[Bug 575877] Re: gnome-keyring mysteriously asks for keyring password on startup
I have a single keyring, labeled Passwords: login. I do have auto- login set, and I would get asked two or sometimes three times for my password on login, every time. As suggested elsewhere, I changed the password on that keyring to nothing. That worked; I was no longer asked at startup. Then I logged out and in as another user, logged out, logged in as my primary user, then set the keyring back to my real password, which is the same as the password on the user account. Strangely, it would not accept nothing as the old password, which I had set it to earlier, but did accept my real password as the old password. Baffling. Now, it does not appear to ask me at startup, and does automatically unlock the keyring. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575877 Title: gnome-keyring mysteriously asks for keyring password on startup -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 658442] Re: nautilus does not sort users's home directory content
I also have exactly the same problem as jeremy-list has. Even after I change the sorting scheme of my home directory it resets itself and sorts items by modification date in reverse order. It's really annoying. I've also tried deleting some directories such as .nautilus and .gconf/apps/nautilus, and even reinstalled nautilus using apt-get. But, the problem still persists. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/658442 Title: nautilus does not sort users's home directory content -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 721879] [NEW] PDF files created in ABBYY Finereader 10 are unreadable in Evince
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince If I try to open a PDF file created by the Windows OCR program ABBYY Finereader 10 in Evince, the entire document is unreadable. The background is a colorful pattern, stretching the whole document even when the background is supposed to be white. The file command suggests that the files are PDF documents, version 1.3. This bug also exists in Okular, xpdf and ePdfViewer, so it might be a backend issue. Foxit Reader can however open them without problems. Re: [Bug 509895] Re: gnome-screensaver-gl-helper crashed with SIGSEGV in _fini()
Unfortunately, not really, because I have no more re-sizing to do. Although I may be able to re-simulate same, I dare not wish to take the risk experimenting - I dare not block myself out for next couple of months due to other pressures. 10.10 certainly does not seem to have any of the quirks of previous versions. My only difficulty not yet figured is why my external disk has changed the ownership to root. I know (again) I have been trying to check all possibilities of 'Mount' etc, I also have Kubuntu installed (as a backup in case I screw up) and access is possible via that route. No doubt I shall sort it. Many years ago, I used to test all the old style mechanical calculators accounting M/cs and other office equipment for Boots the Chemists (which dates me somewhat). My reputation was terrible - If I could not jam them, nobody could. Regards, Rodney Rostron On 19/02/11 15:07, Marc Deslauriers wrote: Thanks for reporting this. [Bug 721895] [NEW] Ubuntu 10.10 - power symbol covered up in panel
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel Ubuntu 10.10, realease 10.10, 32-bit Dell Inspiron 1720 The bug is in the panel, so I would guess it relates to the Gnome package. I have Gnome Panel 2.30.2. As you can see in bug.png attached, my user drop-down menu repeats so that I can't access the power symbol for shutting down, restarting, etc. When I switch the panel to the bottom of my desktop, the issue stays, but when I switch it to the side of my desktop, the power symbol comes back and everything is fine.
