[Bug 803331] [NEW] LDAP address book doesn't connect to LDAP server

2011-06-29 Thread Ole Wolf
Public bug reported:

When I add an LDAP address book, Evolution won't search the database.

I've entered the following information for the address book:

The Server field contains crtdir.certifikat.dk, and the port is 389.
I've specified an insecure connection and anonymous login. The login
field is left empty. In the details tab, the search base is c=DK, and
the search tree is specified as subtree. The search filter is left
empty.

The above LDAP server answers queries that are performed from the
command line; for example:

  ldapsearch -x -h crtdir.certifikat.dk -b c=DK mail=em...@addre.ss

will return its search results for the email address em...@addre.ss.

For debugging, I set up an LDAP server on my own computer to see if the
simple authentication (the -x switch) might be the culprit. However,
according to the LDAP debug log set to max debugging level, evolution
doesn't even connect to the LDAP server.

[Bug 795795] Re: In evolution's message preview pane the overlay scrollbar thumb does not appear on approach (only on hover)

2011-06-29 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Hmm.. I can confirm this on oneiric with the latest evolution too
(3.1.2). Message preview pane shows the overlay, but the control widget
doesn't appear as early as in the message list or folder tree panes;
just when you actually hover over the orange scrollbar.

cimi, ping me on IRC and I can provide a demo.

[Bug 780400] [NEW] Unable to start Evolution from keyboard

2011-06-29 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: evolution

Until I upgraded to Natty, was able to start Evolution from my keyboard. Now,
only able to do so after I started Evolution from Unity. Via Applications.
When the E-MAIL key is pressed after log-in, Evolution doesn't load as
expected. Would it be possible to start Evolution straight after log-in from
keyboard again?

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu

cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

2011-06-29 Thread Martin Pitt
Right, gnome-system-monitor is still at 2.32. The main blocker here is
that the 3.0 version needs gtkmm3.0, so we'd have two gtkmm versions on
the CD. Once gparted gets ported from 2.4 to 3.0, we'll update g-s-m as
wel.

2011-06-29 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thanks for the report, could you get a backtrace? you need to use gdb
and break on gdk_x_error as in:

gdb gnibbles
$ set logggin on crash-game.txt
$ break gdk_x_error
$ run --sync

reproduce the crash and:
$ thread apply al bt full
then just quit gdb and attach that resulting log file to the report, thanks in
advance.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Your bug report is more likely to get attention if it is made in
English, since this is the language understood by the majority of Ubuntu
developers. Additionally, please only mark a bug as security if it
shows evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries or to
directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any
other bugs you may find.

[Bug 766862] Re: remote finger no longer work, local finger limited (pinky vs finger)

2011-06-29 Thread Ayan George
pinky does not use finger's network prototcol -- it only looks on the local
machine.

gnome-nettool/src/finger.c seems to even prefer pinky:

  program = util_find_program_in_path (pinky, NULL);

  if (program != NULL) {
program_name = g_strdup (pinky);
  } else {
program = util_find_program_dialog (finger, parent);
program_name = g_strdup (finger);
  }

So if both pink and finger exist, it'll still use pinky. Perhaps the
logic should be:

  program = util_find_program_in_path (finger, NULL);

  if (program != NULL) {
program_name = g_strdup (finger);
  } else {
program = util_find_program_dialog (pinky, parent);
program_name = g_strdup (pinky);
  }

[Bug 801180] Re: battery indicator is not displayed in oneiric

2011-06-29 Thread Martin Pitt
Let's postpone the gnome-power-manager indicator icon part of this until
next week, when the gpm bits will be absorbed by gnome-settings-daemon.
I'll handle the missing icon in the control-center shell for now.

** Package changed: indicator-applet (Ubuntu Oneiric) = gnome-power-
manager (Ubuntu Oneiric)

** Changed in: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu Oneiric)
 Assignee: Ken VanDine (ken-vandine) = Martin Pitt (pitti)

[Bug 801180] Re: battery indicator is not displayed in oneiric

2011-06-29 Thread Martin Pitt
ubuntu-mono provides the icons for the battery charge. We need to update
the names there for whichever names the new gnome-settings-daemon power
plugin uses, once that lands.

** Package changed: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu Oneiric) = ubuntu-mono
(Ubuntu Oneiric)

[Bug 802947] Re: Use same 'date/time' preference in indicator-datetime and gnome-control-center

2011-06-29 Thread Rodrigo Moya
Patching g-c-c to run indicator-datetime-preferences if available and
its normal datetime panel if not is not as easy as running external
panels (http://launchpad.net/bugs/787694), so I think it is much safer
to make indicator-datetime run g-c-c datetime panel, and, if needed, add
anything we need to the g-c-c panel.

So, attached branch does that

[Bug 803422] Re: Add Alt+Shift+number to switch tabs

2011-06-29 Thread Brendan Donegan
Hi,

Don't set the status of your own bugs, no matter what. Anyway the status
'Opinion' is only used when there is clear disagreement between the
developers and other members of the community and means that the bug is
out of the view of the developers but discussion can continue.

I've set the bug to incomplete, as to complete the bug it would be
useful if you could provide the name of a gnome application that does
support Alt+Shift+Num switching. Thanks!

Hi,

Please don't set the status of bugs you report to anything but 'New'.
Also don't use Opinion if you think that others might disagree with you.

There are already shortcuts corresponding approximately to what you'd
press in 'top'. Ctrl+K is kill.
