsstempel: 2009:03:08 16:03:21 Image number: Lukketid: 1/45 s Aperture: F3.1 Exposure bias : 0 EV Flash : Yes, auto, red-eye reduction Flash bias : Focal length: 8.1 mm (35 mm ekvivalent: 49.0 mm) Avstand til motiv: ISO speed : 100 Exposure mode : Automatisk Målemetode : Multi-segment Macro mode : Bildekvalitet : Exif Oppløsning: 3072 x 2304 Hvitbalanse : Automatisk Miniatyrbilde : Ingen Opphavsrett : COPYRIGHT, 2007 Exif kommentar : The first image is imported into F-spot using 10th of September 1930 as the date, the second one (correctly) uses 8th of March 2009. Luckily the metadata itself hasn't been corrupted this time, but I can't possibly go through 4,000 photos to check whether their correct date is 03-04-05 or 05-04-03. So even though I'm happy to hear that f-spot won't alter metadata anymore it was a little too late for me, I'm afraid :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to f-spot in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/636819 Title: F-spot error: Value is greater than Int32.MaxValue or less than Int32.MinValue -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 709098] Re: Navigation between side pane and main window is difficult
Sounds good, ease tabbing between the two panes are important since it's almost always between those to you would like to tab. But I think the folder content should automatically gain focus if the side pane are in the places mode, but not if it's in tree view mode. I don't see why the user would be interested in opening another folder from the places pane immediately after choosing a place to open. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709098 Title: Navigation between side pane and main window is difficult -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Both create screen shot and create screen shot gallery are working fine here. 10.10. ahh! it seems that is the problem, when playing the video codec=N/A sound is dolby digital and the copy was done on a professional editing suite by a friend that is no longer able to use the facility. The file is a .VOB and was a copy from a VHS which in turn was a copy of 35mm film Im afraid im not able to send a copy of the video as its too big and as yet i cant copy a small part of it because the usual video editors wont read it despite it playing perfectly in MoviePlayer. any clues as to how to find out what codec it is? Many thanks for the reply anyway.
