[Bug 876217] [NEW] Create new document in context menu contains nothing

2011-10-17 Thread Satchit Bhogle
Public bug reported:

OS: Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric stable
Application: Nautilus 3.2.0

The Create New Document option in the context menu in Nautilus (and
therefore on the Desktop) only offers the misleading Empty Document
which creates a text file in gedit (thereby being useless to people
expecting the ability to create LibreOffice documents), and otherwise
states No templates installed. The option to create other files should
exist by default, else this menu entry should be scrapped.

[Bug 676828] Re: Contacts does not show up in empathy contact list

2011-10-17 Thread Stuart Rossiter
Just to note that upgrading to the latest Lucid telepathy PPA fixes this
(see this Ubuntu forums thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1594248). So this suggests
that, if it is the GTalk protocol change in comment #24, the telepathy
guys have already fixed it.

Other workaround is obviously to switch to Pidgin.

[Bug 863309] Re: Menubar always shown by default (although deactivated) (after upgrade)

2011-10-17 Thread Ignacy Gawędzki
I recompiled gnome-terminal with debugging symbols and traced it in gdb.
It seems it is not directly gnome-terminal's fault, but rather libgtk's
or some other libgsomething's, which is now taking over the showing of
the menu bar. I noticed that some other applications have ugly issues
with their menu bar, like gconf-editor which has it appearing only after
a few seconds. This would also partly explain why gnome-terminal's
computing of window's dimension are wrong.

[Bug 876290] [NEW] Ctrl+Alt+Del mapped to log out dialogue

2011-10-17 Thread Satchit Bhogle
Public bug reported:

OS: Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric stable

Ctrl+Alt+Del used to be the keymapping for offering Shutdown, Restart,
Sleep, Hibernate, etc, with the focus on Shutdown. Ergo, it was a quick
way of shutting down the computer via keyboard. In Oneiric, this has
been remapped to throwing up the Log Out dialogue. This leaves no easy
way to shut down the computer using the keyboard. Even Alt+F4, which is
used to shut down applications (presumably for the comfort of users
migrating from Windows), does not throw up the Shut Down dialogue.

A mouse should not be necessary to shut down the computer (and running a
search in Dash is just illogical).

[Bug 876313] [NEW] empathy failing to make audio or video calls and also to establish audio stream or video stream when incoming call from gtalk contact

2011-10-17 Thread sn0m
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 11.10
empathy:
  Installed: 3.2.0-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3.2.0-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 l 3.2.0-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
I'd expect to be able to make a audiocall or a videocall with my gtalk
contacts. If I right click on a contact the options are chat, audiocall,
videocall but if I try to make an audio or video call i get error.
Also when a contact in gtalk calls me, i try to answer but after empathy tries
to establish connection for a bit, I get error establishing audiostream or
videostream.
thanks

[Bug 875956] Re: Clicking User Accounts closes System Settings

2011-10-17 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the
crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with
'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is
the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed
to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug
/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

How this bug can be flagged as importance:Medium ? Many of us can't
work without a printer.

the tools which has the bug is neither the default one nor the one used
under the default desktop, nothing blocks you to use system-config-
printer under gnome-shell if that's what you want to use, system-config-
printer is the default printer configuration utility and doesn't have
those issues

The issue could be fixed with the stable update for ubuntuone-client-
