Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: eog

I have a jpg image. When I scaled it to 49% the print was blank. I tried
printing it to a file the file was blank too! It does not report any

Is there an issue with the scaling algorithm?

[Bug 779799] Re: notes:// protocol no more handled

2011-06-03 Thread Emmanuel DA MOTA
i'm not sure that it is related to the upstream bug as the submitter want to
open his mail located on the Notes server inside the evolution client that's
not what i want and used to do.
The feature that is not working after the upgrade to natty is when i receive a
mail in evolution which contains a notes link, clicking to the link should open
the Notes native client and the document pointed out by the link.

i found a workaround for this, you can check

This happens with specifying anything but a valid gconf path, and as /A does
not exist, segfault happens.
gconf-editor [valid-gconf-path] works correctly
gconf-editor [invalid-gconf-path] produces segfault

Confirmed using gconf-editor 2.32.0-0ubuntu2, Ubuntu 11.04.

[Bug 786474] Re: evolution deos not empty wastebasket

2011-06-03 Thread Gordon Hocking
Thanks for looking at this here is a better explanation.
In options i have set delete on exit from wastebasket does not work. right
click on waste basket gives error while expunging evolution trash. lf i try to
delete a single file the curser goes to the next file. In the previous version
on 10.4 the wastebasket sign was not active.
In junk with the same option to delete, the files just go to wastebasket.
Iindividually or select all and delete same result.
In wastebasket ctrl e does not work not even an error meesage. I now have 1610
files in wastebasket is there a work around?
.
I also noticed in 10.4 to get the wastebasket to empty it would only execute if
all messages in other folders were closed when using the auto option.

This bug is *NOT* a duplicate of bug #23810. Bug #23810 talks about a

Furthermore, bug #23810 is dated October, 2005 !! Is such a usability
bug has stayed in Evolution for 6 years () that would mean that
Evolution is a piece of trash that wouldn't deserve being used.

It's been mentioned that the present bug is a *regression* so it cannot

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all

since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been
fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test
it on a currently supported Ubuntu version.

I will close this bug now. If you are able to reproduce it with a
current supported version of Ubuntu, please, create a new one typing

[Bug 504337] Re: Evolution searching messages affords no hits

2011-06-03 Thread Brendan Donegan
Really, strictly speaking this is not a bug. The quick search bar if you
click on the magnifying glass says 'Subject or Addresses contains', and
if you go to 'Advanced Search' you'll see this rule is defined as 'Any
of the Subject, Sender and Recipient' contain the *whole* specified
string. This is never going to be the case if you use keywords from both
the Sender and the Subject. Unless I've misunderstood your definition of
the problem. It would be good to get some screenshots showing where you
entered the terms and which results you did and didn't get.

[Bug 23810] Re: Evolution is unusable in 1024x768

2011-06-03 Thread Radek Czajor
It doesn't work on my netbook Acer AOD260 10 too on Ubuntu Netbook Edition
11.04. My resolution is 1024x600. The main window's lenght is too large and so
the preferences window's height. If there was only a possibility of resizing
the main window in the vertical position. I know, that the left and upper menu
has big icons, but what about the right upper corner? There is some space which
is unused. I can handle the preferences menu with pressing the alt key and
dragging the window with mouse.
It's a pity, that some things in Ubuntu Netbook Edition 11.04 don't work
properly, although it's made for netbooks.

[Bug 792063] Re: gconf-editor Segmentation fault

2011-06-03 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal
with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report
a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport
in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.

If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Re: [Bug 715480] missing an imap account

2011-06-03 Thread Reinhard Bring
Today, I have updated all machines to Natty. Before I changed the config
of the mail accounts from imap to imapx. Since then, the error has not
appeared again. However, today I do not have the problem, but I am not
willing to test the natty config with the formerly used imap instead of
imapx. I'd really like to know the difference between imap and imapx
since other email clients don't seem to make such differences.
Best regards Reinhard

This one is nasty. I mean, Evolution is the DEFAULT mail client in

going horribly wrong.

so +1 for raising the importance to high.

[Bug 778543] Re: Evolution mostly (?!) fails to save sent email to IMAPs sent folder - the mail is saved in local folder instead

2011-06-03 Thread kapetr
Of course I have set my sent folder in IMAP account setting correctly.

The problem is, then after sending e-mail, sometimes is the message
stored correctly in sent folder of IMAP account and sometimes I get
error message, that Evolution can't store the message there and stores
the message in local sent folder instead.

I can move it manually to IMAPs sent folder, but it makes me crazy ...

I can't find any determinicity of that. In Evolution are many buggies -
e.g. it sometimes from nothing begins to report, it cant connect to IMAP
server and wants to type password, and again, and again,... It helps
only to restart it, .

[Bug 792341] [NEW] gnome-terminal is sometimes not adding trailing slash when [Tab] used

2011-06-03 Thread Tomasz Nurkiewicz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Steps to reproduce :

$ mkdir test  cd test
$ mkdir target
$ ln -s target backup
$ ls -l
lrwxrwxrwx 1 tomasz tomasz6 2011-06-03 14:22 backup - target/
drwxr-xr-x 2 tomasz tomasz 4096 2011-06-03 14:22 target/

Now try:

$ cd ta
$ cd ba

Pressing [Tab] expands ta to target/, while ba is only expanded to
backup (notice no trailing slash). Although it's consistent with ls
output, it is a bit counterintuitive, as logically both target and
backup are accessible directories.

What's even more interesting, pressing [Tab] again when ba is already
expanded to backup will add the trailing slash (backup/). Also I
noticed xterm behaves exactly the same, so the reason must be somewhere
deeper.

This affects me too. Should I submit the bug report from my system? How
do I submit a report without creating a new bug entry?

[Bug 776409] Re: gnome classic does not allow window resize or shows min/max/close section

2011-06-03 Thread Alex Engelmann
I couldn't figure out what effect might be causing it, but I did go
ahead and take a screenshot so you can see the problem. It seems to
have something to do with missing window borders, but changing the theme
doesn't make a difference.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 778543] Re: Evolution mostly (?!) fails to save sent email to IMAPs sent folder - the mail is saved in local folder instead

2011-06-03 Thread Veger
Thanks for your reply. Unfortuately we do not have enough information to work
on this bug.
At a minimum we need:
- the actual error message when storing the send message in the IMAP account
fails
- the log file recorded when the error occurred (to generate the log file start
evolution from a terminal using evolution --debug=~/evo.log)

Hopefully this will result in a better understanding of the problem.
