[Bug 776143] [NEW] skype icon isn't visible in panel

2011-05-03 Thread JR
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

after switching to natty, I used unity for a few days, but I didn't like
it - so I switched to gnome-classic.

I found that the skype icon isn't visible in the panel. this is quite annoying
if I accidentally minimize skype because it's inavailable then. the interesting
thing is, that this problem does not exist in unity.
I've never had this problem in maverick.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Rhythmbox used to display the embedded album art of .m4a songs just
fine, right out of the box on my clean natty install. (on maverick and
lucid, too) (.m4a files coming from iTunes).

Then, some days ago, cover art for some albums seemed to have
disappeared. But more and more covers got lost from my library and at
the moment not a single one is left (only exceptions are .mp3 files). I
seriously have no clue what has happened there.

Erasing Rhythmbox configuration and cover cache and creating the library
anew didn't help, and the cover art plugin seems to do exactly nothing,
  whether turned on or off.

The strange thing about this is that Totem displays the embedded cover
art straight away when playing the songs with it, so it is not a problem
  with the audio files.

[Bug 776209] [NEW] evolution, Natty: no such table and unable to display email

2011-05-03 Thread Martin Konopka
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Few days ago (last Saturday) I switched from ubuntu 10.04 to 11.04 on a
workstation. I made new clean install on the system partition mounted
on / but I kept the partition with the /home folder untouched. BTW, I
noticed that evolution in 11.04 uses a different location to store
email, namely /home/konopka/.local/share/evolution/mail/local/

I am using IMAP.
My settings on the actual system have been such that sent emails are copied to
a folder on local machine, namely to
Sent/2011 (as seen in Defaults settings of evolution).
Today I tried to view (in evolution) messages copied into this folder. I
obtained the following error message:
Error while Generating message list.
no such table:mem.Sent/2011

What is even worse I can not see content of one of the emails stored in
the folder (more precisely, it is a file). It is an email I sent last
Thursday (that time it was ubuntu 10.04 on the machine). It had also an
attachment (a not too big PDF document).

If I view the folder (it is actually a file, not directory) with messages
(using vim), namely the file
/home/konopka/.local/share/evolution/mail/local/Sent.sbd/2011
I actually can see the body of the email and also its attachment .
Then I do not understand why evolution can not display this email. It has
nothing special in it. Other email around it are all displayed correctly.

[Bug 776208] [NEW] Evolution - after upgrading Ubuntu 11.04 could not send receive emails on pop3

2011-05-03 Thread Cristina Valderas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

After upgrading everything seems to be ok with ubuntu and regarding the
evolution I have got my folders and contact addresses but I'm not able to send
nor receive emails. When I click on Sens/Receive Messages the server doesn't
ask me for any password and the only message I see is getting messages (0%
completed)
I think this problem is reported as bug 773908, is there any patch or fix for
this problem?
I really need my email because of my work so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advance,

The GNOME people don't seem to care. What can be done about this but.
What needs to be done to investigate further? I know lots of people for
whom this bug caused data loss and it still happens in natty. In fact,
pretty much every Ubuntu user I know suffers from this bug. The only
workaround I know is unmounting from the command line.

[Bug 776271] [NEW] empathy does not connect to Google Talk after waking laptop up from sleep

2011-05-03 Thread Karolis
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

1) Release: 11.04
2) empathy 2.34.0-0ubuntu3
3) After my laptop wakes up, it automatically reconnects to the wireless
network, and empathy reconnects to Facebook Chat and Google Talk services.
4) All of the above happens, except empathy never connects to Google Talk, but
it keeps trying.

I tried restarting empathy by doing 'killall empathy', but that didn't
help. Empathy has always been very fluky, but I never had this

[Bug 439448] Re: Visual corruption affecting several panel applets

2011-05-03 Thread Najam Tirmizi
I began to experience this bug after upgrading from Maverick to Natty.

When I logged into Ubuntu (Unity), I received a message stating that my
hardware was unsupported, suggesting I use Ubuntu Classic instead.

When I logged into Ubuntu Classic, not only were panel applets,
distorted, but the windows themselves also had severe repaint/render
issues, leaving the UI unusable. I believe there are other reports on
this other bug, though it ought to be noted that the two might be
related.

Upon switching to Ubuntu Classic (No Effects), windows appeared and
repainted correctly, but the panel applet corruption remained.

[Bug 776271] Re: empathy does not connect to Google Talk after waking laptop up from sleep

2011-05-03 Thread Karolis
I could connect, by using instructions found here:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/8696/cannot-connect-to-google-talk-using-
empathy-pidgin-after-upgrading

   1. Add Google Talk account
   2. Login ID: usern...@gmail.com
   3. Password: **
   4. [x] Encryption required (TLS/SSL)
   5. [x] Ignore SSL certificate errors
   6. Resource:
   7. Priority: 0
   8. Server: talk.google.com
   9. Port: 443
  10. [x] Use old SSL

Though, I want to EMPHASIZE, that I can connect to gtalk with the
default settings after fresh boot up, only after sleeping and waking up
it stops working.

However, with the new settings it seems I can also connect after waking
up.

[Bug 775717] Re: Skype icon is not displayed in notification applet

2011-05-03 Thread Berend De Schouwer
Running N instances of Skype causes N-1 icons in the panel to appear.
Skype can get confused with multiple instances using the same login,
though.

The first Skype icon appears to exist as a 1 pixel wide icon. It's very
hard to right-click on the icon, but it does exist.

[Bug 750700] Re: Unity Compiz plugin captures F10 for menu even when explicitly disabled in gnome-terminal

2011-05-03 Thread joopbraak
Alex, why is this being marked Incomplete (what more info do you need t
solve this ) and why Wishlist?

It's not Wishlist, Unity is interfering with the terminal so function
keys are not disabled for menu's even if you tell it to do so, and
that's a Bug, it's even a regression because it used to work in
Maverick.

By the way, I think it's bad practice to bind function keys (without Alt
or Ctrl, that is) to desktop environment commands, they should be
reserved for applications.

One of those bad Unity design decisions, I guess...

[Bug 776282] [NEW] MAPI account on Exchange 2010 shows only favorites folder in mail

2011-05-03 Thread MacRules
Public bug reported:

GAL works, Calendar does not.
I tried to remove and add the account.
Adding works, authentication also when using secure.
Finally when the mail account is loaded, there is only an empty Favorites

All other folders are missing.
Access to the GAL is possible, the Calendar does not seem to work.

[Bug 776286] [NEW] gnome-appearance-properties shows inconsistent icon with slideshows

2011-05-03 Thread Leo Iannacone
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Background setting has problem between icon rtl and slideshow.

In the attachment you can see a next + next icon, instead of prev +
next icon.

I saw code (gnome-control-center-2.32.1/capplets/appearance/appearance-
desktop.c) and found following at line #1059 :

  icon_set = gtk_style_lookup_icon_set (style, gtk-media-play);
  pb = gtk_icon_set_render_icon (icon_set,
 style,
 GTK_TEXT_DIR_RTL,
 GTK_STATE_NORMAL,
 GTK_ICON_SIZE_MENU,
 widget,
 NULL);
  pb2 = gtk_icon_set_render_icon (icon_set,
  style,
  GTK_TEXT_DIR_LTR,
  GTK_STATE_NORMAL,
  GTK_ICON_SIZE_MENU,
  widget,
  NULL);

Code seems to be correct... any idea?

[Bug 776342] [NEW] e-calendar-factory takes sometimes more than 1GB of RAM

2011-05-03 Thread Nicolas Michel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution-data-server

I can't reproduce the problem. Sometimes everything works, and then, for
an unknown reason, it begin to consumes a very lot of memory. Then the
OS needs to use the SWAP file and the computer became too slow to be
usable.

To fix it, I either need to kill e-calendar-factory but in that case,
I can't use Evolution anymore. Or I need to restart my computer.

I forgot to say I'm using CalDav to be connected to my calendar and the
ones of my collegues. So I'm connected at the same time with 5 CalDav
calendars.
