[Bug 728953] [NEW] Nautilus hangs after copying a file on a sftp server
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I created a SFTP connection to a server in the LAN. [Bug 673591] Re: All IMAP Folders keep disappearing, reappear after opening Subscriptions
Confirmed this is still a problem in Natty 11.04 Alpha 3. In 10.04, Evolution worked flawlessly. My setup in 10.04 was imap folders with Postfix+Dovecot, then with Citadel. Both were fine. Since installing 11.04 alpha, this problem has been persistent. I am using Citadel on it's own. I can also get my mail folders back via disabling then re-enabling the account (irritating, as then I see ALL my Citadel folders), or selecting subscriptions, unticking, then ticking again each folder I want. Tedious. Has anyone found a work around? I haven't checked the version of Evolution included with Lucid, so I'm not sure if this is Evolution centric, or something to do with Ubuntu. Would appreciate any information, and am happy to help test bug fixes. This should be marked as a high priority, and is a potential show-stopper for the 11.04 final release. [Bug 381587] Re: You can not select audio hardware in Empathy for sip/ekiga calls
I just tried to find a way to achieve this in Natty, and I can't... I have an on-board sound card connected to speakers, and a separate USB headset used for Skype/SIP and various other VoIP software like Mumble... You can change the input device for an application once it's running using Pulse Audio Volume Control, (but not sound preferences)... and you can change the default input and output device for the system in the gnome preferences... but not on a per application basis. There really needs to be a way to do it in Empathy, and if I'm not understanding what is required to have Empathy open automatically when I log on, ring on the speaker, and have the VoIP call on the headset... then the UI needs to be improved but I'm fairly sure there is no way to do it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/381587 Title: You can not select audio hardware in Empathy for sip/ekiga calls -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 729011] [NEW] Gstreamer applications fail to play media on some hardware when source audio sample rate does not match that of Pulseaudio
Public bug reported: When trying to open a movie file Totem when the movie's audio sample rate is 48000 Hz and when Pulseaudio's sample rate is set to 44100 Hz, Totem fails to play back the movie correctly. It shows video very slowly, just a frame every few seconds, and no sound can be heard. Computer responsiveness goes down dramatically and 'top' shows high CPU usage by Pulseaudio. Sometimes I can get Totem to play the movie properly (with sound and no excessive CPU usage) by pausing and/or seeking in the movie. The reason I decided to report this against Gstreamer is this: When I set up Pulseaudio at 48000 Hz, Rhythmbox behaves in a similar way when I make it play a 44100 Hz song. On the other hand, Gnome MPlayer has no problem playing back said 48000 Hz audio through Pulseaudio set up at 44100 Hz. This problem is limited in terms of hardware, but not specific to one computer: I can reliably reproduce this bug with CM8738 and SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit external SB0490 sound cards, the latter on both my desktop and netbook (running Maverick and Lucid respectively). But the netbook's integrated audio device Intel HD Audio does not show this problem. [Bug 728803] [NEW] Ubuntu theme switches from partially broken to gnome default on VirtualBox guest
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I've been using VirtualBox to test 11.04 alpha builds. Since alpha 1 I have noticed that on both the Classic Desktop and Unity (if the VBox 3d guest drivers are installed) the GTK theme starts off slightly off. All the panel icons appear dark gray. Then after a few seconds the entire theme reverts to the gnome defaults (only window decorations are unaffected). Every once in a while I'll login and it won't happen but more often I get the same behavior. I'll post some pictures I have of it shortly. I'm currently using VirtualBox 4.0.4 running on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS to run my Natty VMs. This bug was filed against a clean install of Alpha 3, where I did a single update, and did not install the VirtualBox guest extensions. Nice to know that I am not alone :) Do you have some it-department to talk you regarding this issue. I have tried calling and writing IBM. The best solution would be to have IBM correct Lotus Notes. If it fails I thinks that we should revert those two lines of code for Ubuntu - the gtk-guys does not seem fond of that since it is an optimization. Problably it really is Lotus Notes behaving bad, but the fact that it breaks the guid should rule over correctness in this case I think. What do you think? [Bug 723024] Re: Mail reply does not send mail on ssl port - uses port 25
Found the problem - previous version of Evolution handled all settings in the main window settings dialouge. For some reason those settings does not take effect in the new/ reply mail window. Needed to do the SSL settings there as well. I would still classify this as a bug since the new behaviour is rather illogical and differs from previous versions. [Bug 723024] Re: Mail reply does not send mail on ssl port - uses port 25
Hmm.. but it is in the same place as before. If you click Edit, Preferences, go to Accounts and edit one in the Sending or Receiving pane, you will get the Security settings which would include SSL and TLS. There may be some differences caused by how evolution express looks, so maybe that's what triggers the differences? However, I do believe what you say although I don't understand exactly what you mean by main window, and this could have been fixed in a later revision, so could you please attach a screenshot that would describe where you expect the settings to be? [Bug 681567] Re: [regression] With slow mice, opening a right-click context menu immediately executes the first entry
Not sure it's gtk-related. Also happens on my desktop PC with Ubuntu 10.10 ( Linux dmi 2.6.35-27-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Tue Feb 22 20:25:46 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux ) in both gtk and kde/qt applications. Namely it's eclipse, gedit and konsole. I've got A4tech X7 X-750F mouse connected via USB. Right-click triggers double-right-click in about 70-80% of clicks. Towards the statement This is really not an important bug: it is blatantly visible to the end user; it is reproducible; it should be straightforward to fix (I'm not a Gnome developer though I have worked in other GUI systems). The workaround (restarting gnome-panel: http://mylinuxnotebook.blogspot.com/2008/09/restart-gnome-panel.html) is not exactly trivial for a beginner. Others have commented on finer-grained control of gnome-panel: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1574254page=2 Perhaps a hot-key to control the gnome-panel is in order, including one that will restart it (in the case where key and mouse events are prevented from reaching it)? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/556311 Title: gnome-panel freeze on cascading contextual app-launcher menu -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
