I may have figured it out. [Bug 750451] Re: [te]Bugs in Telugu, Kannda rendering-regression on 11.04 beta1
The changes to pango should in quilt format, I've extracted the patch from the bug and am attaching here. Review of the patch: - It is a large and complex change - There are a number of unnecessary changes, e.g. whitespace or comments that seem obsolete. This will make the patch an ongoing problem to apply - Upstream has closed the bug as fixed and not allowed the patch to be applied to trunk. I'm not sure what the reason for this is. For the above reasons I can't tell how correct this patch is, and the change seems to carry a lot of risk and has an ongoing maintenance issue. Arjuna, for this patch to be accepted I would want to see someone experienced in Pango to review it and say it is safe/correct, and the patch be as small as possible so it only contains the required changes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to pango1.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/750451 Title: [te]Bugs in Telugu,Kannda rendering-regression on 11.04 beta1 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 717971] Re: Can't provide password for account capplet although it asks me to
Also, jo, you shouldn't be using root user for your X session. It's for security, so please create a user and use that. Also, it seems from your comments that you're using 10.10, which AFAIK doesn't have the fix for this, and also, your last comment, it seems your problem is a separate issue than the original bug. That is, you're saying you're never getting asked for a password because you get a timeout, so since you're using a proxy, make sure the proxy settings are correctly entered in Evolution's preferences. But if the problem you're mentioning is not about the evolution-settings process this bug refers to, please file a separate bug -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/717971 Title: Can't provide password for account capplet although it asks me to -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 740387] Re: graphical corruption with multiple drivers and classic desktop
What's supposed to be responsible for setting capture_before_unmap to true? Right now, it's simply set to true in metacity.schemas, which doesn't fit with how Bill is saying it's supposed to work. I generally notice this problem when switching workspaces, although it doesn't happen in every such situation. The following is a reliable way to reproduce it for me. I have a grid of four horizontal by three vertical workspaces; I have C-A-1, C-A-2, ..., C-A-0 bound to switch to each of the first ten of those twelve workspaces, and C-A-Left, C-A-Right, C-A-Up, and C-A-Down bound to move around the workspace grid in the obvious way. At the moment, I have maximised terminals open in the first three workspaces (and others). If I start from workspace 1, press C-A-3 to switch to workspace 3, then hold down C-A and press Left twice to switch back through workspace 2 to workspace 1, I find that parts of the workspace switcher remain on screen even after releasing C-A. (Don't release C-A between the two Left presses, or this bug won't happen.) I've attached the resulting screen image. ** Attachment added: corruption.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/metacity/+bug/740387/+attachment/2024293/+files/corruption.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to metacity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/740387 Title: graphical corruption with multiple drivers and classic desktop -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

@colin couple of things here: - capture_before_unmap should be set to false by default in metacity.schemas, so that is a definitely a bug - unity-2d package should set capture_before_unmap to true in it's debian/20_unity-2d-gconf-default file which sets the gconf defaults for the unity-2d session We will provide merge requests for these two packages. [Bug 758811] [NEW] Weird scrolling with PDF containing differently sized pages
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince I'm hitting a weird bug with Evince. I'm opening the attached PDF and maximise the window. Fit Width and Continous are selected. I scrolled down very quickly by holding down the Page down key. It eventually loops (sic!) between page 6 and 7. I can hold the key Page down key forever and it'll keep looping. I cannot scroll down. Same problem exists if I slowly press the page down key. Same thing for space. It works using the down arrow though. Note that page 7 has different dimensions. This issue is quite reproducable. Not always though. ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/758811 Title: Weird scrolling with PDF containing differently sized pages -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
