[Bug 827844] Re: Crashes after log in on calendar
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 164233] Re: [Upstream] [hardy] Opening pdf with smooth gradient in Evince displays striped
The PDF does not contain a gradient. It contains a series 2 point high filled rectangles designed to look like a gradient. Evince has trouble with white seams showing between adjacent fills due to antialiasing. The best solution would be if openoffice used a PDF gradient. [Bug 703347] Re: laptop close lid event is being handled wrongly
Ok, With latest updates, finally I became able to switch laptop screen off. And I experience following: Firstly: my hardware: HP ProBook 4520s laptop. Intel Core i3, IntelHD graphics card, External monitor - Samsung SyncMaster 2243nw Software: Ubuntu 11.04. Up to date as per 17-Aug-2011 The problem sequence: 0. Initially I have both monitors (laptop and external) enabled and working nicely side by side (no mirroring) with full resolution. 1. I go System-Preferences-Monitors and turn off laptop monitor. Click apply. Laptop screen goes blank and I have external monitor working alone perfectly with full resolution. 2. I close the lid of the laptop. HERE THE PROBLEM STARTS! What happens: Ubuntu switches both monitors and puts them into mirror mode. External monitor's resolution screwed. What one would expect: If a laptop screen is switched off in corresponding dialog, closing the laptop lid should not affect the settings and the external monitor. 3. I switch off laptop monitor and fix resolution for external monitor in the dialog. Click apply and all goes well again. 4. I open up the laptop lid and same happens: monitors are put in morror mode and resolutions screwed. 5. Close the lid again. Mirroring is switched off by itself and both monitors are on, even though laptop monitor supposed to be off (lid is closed) and I can see part of my desktop on my external monitor (it had it's resolution right at least). Does Ubuntu wrongly identifies the position of the laptop lid??? As well I have a problem related to this (I think). When I turn on the laptop and close the lid while it is still running BIOS, The login screen appears only on laptop screen which is closed and on external one I can see only background theme. Please let me know if I should report this as a separate bug. ** Attachment added: Problem description video (my apologies for video quality) https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/703347/+attachment/2285817/+files/DSC00321.3GP -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/703347 Title: laptop close lid event is being handled wrongly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/703347/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 812394] Re: Disable suspend/hibernate options when they are not supported
I don't mind taking that approach on suspend. But every time I've suggested that we enable suspend by default I've gotten push back from everyone saying that it's not reliable enough. Either it is, and we can set up a 10 min suspend by default or it isn't and we shouldn't ask users to do it either. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/812394 Title: Disable suspend/hibernate options when they are not supported To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/812394/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 794512] Re: evince prints garbage with PDF files
Printing to a file seems to work OK. I'm not at my printer right now so I can't tell about printing to a printer. I'll test that next week. I attached the apt-cache policy output. You probably meant libpoppler*. I have created my filesystem in the standard xubuntu (10.10) installation. The home directory is in a separate partition and the partition type is ext4. As far as I remember the home directory may be somehow crypted. [Bug 712687] Re: gnome panels disappear for no apparent reason
LVDS1 reactivates when VGA1 is being dimmed just prior to being powered off as a result of the inactivity timer. At the same time, the gnome panels are moved from VGA1 to LVDS1. Unminimized application windows remain on VGA1. The workaround described in Comment #3 restores things to how they were and how they are supposed to be. ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager gnome panels disappear from the active display when the display is being put to sleep, in the case of a multimonitor setup where the external monitor is active and the built-in laptop display is turned off. [Bug 828175] [NEW] Gnome clock applet not displaying evolution appointments
Public bug reported: After the upgrade to Ubuntu 11.04, the gnome clock applet is not diplaying my evolution appointments. I am 100% sure that this worked fine in Ubuntu 10.10. Now, the clock applet only displays the time zones. Curiously, the days I have an appointment are in bold, but if I click or double-click on the number, nothing happens (on 10.10, the details of the appointment were shown). [Bug 571038] Re: palimpsest crash with libgdu:ERROR:gdu-pool.c:2369:device_recurse: assertion failed: (depth 100)
Hello, Just created an account here so I could comment. I just started seeing this bug. Don't know if it will still help, but the output of sudo sfdisk -d Warning: extended partition does not start at a cylinder boundary. DOS and Linux will interpret the contents differently. # partition table of /dev/sda unit: sectors /dev/sda1 : start= 2048, size= 2457600, Id= 7, bootable /dev/sda2 : start= 2459648, size=226342912, Id= 7 /dev/sda3 : start=466890752, size= 21504368, Id= 7 /dev/sda4 : start=228802560, size=238088192, Id= 5 /dev/sda5 : start=228804608, size=233887744, Id=83 /dev/sda6 : start=462696448, size= 4192256, Id=82 This is a ThinkPad with Windows 7. The partitions as I understand them (as shown by Paragon and gparted) are as follows: sda1 is NTFS SYSTEM_DRV 1.1 GiB sda2 is NTFS Windows7_OS 107.9 GiB then an extended partition with a 111.5 GiB ext4 partition and 1.9 GiB swap sda3 is Lenovo_Recovery 10.2 GiB Is the issue that the partitions are numbered out of order as they appear on disk? This seems to be the way the ThinkPad came from the factory, although I have added and modified Linux partitions and I admit I don't fully understand how the partition numbers are generated/stored. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571038 Title: palimpsest crash with libgdu:ERROR:gdu-pool.c:2369:device_recurse: assertion failed: (depth 100) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-disk-utility/+bug/571038/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
