[Bug 826771] Re: indicator-appmenu leads to have a nautilus menubar displayed on top of the screen
@Matthieu: What I did is just a workaround, but I don't think that many users use Unity with transparent panel and without AppMenu, so it's fixed for 90% of users. Maybe it'll also be efficient to change if (proxy != NULL) check to if (proxy != NULL g_str_has_prefix(...)). As I said in comment #17, the actual problem is not in Nautilus, but probably in appmenu-gtk. [Bug 828623] Re: [Regression] gnome control centre does not allow you to disable the laptop screen while leaving an external DisplayPort connected screen working
I think I've got a workaround locally, but I'd like to check that the bug I'm working around locally is the same bug as here. The gnome- desktop3 packages in https://edge.launchpad.net/~raof/+archive/aubergine contain a patch to wait 50msec during the modesetting to ensure that the previous configuration changes have been applied before trying to apply the new config. For me, this seems to reliably work around problems when disabling LVDS with an external display. This is not a proper fix, but will point towards where to look in the kernel for a proper fix. Could you please test these packages (libgnome-desktop-3-2 version 3.2.0-0ubuntu4.2~raof1) and check whether you can reproduce this bug with them? [Bug 850749] Re: Display unreadable after dimming
There is definitely something strange going on in the settings daemon (also). When I select the screen settings and slide the brightness control, I would expect the screen to get darker or brighter depending on the direction in which I move the slider. This is not happening. When I move it to the left it sometimes gets brighter then darker and brighter again. Very strange. The brightness keys, when they work which is not always the case, have a similar effect. Dimming may actually make the screen brighter. I still observe the original problem. When the screen dims, it stays dark. Hibernate/resume will bring it back. It's easy enough to reproduce. [Bug 285401] Re: Enhancment request, compact headers on evolution message preview pane
It's the same problem Thunderbird has: information is shown in the header which does not bring anything new, at least that's my opinion. Just look at the text in the header. What does it say extra that is not already in the list of e-mails you have just above, or next to it? From - look in field from in e-mail list To - obviously me, but could be more people, look in field To in e-mail list Subject - see Subject in e-mail list Date - same here. So, why not completely forget about the header and give more space for either the e-mail list or the contents of the opened message? Especially on the new wide-screen monitors this would be very handy. Keep the window boundary to separate mail list from preview window and that's it. [Bug 881864] Re: Regression: Missing backgrounds and emblems in Nautilus 3.2.0/Ubuntu 11.10
I think bug #859104 is a completely separate issue, and this one does not effect libnautilus-extension. The API to programmatically add emblems to files is still in Nautilus. However, without gobject- introspection support for libnautilus-extension, it would be very difficult to write extensions in Python. I don't think this bug is going to be fixed upstream. The fact that the emblems UI ever existed in Nautilus has been considered a bug for a very long time. The solution would be to provide a tagging system and reasonable UI for using it, integrated with tracker, and allowing users to set arbitrary tags on their files. The concept of emblems should be reserved for use only in a programmatic way, for differentiation of system details on files; such as readonly, unreadable, symlink, and synchronization services like Ubuntu One. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/881864 Title: Regression: Missing backgrounds and emblems in Nautilus 3.2.0/Ubuntu 11.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/881864/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 852485] Re: [oneiric] cannot login, failed to load session
Is it possible that it's not the bug of gnome-session (I was reported as)? Maybe it should be moved to the right package, at least deletion of /etc/X11/Xsession.d/20desktop-profiles_activateDesktopProfiles helped, and that file is part of pacakge desktop-profiles and rdepends on edubuntu-menueditor according to apt-cache. [Bug 882039] [NEW] iPhone 4S will not sync
Public bug reported: I got a new iPhone 4S with iOS5 on it. I connectet it to Natty (with libimobiledevice2 1.1.0) and to Oneric (with libimobiledevice2 1.1.1). On both Ubuntu-Boxes the device gets recognized as it should and the phone shows up in Banshee and in Rhythmbox. I even could drag and drop music on the device, but synchronizingis not shown on the iPhone and so the msuic-App stays empty. Did I do something wrong? On Natty I deleted ~/.config/libimobiledevice, but that did not help. :-( Any suggestions? ** Affects: libimobiledevice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to libimobiledevice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/882039 Title: iPhone 4S will not sync To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libimobiledevice/+bug/882039/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 882045] [NEW] In IRC windows, the text entry area doesn't force word wrap
Public bug reported: When using Empathy to chat in an IRC channel, the text entry area doesn't force word wrap while typing. As a result, the window just expands horizontally until you're finished typing. Expected behavior would match that of normal chat windows, which force word wrap and maintain window dimensions. [Bug 873545] Re: After update Nautilus icons are black/white, no decorations of breadcrumb etc.
Screenshot from ronsonk exactly describes the problem for me too. Reboots don't fix it. I'm using Nvidia proprietary drivers. I noticed the problem for the first time today, the install (since fresh a week ago) has been fine until now. Possibly related - sound sometimes doesn't start properly either (starting cheese sometimes fixes it - go figure!), and the shutdown button top right just seems to log me out when I choose restart while the shut down application does work.
