[Bug 62430] Re: rhythmbox doesn't do anything with .pls given on the command line

2011-02-04 Thread imachine
Still broken, fresh 10.10 install as of yesterday, updated, rhythmbox
just fails to start playing anything, not only that, it closes, and it
wiped my previous internet radio list contents.

what gives? ubuntu 32bit.

incidentally, it works @ home, where I too have 10.10 only 64bit and
it's not a fresh install but been upgraded from 9.10 or so.

[Bug 712973] [NEW] python-gtk2 broken dependency

2011-02-04 Thread acalderon
Public bug reported:

python-gtk2 2.22.0-0ubuntu1 on natty alpha2 is not installable because it
depends on python2.6-gobject, which is not available.
It also depends on python2.7-gobject so maybe it is an old dependency not
deleted?

[Bug 712734] Re: Natty-alfa2 pygobject has incorrect dependencies

2011-02-04 Thread Martin Pitt
So this fix was done for
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=620215, i. e. actually it
should have linked against libpython all the time. Since it seems to
have worked well enough without it, I'm happy to revert that dependency
just for the python2.6 build.

[Bug 712734] Re: python-gobject pulls in python 2.6

2011-02-04 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package pygobject -
2.27.0+git20110131-0ubuntu5

---
pygobject (2.27.0+git20110131-0ubuntu5) natty; urgency=low

  * debian/rules: Don't link the python2.6 module against libpython. This will
reintroduce GNOME#620215 for building packages against the python 2.6
extension, but it hasn't been a problem before after all. This avoids the
libpython2.6 dependency which would pull python2.6 back into the CDs.

[Bug 657316] Re: Automount of SD cards lead to nautilus and 3g network problems

2011-02-04 Thread Herton R. Krzesinski
If after you test latest upstream kernel as in comment #28 it works,
please test the kernel I provided in
https://launchpad.net/~herton/+archive/bug657316 (you will have to sudo
apt-get install linux-image-2.6.35-26-generic after adding the
repository, or you can manually download and install proper deb found on
http://ppa.launchpad.net/herton/bug657316/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux/ -
you may also need to install manually if you have a newer kernel version
installed on maverick)

Re: [Bug 487614] Re: Rhythmbox unstable connection with radiostations

2011-02-04 Thread Peter Appel
Hi,

It seems to work better, but there are still small interruptions, loss
of contact at times without reconnecting, not in par with Phonostar or
my various web-radios. At times a message tells me, that I should get a
plug-in in order to play a station I have played many times, when
following the instructions I get the message that the required plug-in
does not exist.

Happy to cooperate to get rid of this problem,

Peter

Peter, sorry for the delayed answer, but have you checked if this

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I use Ubuntu - the Karmic Koala - released in October 2009 and
  Rhythmbox 0.12.5.

Rhythmbox looses contact with Internet radio-stations - independent of
signal strength, then stops making new attempts at connecting to
  station - I expect stable contact with a radio-station. I listen to

[Bug 713066] [NEW] New MSN contacts only found after restarting

2011-02-04 Thread Hereward Cooper
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

After adding a MSN account to empathy, requests to accept new contacts
only appear after a restart of the application.

During normal use new contact requests don't appear and I have to
restart empathy each time someone tells me they've tried adding me.

After restarting I can accept their request - however I still sometimes
have to restart empathy a second time for them to see me online and visa
versa (similar to bug #665838).

Cheers.

[Bug 713109] [NEW] missing ID3 demuxer disqualifies many mp3s

2011-02-04 Thread teledyn
Public bug reported:

Many mp3s are put into the error list with the note that Gstreamer is
missing the necessary plugins; when I select to search, I am told after
a long pause that the ID3 demuxer cannot be located. This is
invalidating a great many mp3s and I cannot imagine why something as
simple, standard and ubuquitous as ID3 tag support should not be
supported within the Ubuntu 10.04

is this an error in the package name that Rhythmbox searches? is there

anything until evolution is killed). Evolution turns gray, but doesn't
die. The CPU is not pegged and nothing is added to .xsession-errors when
it happens.

I did notice:
* sometimes a single left click on a search result contact will preview it,
sometimes hang
* double clicking the search result contact will cause a hang
* right clicking on a search result contact will cause a hang

[Bug 572504] Re: use separate tag for report a problem bugs

2011-02-04 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package apport - 1.17.2-0ubuntu1

---
apport (1.17.2-0ubuntu1) natty; urgency=low

  * New upstream bug fix release:
- Be more Python 3 compatible (not fully working with Python 3 yet,
  though).
- apt/dpkg backend: Drop support for pre-0.7.9 python-apt API.
- Add --tag option to add extra tags to reports. (LP: #572504)
- hookutils.py, attach_dmesg(): Do not overwrite already existing dmesg.
- hookutils.py: Be more robust against file permission errors.
  (LP: #444678)
- ui.py: Do not show all the options in --help when invoked as *-bug.
  (LP: #665953)
- launchpad.py: Adapt test cases to current standard_title() behaviour.
  * debian/control: Bump python-apt dependency to = 0.7.9 to ensure that we
have the current API. Trunk dropped support for the old API.
  * data/general-hooks/ubuntu.py: Ignore obsolete packages when filing bugs
against update-manager. (LP: #397519)
  * data/general-hooks/ubuntu.py: Do not file a package install failure if
DpkgTerminalLog doesn't have any data. (LP: #695887)
  * Add debian/apport.postinst: Create /var/crash. This directory is required
for package failures even if apport is disabled and thus the upstart job
does not run. (LP: #683367)

[Bug 713115] Re: [natty] virt-manager no longer starts with recent updates

2011-02-04 Thread Martin Pitt
The crash is triggered by this commit:

http://git.gnome.org/browse/pygobject/commit/?id=f0a0b6c2eda89622de2b1e5ebb6a48103ad72a42

That patch is really correct, as it fixes previously uncleaned
references, i. e. fixes tons of memory leaks. The problem is that this
uncovered a lot of bugs in GTK and the gobject-introspection
annotations, so I would at least spend some time to see if we can fix
the actual bug in pygtk or gtk before I revert it in our packages.

[Bug 446743] Re: gdmsetup allows autologin even when home directories are encrypted

2011-02-04 Thread Flames_in_Paradise
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 353446 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/353446

Thanks for the hint Steinar, I do not think that this is a bug, because
you still need your login-PW to automatically unwrap the login-
passphrase. So encryption is not broken.

If one at this stage creates a newuser with 'adduser' in tty1 put him as
standardlogin the crab is in the box.

From within the newuser-identity, switch-user is easy, then he/she can
deactivate the f***ing 'auto-login'

Anyone new to Ubunutu suffering from this should refer to local Ubuntu-
Forum for assistance, if not experienced on command line.

[Bug 708404] Re: evince-thumbnailer crashed with SIGSEGV in free()

2011-02-04 Thread Chris Coulson
Thanks, I've uploaded this now.

One minor comment - the patch filename didn't match the changelog entry.
I fixed that though, and added a proper DEP-3 header to the patch (see
http://dep.debian.net/deps/dep3/)

[Bug 284443] Re: Encrypted Private Directory is not automatically mounted when using gdm auto-login

2011-02-04 Thread Flames_in_Paradise
Confirmed for Maverick! Probably you may wish to rethink your opinion

/usr/share/gdm/autostart/LoginWindow

ecryptfs behaves absolutely in correct manner, as it as it has to
interpret this action as an attempted burglary.

Not really much more to add exept that it has cost a few hours of my
lifespan to settle this matter within the given opportunities to recover
data and avoid reinstall - as many fresh users would take this option
as 1st prefered choice.

Help making Ubuntu better!
