At times a message tells me, that I should get a plug-in in order to play a station I have played many times, when following the instructions I get the message that the required plug-in does not exist. During normal use new contact requests don't appear and I have to restart empathy each time someone tells me they've tried adding me. While the above fix keeps unity from crashing, the underlying issue with evolution is still present. I can use the reproducer in this bug to freeze evolution and hang the desktop now (ie, I can't click or do anything until evolution is killed). Evolution turns gray, but doesn't die. The CPU is not pegged and nothing is added to .xsession-errors when it happens. Confirmed for Maverick! Probably you may wish to rethink your opinion /usr/share/gdm/autostart/LoginWindow ecryptfs behaves absolutely in correct manner, as it as it has to interpret this action as an attempted burglary. Not really much more to add exept that it has cost a few hours of my lifespan to settle this matter within the given opportunities to recover data and avoid reinstall - as many fresh users would take this option as 1st prefered choice.
