[Bug 984596] Re: problèmes de son

[Bug 987220] Re: System does not power off reliably when Shut Down chosen from GUI
I have the same problem on 6 notebooks in my recent installation of ubuntu 12.04 desktop (either amd64 or i386). Three are mine: Toshiba L640 (i3 box with amd/ati video chip, amd64) acer aoa150 (netbook) acer aod150 (netbook too) Three are on my 3 students: asus (netbook) asus UX31E (i5, new slim notebook, amd64) acer MS2346 (i5, new slim notebook, amd64) Because we seldom (it does succeed sometimes) succeed to shutdown from system menu, now we all rely on alt-f2 sudo poweroff, which is sure to turn off it. p.s. If it fails to finish, it will stay at a high level of power consumption, e.g. My toshiba L640, it will go from 22W to 35W Asus UX31E, it will go from 17W to 29W. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987220 Title: System does not power off reliably when Shut Down chosen from GUI To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-session/+bug/987220/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 987220] Re: System does not power off reliably when Shut Down chosen from GUI
In addition, the ubuntu 12.04 installation iso (i386 or amd64) can't shutdown either: I put the iso in a flash drive: boot by grub4dos, fat32 fs, with casper- rw to save changes. I've used these flash drives (one for i386, one for amd64) to install many laptops (more than 10), but I can never shutdown after finishing installation. [Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed drive
Tried again (as a while passed by and I am currently on 12.04): Still same issue. Clicking eject in Nautilus seems to remove the device correctly, but disk usage analyzer for example still sees it - so that does not completely unmount the drive/device! I consider this a critical issue as I am not always able to eject and in the next seconds find the correct plug - otherwise it is already remounted when I unplug it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792085 Title: Automatic remount of safely removed drive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/792085/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Seconded what Dmitrijs says. Instead of -print sys.stderr, 'ERROR (dkms apport): both -m and -v are required' +print('ERROR (dkms apport): both -m and -v are required', file=sys.stderr) use something like sys.stderr.write('ERROR... required\n') (i. e. add the explicit \n at the end). [Bug 1014068] Re: unable to add a bookmark in nautilus by drag'n'drop -if there are no existing bookmarks.
Thank you for your bug report, the feature of adding bookmarks by dnd got dropped: http://git.gnome.org/browse/nautilus/commit/?id=8151dc038c78c8dfc5106d80217ae3e38491ad61 places-sidebar: allow dropping of files to bookmarks Change the way DnD works in the places sidebar. After this commit, DnD on the bookmarks area will always mean copy/move the DnD source into the bookmark instead of add a bookmark to this location (DnD of bookmark rows in their section will still reorder them), since that's the most common action you want to do. [Bug 1014763] [NEW] evolution deletes spamd socket file when creating new temp files
Public bug reported: After a while, evolution stops using spamassassin for junk mail detection. Here is what happens: 1- Evolution creates spamd socket and pid file in ~/.cache/evolution/tmp with 2- When creating a new temporary directory to open an email attachment, evolution notices that the socket and pid file are more than 2 hours old, and deletes them, breaking spamassassin integration See TEMP_EXPIRE in e-util/e-mktemp.c. The problem is that it's using st.st_atime, but that's no longer getting updated on Ubuntu and/or with ext4. This is my directory before opening an attachment: mdeslaur@mdlinux:~/.cache/evolution/tmp$ ls -al total 24 drwxr-xr-x 5 mdeslaur mdeslaur 4096 Jun 18 12:49 . drwx-- 6 mdeslaur mdeslaur 4096 Apr 10 2011 .. drwx-- 2 mdeslaur mdeslaur 4096 Jun 18 12:49 evolution-mdeslaur-PlMVtk drwx-- 2 mdeslaur mdeslaur 4096 Jun 18 10:40 evolution-mdeslaur-VMPrqC drwx-- 2 mdeslaur mdeslaur 4096 Jun 18 11:14 evolution-mdeslaur-wrcl0C -rw-rw-r-- 1 mdeslaur mdeslaur5 Jun 18 11:13 spamd-pid-file-Y2CYFW srw-rw-rw- 1 mdeslaur mdeslaur0 Jun 18 11:13 spamd-socket-path-UZCYFW This is after opening an attachment at 13:43: mdeslaur@mdlinux:~/.cache/evolution/tmp$ ls -al total 16 drwxr-xr-x 4 mdeslaur mdeslaur 4096 Jun 18 13:43 . drwx-- 6 mdeslaur mdeslaur 4096 Apr 10 2011 .. drwx-- 2 mdeslaur mdeslaur 4096 Jun 18 12:49 evolution-mdeslaur-PlMVtk drwx-- 2 mdeslaur mdeslaur 4096 Jun 18 13:43 evolution-mdeslaur-ws2Jh2 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: evolution 3.2.3-0ubuntu6 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-26.41-generic 3.2.19 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-26-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu9 Architecture: amd64 Date: Mon Jun 18 13:44:41 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal - Alpha amd64 (20110302) SourcePackage: evolution UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-01-03 (166 days ago) ** Affects: evolution Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1014763 Title: evolution deletes spamd socket file when creating new temp files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution/+bug/1014763/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
