[Bug 960246] Re: [power]: gnome-settings-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in g_cclosure_marshal_VOID__OBJECTv()

2012-04-07 Thread seeWallace
Please check if solved by update to g-s-d 3.4.0
To check update with beta2 live CD: when at choice of "Try Ubuntu"/"Install
Ubuntu", (connect net and) switch to tty1 (ctrl-alt-F1) and 'sudo apt-get
install aptitude' then use 'sudo aptitude'. (Or it's possible with ftp and dpkg
if, like me, you also have errors with apt-get.) (Can also get
http://ddebs.ubuntu.com/pool/main/g/gnome-settings-daemon/gnome-settings-daemon-dbgsym_3.4.0-0ubuntu3_amd64.ddeb
 via curl.)

[Bug 920327] Re: Ubuntu 11.10 Power Settings Don't Work When Lid is Closed

2012-04-07 Thread franco_bez
In a dual montior setup "do nothing" blanks **BOTH** screens

Even worse opening the lid the monitors remained black, no matter what I tried
I could not get them back.
I had to reboot using "magic sysreq REISUB".

This behaviour is present in Oneiric and Precise on my ACER Laptop with
Intel Graphics Card

[Bug 433631] Re: Wanda the fish is a mute! [fortune-mod needs to be a depends]

2012-04-07 Thread Ubuntu Foundation's Bug Bot
The attachment "Add 'fortune-mod' to dependencies for Wanda's voice" of
this bug report has been identified as being a patch in the form of a
debdiff. The ubuntu-sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report
so that they can review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. In the event
that this is in fact not a patch you can resolve this situation by
removing the tag 'patch' from the bug report and editing the attachment
so that it is not flagged as a patch. Additionally, if you are member
of the ubuntu-sponsors team please also unsubscribe the team from this
bug report.

pretty low urgency one: palimpsest just doesn't save position and size of the

Odd. Could you try this? Run Shotwell from a terminal:

$ shotwell

Now double click an image. If the display looks wrong, do you see any
error messages or other output in the terminal window?

[Bug 951123] Re: nautilus not natural scrolling

2012-04-07 Thread Chascon
Sebastien:
I've tested the if my macbook pro pad registers natural scrolling and it does
not. To clarify, when my fingers glide over the pad towards me, the on-screen
document scrolls to the bottom of the page rather than to the top (as it should
in natural/reverse scrolling).

So unless setting 5 before 4 in .Xmodmap is screwing up a gtk's already
implemented, it's still a problem on pads, nor is it working with mice.

As for gnome picking up this feature because it's part of gtk, well,
I've looked at Unity's mouse preference pane and there's nothing called
smooth scrolling there, much like the case with nautilus' preference
pane, too.

As for that term, "smooth scrolling" is confusing and reading about it
on the net shows that some talk about literally "smooth" transitions
from top to bottom (& vice versa) in any document, as opposed to jerky
movement (jumping 2 or 3 lines with each movement of the wheel of the
mouse). Again, to be clear, I believe both Ronald and I are not
referring to this feature. We're only concerned with, as is this bug,
the cause and effect of directionality of movement with any and all
pointer apparatus.

The odd thing about Lucid is it shows 2 Pop-up windows. One for the MP3 files

[Bug 975133] [NEW] Sylvania SMPK4444 Mp3 player tries to open as Photo CD

2012-04-07 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

11.10 Oneric
Ubuntu 3.0.0-17.30-generic-pae 3.0.22

When the Mp3 player is connected via USB, the auto run window indicates that I
have instered a "Picture CD"
This is incorrect, however the MP3 player does have a camera, and can contain
pictures. The Unity launcher identifies is as a 3.8 GB filesystem, and uses
the MP3 player icon.

Overall a very small bug but a bug never-the-less.
I will test on the live Beta as well

[Bug 976222] [NEW] The "paste" option in the popup from right button of the mouse looks like "disabled" when it can paste after a file copy operation or a file cut operation

2012-04-07 Thread antonioni
Public bug reported:

If I cut or copy a file in a directory and I show the popup created by
the right button of the mouse, the option of "paste" that file looks
like disabled - but I can paste the file in the same directory or
another directory normally.

1 - In nautilus, cut or copy a file;
2 - show the popup from right button of the mouse in the same directory from
the original file or in another directory (or in the desktop area);
3 - the option of "past" looks like disabled, but it works (pastes normally).

The "paste" option only looks like anabled when I change the theme of
Ubuntu.

[Bug 976214] [NEW] nautilus not showing copy/paste correctly

2012-04-07 Thread Daniel Case
Public bug reported:

I have attempted to get screen-shots, but apparently the print screen
key does not work while I have something right clicked. I do have some
pictures on my phone though so I will upload those.

I have two partitions on my hard drive, I want to copy some data from
the storage partition onto the / partition (the storage partition is
mounted by me clicking it in the "Devices" section on nautilus)

Now, when I right click something in the storage partition and go to
"Copy" it brings up an outline instead of the usual orange highlighted
color. Regardless, I can click it.

When I go to the area in the / partition I would like to copy it to
(/home/user/Documents) and I right click, the paste button is blanked
out. However, I can still hover over it and press it, and it will still
copy.

[Bug 976059] Re: shotwell crashed with SIGSEGV in gst_structure_copy()

2012-04-07 Thread Adam Dingle
This crash is happening during import time in GStreamer code, probably
due to a specific video file. It would be helpful to have a log file.
Could you run Shotwell from the command line like this?

$ SHOTWELL_LOG=1 shotwell

Then attempt the import again. Does it crash again? If so, could you
attach the Shotwell log file (~/.cache/shotwell/showell.log) to this
ticket?

[Bug 976060] Re: Shotwell - no toolbar!

2012-04-07 Thread Adam Dingle
Thanks for the bug report. The screenshot you attached does look
unusual. How did you get into this state? Did you maximize the
Shotwell window, or attempt to enter full-screen mode (e.g by pressing
F11)? Or did you merely double click the photo to open it? Does this
happen every time you run Shotwell?
