[Bug 939301] Re: Chromium and gnome-keyring, no username or password
I have this issue (gnome keyring daemon hogging cpu at login with either Chrome or Chromium) on multiple machines running 12.04. No freezes, just very high cpu usage. Killing the offending process has no obvious ill effects. I'm inclined to think that the Chrome issue pointed out in #4 above, large keyring slow writes, is the cause since I also see this with a Fedora 17 machine when Chrome is fired up. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/939301 Title: Chromium and gnome-keyring, no username or password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-keyring/+bug/939301/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Yes, that is the very dialog. And if I click on the + button then I'll really get a choice of hundreds of layouts, but without extra layouts I need! Workaround for this bug: Click on the port text-box. From now on you don't see what you are doing any more since the + and - buttons are consuming all space. [Bug 122993] Re: ondemand governor does not use maximum frequency under load
asubedi, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Gutsy Gibbon reached EOL on April 18th, 2009. Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases We were wondering if this is still an issue on a supported release? If so, can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command in a supported release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. ** Tags added: gutsy needs-upstream-testing ** No longer affects: gconf (Ubuntu) ** No longer affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) ** No longer affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122993 Title: ondemand governor does not use maximum frequency under load To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/122993/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 379367] Re: Gedit adding a newline at the end of file should be configurable
I don't understand why this behavior is still imposed to the community. A simple option or plugin would allow everyone to enjoy gedit. the argument that having an option for small similar details would rather confuse users than be useful ... gedit will stay simple to use for users doesn't make sense for de following reasons : - Silently adding a newline at the end of the file is not a detail for me. - The Gedit syntax highlighting and features in general make it usefull for a wide audience and programmers too. - Gedit has dozens of expert plugins but none can be done for this issue since the newline is always added at the end. Users should have the choice to be able to configure Gedit to make it save exactly what they write, no more no less. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gedit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379367 Title: Gedit adding a newline at the end of file should be configurable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gedit/+bug/379367/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1010558] [NEW] Can't Disable Custom Keyboard Setting
Public bug reported: I can't disable the default key binding for ControlAltt (Launch Terminal) from gnome-control-center. (Note: I use Ubuntu's Japanese edition, and I merely traslated the menu items into English. They might be worded slightly differently on actual English-edition systems.) Steps to reproduce: 0. mutter-common should be installed for these steps to exhibit the bug. 1. Type gnome-control-center on the command line. 2. Click on Keyboard - Shortcuts - Custom Shortcuts. There should be a binding for Launch Terminal. I wanted to disable this binding. 3. Click on the Launch Terminal line, and dismiss the dialog it pops up. 4. Now click on the - button. The binding will disappear from the list. 5. Close the control center and hit Ctrl-Alt-t in the app of your choice (I used emacs). Expected behavior: terminal should no longer start; the currently focused application should get the keys. gnome-control-center should no longer show the binding that I deleted. Actual behavior: terminal starts; the application doesn't see the keys. If you start gnome-control-center again, you will find that the Launch Terminal shortcut has magically resurrected itself. It is possible to change the keys bound to Launch Terminal, and it is possible to change the action taken when this shortcut is fired. Those changes stick. But removal of the binding is always silently undone. Possible cause: I don't know enough about gconf to say for sure, but it seems like settings introduced in /usr/share/gconf/defaults/* are treated as permanent. This particular problem with Launch Terminal is caused by the setting in /usr/share/gconf/defaults/10_mutter-common. It does not seem to matter whether you use mutter or not; that file hijacks the settings just by being there. Workaround: Uninstall mutter-common. Or, set Launch Terminal to a key that you'll never press, like Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F12. Public bug reported: Hello, With the latest version of RB 2.97-0ubuntu2, the interface freezes at launch. I didn't have this bug with the previous version 2.97-0ubuntu1 but it's a bit strange because it seems the change between the two versions only concerns 'audiocd' plugin (and I have this bug with or without this plugin) If I launch it with this command, I don't have any problem: $ rhythmbox --rhythmdb-file=test.db Maybe my (huge) database is corrupted but if I launch RB with the debug mode (-d), I don't have this bug (but it takes a few time before being ready to use).
