[Bug 214370] Re: Logout/Shutdown Sound Not Working
Kyle, you say it's still a bug, but the bug was that an option was offered that didn't work. That option has now been removed, and with it the bug, no? Don't get me wrong, I can't believe that this problem hasn't been fixed by anyone as of yet, and I'd love to have these sorts of options restored, as they seem to be steadily disappearing from Ubuntu (maybe Kubuntu is in our futures?). [Bug 868400] Re: Synaptics touchpad stops working
I'm getting the same error (touching the touchpad = mouse going crazy - it eventually settles in the top right corner and is unresponsive to either clicks or movement, and none of the above work arounds have worked for me. I've noticed, however, that if I plug in a USB mouse after the bug occurs, I can move the pointer freely, but the system refuses to recognise any mouse clicks, whether from the USB mouse or the touchpad. If I plug in a USB mouse before the error occurs, it works fine until I touch the touchpad, then the above occurs. In case it helps, I've also been unable to disable the touchpad through any ubuntu settings (including dconf), whether for when typing, or just turning the damn thing off altogether. The function key combo, which is built into the laptop, does work however. Also, this bug was occurring randomly when first installed (every second or third reboot had it occurring), but since I ran all the latest updates, it now occurs every single time from the first touch of the touchpad. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868400 Title: Synaptics touchpad stops working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/868400/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 860427] Re: Oneiric displays 'Laptop battery critically low' message after AC is unplugged when 'charged' shown on battery indicator
I finally found a workaround in this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org//showthread.php?t=1866533 . Specifically, $ gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power 'use-time-for- policy' 'false' made it possible to run my netbook for several minutes without AC (I didn't bother trying longer), and dconf-tools and experiment show this setting is persistent across reboots. That problem come out upgrading to Ubuntu oneiric. So I solved deleting the .local folder (and the others...), then reinstalling evolution. I need to delete the .local folder to resolve the problem, only reinstalling evolution didn't solve. I think that the problem was some config file and the cause was the upgrading process. Well, you do not need to reinstall a complete OS just because a single program is not working. Maybe try to reinstall Document Viewer. If the problem persists, we'll look at it. [Bug 886555] [NEW] keyboard selection in nautilus buggy
Public bug reported: Normally in nautilus if you search in the window using the keyboard you get the little searchbox on the lower right corner with your preview. Now if you klick up or down on the keyboard or turning the scroll wheel on the mouse the next matching search results will be displayed. If you klick ESC the searchbox will be closed and purged. Now in Ubuntu (but not in other distributions like fedora), if you search with your keyboard you'll get the first matching search result but turning the mouse wheel scrolls the screen and mouse keys move the selection. Thats annoying enough but if you decide you want to search again the searchbox adds your chars instead of replacing them, and also if you want to clear the box using the backspace button like you normaly would do, nautilus just goes up one level. And sometimes the searchbox will only clear if you close the nautilus window and open a new one. Not very user friendly. You have been subscribed to a public bug: I put a brand new 11.04 image onto a memory card. I put the memory card into my Panda board. [Bug 886639] [NEW] Default zoom level setting is ignored for Compact view in Nautilus
Public bug reported: Hello, this bug seems to have been introduced with the new GTK3-based Nautilus version (it is also present in Oneiric). If I try to set a custom value for Default zoom level for Compact view mode in Nautilus (via Edit - Preferences - Views), it is ignored and the default value (66%) is used anyway. Reproducing this is easy: - Start Nautilus - Go to Edit - Preferences - Views - Select View new folders using Compact view - Close Nautilus window and open a new one - Got to Edit - Preferences - Views again - Select a very large or very small zoom level for Compact View defaults - Close Nautilus window and open a new one again The exspected result would be that the icons are either very large or small (depending on what you chose before). But they are still the same size as before, regardless whether you restart Nautilus/open different folders etc. . Some kind of workaround is to set an individual size for certain folders via Ctrl+'+' or Ctrl+'-' (This works). But this is very annoying since you would have to do this for _every_ folder if you want to have a consistend icon size.
