[Bug 815049] [NEW] Nautilus randomly becomes (nearly) unresponsive
Public bug reported: I am on Ubuntu 11.4 (2.6.38-11-generic-pae #47-Ubuntu SMP), and every couple of days nautilus becomes nearly unresponsive. Today it happened when I right-clicked the file tree, intending to open a directory in a new tab (but the context menu never so much as opened). Here are some details: (0) apt-cache says nautilus is 1:2.32.2.1-0ubuntu13 0. (1) The CPU consumption of nautilus is very moderate. (2) Nautilus does not react to the mouse, with the exceptions given below, nor to the keyboard. (3) The window manager buttons for minimize and maximize still work, and nautilus redraws perfectly, consuming a bit of CPU time. (4) The window manager close button reacts optically but does not close the window. (5) Using the mouse I can still scroll in both parts of the window (file tree and directory listing). (6) When the focus is given to /removed from nautilus the colour of the selected file changes normally. (It is not possible to change the selection, however.) So far the only way to continue I have found is to kill nautilus and restart it. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/815049 Title: Nautilus randomly becomes (nearly) unresponsive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/815049/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 744929] Re: After auto-login, prompted to unlock keyring multiple times
I strongly disagree with post #26. It's (yet another) ugly and embarrassing bug in gnome-keyring that badly needs to be fixed. Usually it only asks twice. But sometimes will never let the user in at all. (Before posting this, I entered my gnome-keyring password 20 times before giving up and rebooting.) You can't even shut down normally, since the keyring dialog is modal. It's absolutely insane to say that this doesn't warrant an update. Fortunately, I don't have any of my customers on natty. But if I had, they'd be on me about fixing it every day. Or to put it another way, if this doesn't get a fix, I'll be reconsidering what distro to use in my business. Evidently the implementation for Last.fm was changed and it was not clear that this happened. I've tagged the bug as verified. who is we? if its ubuntu, why are you deliberately trying to carry a delta on this package; will it break freeciv on other systems? I did mean Ubuntu, but no, I hate deltas! I love nothing better than running 'requestsync'. :) I just wasn't sure if you/Debian were interested in adding an Ubuntu- specific workaround. So I was saying that if the patch wasn't in Debian, we would add it. For the record, the packaging (should be) complete and at [1], but i can't upload it. I've asked for a review of it, and I'll get back to you if/when i find out more :) thanks, kk [1] http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-games/freeciv.git;a=summary -- Karl Goetz, (Kamping_Kaiser / VK5FOSS) Debian contributor / gNewSense Maintainer http://www.kgoetz.id.au No, I won't join your social networking group -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/743265 Title: When using unity, the diplomacy and cities menus are not shown. [Bug 575975] Re: Unable to launch some Gnome games in 10.04 LTS
I'm marking this as invalid because it is not a gnome-games bug. The launcher shortcuts should point to, for instance, gnome-hearts not /usr/games/gnome-hearts. If you are unable to start games, then you need to make sure /usr/games/ is in your $PATH which it is by default. ** Changed in: gnome-games (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-games in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575975 Title: Unable to launch some Gnome games in 10.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-games/+bug/575975/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 815286] [NEW] Nautilus hangs / freezes when querying Canon raw CR2 file properties
Public bug reported: Right click on the file and select properties. Nautilus may hang. System monitor reports that the process is waiting for futex_wait_queue_me. Hang is not reproducible every time and situation can be resolved by killing the waiting Nautilus process. Ubuntu 10.04, Lucid, amd64. CR2 file that caused the hang is included as attachment. Description of the behaviour: Properties window opens, file properties window is grayed out but no text or properties etc. content is drawn/filled to the properties window. Properties window is a gray empty box and can not be closed by pressing the close window button. gnome-games dropped network play capability in 2009 but this menu item was accidentally left there. I am remarking this as low since it doesn't crash the game or have any negative effects, nor is it a missing feature since it was intentionally removed.
