[Bug 872701] Re: Not possible to enter correct password after screen lock
Has there been any update on this defect? I have a fresh install of Ocelot, and have the same outputs as Michael for * gnome-screensaver --debug * ls -l /etc/shadow * ls -l /dev/null I have 4 layouts set up that I switch between using double-shift: * English (international AltGr dead keys) * English (programmer Dvorak) * English (US) * English (Dvorak) My default layout for the login screen is programmer Dvorak. If I lock the screen manually using Windows + L, and I type the same password (at least as far as keystrokes), regardless of the layout chosen, I cannot log in. However, if I click Switch User, I am back at the initial login screen, where my password works fine. Therefore, clicking Switch User and entering the correct password there seems to be a workaround. I can provide any other logs or information required as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/872701 Title: Not possible to enter correct password after screen lock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-screensaver/+bug/872701/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 879224] Re: names
Thank you for using Ubuntu and taking the time to report a bug. Your report should contain, at a minimum, the following information so we can better find the source of the bug and work to resolve it. Submitting the bug about the proper source package is essential. For help see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . Additionally, in the report please include: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'cat /etc/lsb-release' or System -> About Ubuntu. 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'dpkg -l PKGNAME | cat' or by checking in Synaptic. 3) What happened and what you expected to happen. The Ubuntu community has also created debugging procedures for a wide variety of packages at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures . Following the debugging instructions for the affected package will make your bug report much more complete. Hi, I have the same behaviour on a freshly installed Oneiric with .tc files for TreueCrypt. [Bug 838543] Re: False battery warning +suspend
Also affects me, both on 11.04 and 11.10 (clean install) but not on previous versions. Running on a Dell E4300. Output of upower --dump is at the bottom of this email. Interestingly, I've occasionally seen the default gnome-shell battery indicator applet show the existence of TWO batteries, one of which has 0% and the other 100% (even when on AC power). After a short while (e.g. enough restarts or access to AC), this resolves itself and I only see one battery, showing my actual amount of power. Not sure if it is related, but I also get two batteries listed in /proc/acpi/battery even though my system only has one. I haven't seen what happens to those BAT* folders when things are on the fritz, but the contents of those files are also included at the bottom and look innocuous when things are running well. [Bug 879453] Re: users-admin tool enforces policy it has no authority over
The control center "User accounts" applets is the successor, but it doesn't show groups to the user. Ideally, choosing whether users are Admins or Normal should be enough for everything. If people need to user groups, they must be able to use the command line, because only these operations require it anyway (and are only hacks). users-admin still lives and can be used by admins that would need to set user groups, but it's not really good for that since e.g. it doesn't handle LDAP nor mass configuration. [Bug 878941] Re: Mail Notification Plugin Doesn't Notify
After thinking about this for a while, I don't think it will be as simple as just removing the is_stracciatella check. It's still possible to click on windows and get them focused - but it isn't longer possible to really interact with the computer. - I try 'CTRL+ALT+F1'. Next shock - it doesn't boot, new error message: DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT DISK AND PRESS ENTER - I pressed the power button of the computer longer to shut it down. I confirm the behavior reported in this bug with the Nautilus package 3.2.1 from oneiric-proposed. [Bug 878941] Re: Mail Notification Plugin Doesn't Notify
I figured out the problem. In mail-notification the mail-notification applet only sends notifications if ubuntu is running a "stracciatella gnome" session. Stracciatella-gnome-session was a "vanilla" gnome session with very little ubuntu. Presumably mail-notification turns itself off for the regular ubuntu gnome session because of the evolution indicator. However! Now that ubuntu has moved to unity, the gnome-shell session doesn't have the evolution-indicator conflict anymore and mail- notification should be enabled. The way to fix this would be to remove the is_stracciatella portions of the mail-notification plugin. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/878941 Title: Mail Notification Plugin Doesn't Notify To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/878941/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 879581] [NEW] after switching games I can't access "Isle Riot Solitaire" again
Public bug reported: Switched FROM Isle Riot Solitaire to Spider. Spider doesn't give you the option of 1;2 or 3 decks to play. [Bug 873545] Re: After update Nautilus icons are black/white, no decorations of breadcrumb etc.
I can confirm something similar happening to me. Sometimes, after startup icons are fine for something like 20 seconds and after that they turn into non-decorated ones using some horrible theme. Nautilus is the only application suffering from this as you can see from screenshot attached - unity panel is not affected. Strange is that this does not happen everytime but simply randomly. I have similar log records as listed in #7 and using post-release Nvidia driver. Will try downgrading to nvidia non-post-release version. ** Attachment added: "screenshot" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/873545/+attachment/2564844/+files/screenshot -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/873545 Title: After update Nautilus icons are black/white, no decorations of breadcrumb etc. To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/873545/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 878941] Re: Mail Notification Plugin Doesn't Notify
After digging around a bit I've found that I can't get mail-notification to display a notification icon at all. The notification I was seeing earlier was being displayed by the evolution-indicator plugin. I can hear a sound when I recieve a new message, so the mail notification plugin is running, but it either does not display a notification message or it tries to and fails.
