[Bug 406414] Re: pidgins appears multiple times in applications tab of sounds preferences
running 10.4, pidgin 2.6.6 (audio method set to Auto) whenever i watch a youtube video (in chrome) and pidgin generates a sound during that movie i dont hear the pidgin sound until after i close the youtube movie (or better, close the chrome tab the video was playing in) once i close the youtube tab it seems that all the pidgin sounds get played all at the same time (like they have been queued but had to wait for the youtube video to stop first) when i open the sound preference - application tab (while i am watching the youtube vid) i can see the number of instances of pidgin increasing (probably with every sound pidgin generates) this issue also frequently mutes the sound of a video when i start it (it does not mute the sound once the vid is playing) to fix this i need to rewind the vid a couple of times and then the video starts with sound -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-media in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406414 Title: pidgins appears multiple times in applications tab of sounds preferences To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-media/+bug/406414/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1019245] [NEW] System Monitor graph fades when enlarging window size beyond a certain size.
Public bug reported: System Monitor graph fades when enlarging window size beyond a certain size in Gnome-shell. I noticed this issue only with ATI cards and when I am using Gnome3 (Gnome-shell). I also noticed that glxgears report (300fps) substantially lower frame rate per second in gnome-shell as appose to when using unity or gnome classic (8000fps). The best way to understand the problem is to see the screen shot images that I attach to this bug report. If I decrease the System Monitor window to almost the minimum, then the graph suddenly become good. I noticed this problem even when I was using ubuntu 11.10 and now with 12.04. I get the following response: $ host 192.168.1.20 20.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer dev.howardwilliams.com. and still can not connect with gvfs-mount using ftp. I needed to do this since I have a web server on my local network at 192.168.1.20 and need to access the hosted web sites using their FQDNs. I have used this setup in past versions of ubuntu (natty and lucid) successfully. [Bug 1018806] Re: GVFS does not resolve to FQDN or IP address
I found the issue causing the error and it does relate to the proxy settings when using 'auto'. In the configuration below, note that org.gnome.system.proxy mode is now set to 'none': org.gnome.system.proxy autoconfig-url '' org.gnome.system.proxy ignore-hosts ['localhost', '127.0.0.0/8'] org.gnome.system.proxy mode 'none' org.gnome.system.proxy use-same-proxy false org.gnome.system.proxy.ftp host '' org.gnome.system.proxy.ftp port 0 org.gnome.system.proxy.http authentication-password '' org.gnome.system.proxy.http authentication-user '' org.gnome.system.proxy.http enabled false org.gnome.system.proxy.http host '' org.gnome.system.proxy.http port 8080 org.gnome.system.proxy.http use-authentication false org.gnome.system.proxy.https host '' org.gnome.system.proxy.https port 0 org.gnome.system.proxy.socks host '' org.gnome.system.proxy.socks port 0 It appears that this resolves the problem. [Bug 1017382] Re: Multi-screen options failure under Gnome Classic
How to trigger. ***WARNING: Save everything before trying this.*** With a Gnome Classic session. There is a 4 screen multi screen selector on the panel at the bottom of the screen organized as 2 rows of 2 screens. It has a preferences dialog acessable via a right click when on an empty space on it. Bring it up. Notice that the number of rows and screens are both 1 and don't match the layout and number of multiscreens on the selector in the pannel. Just change the number of screens to 8, leave the number of rows as 1, likely any number of screens more than one will work. Notice you get a single row of screens shown. Now click on any one of those screens shown other than the currently active one. All of your windows will now vanish as well as the dialog and pannels. Programs are still running. Contrl-Alt-F1 will still bring up the text console you can use to login and kill -HUP your Gnome Classic session. Altenately you can login over the net to do the same. Only workoround I've found sofar is not to change anything in that dialog. For an experiment I did a kill -HUP on gnome-panel rather than the root of the login session and the panels came back, and then clicked on one of the other multi-screens and the same vanishing issue happened again. Also a second hangup killing and gnome-panel was gone. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017382 Title: Multi-screen options failure under Gnome Classic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/1017382/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 994926] Re: empathy accounts not stored
I believe this is a problem with AppArmor in 12.04. I've been using this same setup for a while now, so I don't think it affects previous versions. In /etc/apparmor.d/tunables/home, HOME is rigidly defined as /home/. I put home in /u01/home, it meant that the apparmor profile for Telepathy was broken. It looks like the original reporter has a home directory of /home/JOHNNYPARK/mhouse, which is similar to my case. This means that the apparmor profile in /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.telepathy: /usr/lib/telepathy/mission-control-5 { ... owner @{HOME}/.mission-control/ rw, owner @{HOME}/.mission-control/**rw, ... } Won't cover home directories that don't fit the pattern of /home/username As a workaround for my case, I changed the HOMEDIRS definition to @{HOMEDIRS}=/home/ /u01/home/ in /etc/apparmor.d/tunables/home. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994926 Title: empathy accounts not stored To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/empathy/+bug/994926/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1019341] [NEW] Seahorse GUI does not display additional-identity email information on PGP keys
Public bug reported: There seems to be a difference from 11.04 (which I last used). In 12.04, the PGP key system can have its keys handled via Seahorse. in 11.04, you could expand a key if it has multiple sub-identities and email addresses on the key, or you could view the email addresses and comments on that sub-identity, as well as see the primary key information. This is not the case in 12.04. While you can expand the key, you cannot see what email addresses or comments are tied to those sub ids. This makes adding additional emails/etc. to the keys, and determining which one is the primary key. When you have two IDs on the same key, its not a problem, but when you have three or four, it becomes troublesome. -- STEPS TO REPRODUCE: (1) In 12.04, open seahorse. (2) Go to Personal Keys (3) Either create or import a complete key (including private keys), where that key has multiple names and signatures on it. (DO BOTH 4A AND 4B!) (4a) Open the key's properties, go to the names and signatures tab. There will be listed first names, but no email information or comments. (4b) In the Personal Keys tab, you will see an arrow next to a multi- name key. Click that to expand. You will see the other names on the key, but no email information about those other names. [Bug 1019356] [NEW] [Dell Inspiron One 2305]: Internal MIC hardware is not shown in sound menu.
Public bug reported: [Dell Inspiron One 2305]: Internal MIC is not recognized. Alsamixer shows internal mic, and sound level can be augmented. However there is no internal audio hardware found in sound settings in order to test microphone. I was able to use sound recorder without a problem. [Bug 1019364] [NEW] vinagre menu is hidden when host screen too smal
Public bug reported: I ran vinagre 3.4.2 on a laptop running 1280x1024 resolution to connect to a desktop that was running on 1600x1200 dual monitors at an effective resolution of 3200x1200. The vinagre menu that is supposed to appear at the top center of the display appears to be centered on the virtual desktop, and this is not visible on my physical display. Actually, when I put the mouse at the very top right, I can see a thin white line which is the left most pixels of the menu and I can move over that and click to exit full screen. This menu should be centered on the host display, not centered on the remote (virtual) display, so that it is always visible. ** Affects: vinagre (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: vinagre -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vinagre in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1019364 Title: vinagre menu is hidden when host screen too smal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vinagre/+bug/1019364/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
