[Bug 958424] Re: [regression] Can't change refresh rate in Displays
I've got this problem too, but in my case, I've got an LCD in which refresh rate should be set at 60hz. However, the OS reverts it to 75Hz at every reboot. I think it can be harmful for my LCD due to overheat and overload. I'd found out that in Xubuntu 12.04 the problem doesn't exist, so I installed it yesterday at this is true. [Bug 1001868] Re: Selecting property file or folder freezing it
Update: Just want to update maybe someone could help me. I have used the procedure (still trying) but the file that I get (gdb-nautilus.txt) doesn't report anything about the error showing up. However I attach one of file I got even the image of error (http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/7262/schems.png) that shows up. Maybe nautilus is not the program that throws the error I don'know. About this problem I can say that happens when I try to look at properties of a file or directory. After the error shows up if I want, using right mouse click, to see the properties I got the window frezzed for about 5 minutes, then it gets back alright as nothing happened. ** Attachment added: gdb-nautilus.txt https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1001868/+attachment/3162410/+files/gdb-nautilus.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001868 Title: Selecting property file or folder freezing it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1001868/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 995014] Re: vlc controls stay after exit full screen
K. The time I reported this, they didn't, as far as I remember, which I feel is correct as the seek bar in the window and the one in these separate controls display different duration. Today, two different things happened: 1 They do work with the video getting re-sized but without any borders or controls attached around it with only these controls remaining from the full screen and the seek bar displaying the correct duration. 2 The video re-sized with no controls at all. (Attached) It does not happen every time. It's kinda tricky. I don't know how it happened the first time, but now, I go full screen, Alt+Tab to Chrome (v 18.0.1025.168), and drag the title bar down... It surely has something to do with Chrome. When I run VLC in full screen and Alt+Tab to a sized window of Chrome and choose maximize it does happen but in kinda background and VLC (still full screen) becomes the active window again... [Bug 1004393] [NEW] dual monitors: ugly mirror resolution, fn-f7 does not propose stretching the desktop over the 2 monitors
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have 2 monitors. On login, Unity gives me the same image on both monitors, in a suboptimal resolution for both (everything is blurry). xrandr gives: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1152 x 864, maximum 8192 x 8192 LVDS1 connected 1152x864+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 303mm x 190mm 1440x900 60.0 + 59.9 50.0 1360x768 59.8 60.0 1152x864 60.0* 1024x768 60.0 800x60060.3 56.2 640x48059.9 VGA1 connected 1152x864+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 430mm x 270mm 1680x1050 60.0 + 1280x1024 75.0 60.0 1152x864 75.0* 1024x768 75.1 60.0 800x60075.0 60.3 640x48075.0 60.0 720x40070.1 Cycling modes with Fn-F7 (this is a Lenovo T410s laptop) gives : - only the right (external) monitor at its optimal resolution - only the left (internal) monitor at its optimal resolution - the above suboptimal mirror. I expect: - that the proposed mirror setup would use the preferred resolution for both monitors, which is possible (see below) - to be proposed a setup with one desktop that takes both monitors (using their preferred resolution) - that the setup chosen by default with my 2 monitors would be a good-looking one (either mirror or stretched with preferred resolutions). This used to work in previous releases (both items), though maybe only for Unity 2D since this it what I was using then. My workaround to get a stretched desktop: /usr/bin/xrandr --output LVDS1 --mode 1440x900 --output VGA1 --mode 1680x1050 --right-of LVDS1 Which gives: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 3120 x 1050, maximum 8192 x 8192 LVDS1 connected 1440x900+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 303mm x 190mm 1440x900 60.0*+ 59.9 50.0 1360x768 59.8 60.0 1152x864 60.0 1024x768 60.0 800x60060.3 56.2 640x48059.9 VGA1 connected 1680x1050+1440+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 430mm x 270mm 1680x1050 60.0*+ 1280x1024 75.0 60.0 1152x864 75.0 1024x768 75.1 60.0 800x60075.0 60.3 640x48075.0 60.0 720x40070.1 And to get a nice-looking mirror desktop: /usr/bin/xrandr --output LVDS1 --mode 1440x900 --output VGA1 --mode 1680x1050 --same-as LVDS1 Which gives: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1680 x 1050, maximum 8192 x 8192 LVDS1 connected 1440x900+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 303mm x 190mm 1440x900 60.0*+ 59.9 50.0 1360x768 59.8 60.0 1152x864 60.0 1024x768 60.0 800x60060.3 56.2 640x48059.9 VGA1 connected 1680x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 430mm x 270mm 1680x1050 60.0*+ 1280x1024 75.0 60.0 1152x864 75.0 1024x768 75.1 60.0 800x60075.0 60.3 640x48075.0 60.0 720x40070.1 Once I have executed one of these workarounds, Fn-F7 cycles through these 2 setups in addition to the ones it does by default. [Bug 1004479] [NEW] printing pdf fails
Public bug reported: Summary: I can't print the attached pdf file using evince in Ubuntu 12.04. The pdf prints fine using epdfviewer. Text documents print fine too. Problem details: When trying to print that pdf using evince the cpu load goes to 100%. The ghostscript (gs) process is the cause of this. When I let it run, it breaks the printer functionality. I've to plug the usb into another port to make the printer print again (printer is attached to a Windows 7 computer). [Bug 837196] Re: Cannot change bluetooth name
So, kind of Triaged for gnome-bluetooth, since it's pretty clear what we're missing is some kind of hostnamed helper for the hostname, which will also affect the bluetooth device name. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control- center/+bug/962369 Also, this happens to demonstrate a bug in bluez, since it doesn't appear to follow the settings in /etc/bluetooth/main.conf; where the rule for the hostname is set.
