[Bug 951410] [NEW] Ubuntu software center threw error when logging in. (sc did not crash)

2012-03-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I submitted my login credentials to enable recommendations in the ubuntu
software center.
While it was processing the login, the error message window popped up to
suggest submitting the bug.

i would actually guess that this is just some oversensitive error
detection. (but then again, i don't have much know-how on what is
happening in the background)

Note that:
1. login was successfull nonetheless
2. i was able to just continue using the ubuntu software center
3. it was the only application running (in foreground, there may have been
background processes)
4. i connect to the internet over vpn

feel free to mail me to help resolve this by providing more info (though
i cannot think of anything else) or to test some reproduction scenarios
(or anything else that may help)

finally, to provide the 4 needs:
1. release: 12.04 LTS beta (downloaded and installed about a week ago)
2. version: no clue. (don't know package name of the software center to get the
version info for)
3. expectations: for me it is no issue, i could just continue. just reporting
in case it may be of interest (since this is a beta release)
4. happened instead: well, nothing weird happened

Kind regards,
Michiel

Public bug reported:

updating Precise today, i've received a new libpurple0 package with this
comment in changelog:

pidgin (1:2.10.1-1ubuntu2) precise; urgency=low

- build depend on farstream instead of farsight, it was renamed upstream
  * debian/patches/70_farstream_rename.patch
- updated for the transition from farsight to farstream

[Bug 951444] [NEW] gdm battery icon not right

2012-03-10 Thread Ghislain Vaillant
Public bug reported:

I have replaced lightDM by GDM as my loggin manager. The battery
indicator in GDM works as expected but the icon displayed (small
horizontal-shaped battery with plain charge display) is not consistant
with the power button icon next to it and with the actual battery icon
displayed in Gnome-Shell (vertical battery with dotted-like charge
display ).

I expected to get the same battery indicator for both GDM and Gnome-
Shell, which would look definitely better.

[Bug 951425] Re: Ubuntu One plugin has problems when being enable/disabled

2012-03-10 Thread Daniel Lawrence
Was able to replicate the issue with the following steps:

* Start rhythmbox
* Edit
* Plugins
* Scroll down to the button of the plugin list to Ubuntu One
* Clicking the check box to enable and disable
* Clicking the check box to enable and disable
* Clicking the check box to enable and disable

The button appears to adds extra Ubuntu One to the side UI under the
Stores header, with only the first Ubuntu One Store accessible and
working as expected.

This looks like it is only a bug with removing the Ubuntu One from the
side UI

** Attachment added: screen shot of rhythmbox showing multiple Ubuntu One
Stores.

[Bug 951489] [NEW] evince default window size is too small

2012-03-10 Thread Thibaut Brandscheid
Public bug reported:

When opening a PDF in Precise, the upcoming default Evince window is too
small to read the content comfortable. This is a work flow interrupt
because you have always to resize every Evince window opened.

[Bug 950045] [NEW] Dutch locale settings date format not correct

2012-03-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Hi,
I installed Ubunt via Windows wubi, I installed all updates. I set language to
US International. Then I have also downloaded Dutch language. And only set
currency and date format to Dutch. (I prefer English with Dutch date and time
settings)

The date format for Dutch is not correct, visible in the dateformat
screen. If you apply this uncorrect date-format systemwide Ubuntu will
not boot anymore.

I'm now forced to use US date and currency format.

For the one that fixes this:
Date format: 31-12-2012
Currency: [Euro sign] 1,95 (1 Euro 95)
Numbers 1.00.000,5 (One Hundered Thousend and 1 half)

Well, I don't know if it count as security vulnerability, but I'm sure
people that find Ubuntu not booting after half a day of updates will be
unhappy. (Re-installed ubuntu 4x before I found the probable cause)

Kindest regards,

Remi van Dongen
