[Bug 957800] Re: pasted url into Go-Location-(address bar) ~~~ - nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in nautilus_file_invalidate_attributes()

2012-05-18 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I can also confirm that is fixed in 3.4.2; it's not actually fixed in
Quantal yet as Nautilus 3.5.2 (which also contains the fix) isn't due
for release for a couple weeks.

Thanks Doug...I really don't understand why the folks at Canonical don't
give to bug like this one the right importance...another one is bug

target is precision, come on, fix these BIG bugs...moreover the fixes
are already there, you only have to make them available to everybody!

[Bug 41994] Re: closed Laptop Lid to reliably keep Backlight off

2012-05-18 Thread Sam Bull
I have found a gnome-shell extension which adds a menu item to blank the
screen.

This seems to work perfectly, perhaps the code used in there can be used
when the laptop lid is closed? I don't see why a quick extension can do
this better than the main system.

Notice that in the Unity screenshot the hardware tab has gone completely
missing. I think this happens when the applet could not get a list of

[Bug 938751] Re: jpeg images are washed out or colors are skewed

2012-05-18 Thread Felix Riemann
Well, I wouldn't exclude eog as the culprit, but for now it looks like
an issue with the active display profile which appear to be
autogenerated by g-c-m. So the g-c-m people should at least be queried
for input on what could be wrong here (maybe it's just a simple fault).
But considering that the first report is about eog-3.2 it could also be
a problem with lcms2 (which is used since that version) too.

One can do another test to be more certain. Open an affected image in
GIMP. Make sure that in Edit-Preferences-Color Management Try to use
the system monitor profile is checked and Mode of operation is set to
Color managed display. If you see the same off colors it's most likely
a problem with the profile or with lcms2 (assuming GIMP uses it
correctly).

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

dears,

I just want to report that EYE for Gnome 3.4.1 installed with Ubuntu 12.04
proably contain a bug
Indeed, this utility freeze the computer when displaying some pictures in jpeg
coming from my Nikon camera.

I also tried the same pictures with Ubuntu 10.04 - Eye 2.30 without any
problem.
I can therefore conclude the problem is present in this new version 3.4.1

Could you inform me on the outcome of this report ?

regards
ALe

[Bug 969359] Re: gnome-settings-daemon consumes 100% cpu

2012-05-18 Thread Nicolas Briche
Happens to me too; but it only started today. No idea why it didn't
before (I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 last week). Killing gnome-settings-
daemon calms the system for about ten, fifteen minutes, then it starts
again.

Exact same symptoms as Mike M. in #28. I followed his advice (moved
keyboard.gnome-settings-plugin, killed gsd) about twenty minutes ago,
and it seems to keep. Thanks for that, Mike M.

Thank you for your bug report, could you add your
/var/log/Xorg.0.log.(old) to the bug and add a picture which leads to
the issue? It's not likely an eog issue but rather a video driver one,
what graphic card and driver do you use?

[Bug 1001229] [NEW] wrong icon after last 12.04 update

2012-05-18 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm on 12.04. Power-indicator icon in the upper/menu bar was fine until
yesterday's update. Now, the icon (when battery is fully charged AC
connected) doesn't match the regular Ubuntu/unity/Ayatana indicators
icon style (like if it was the gnome-shell style used instead). I'll
try to put a screenshot later, if needed (I'm not on an Ubuntu machine
right now).

[Bug 973014] Re: gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad, (libgstvideoparsersbad.so), causes a failure to decode many common video files encoded as AVC 1 Baseline - L2.1, Baseline - L1.1 others

2012-05-18 Thread Doug McMahon
For those inclined to build the gst-plugins-bad0.10.22.3-2ubuntu2 source
here is a patch for gsth264parse that seems to work ok here (also has a
small gsth263parse change

Obviously it would be better if someone who knows ( cares) about
gstreamer* took care of this in whatever manner deemed appropriate
