[Bug 1033869] [NEW] Cannot select by clicking text in zenity --list -radiolist

This is inconsistent with how radio buttons generally work, and might wreak havoc (power user clicks and hits Enter, only to realize too late that the click didn't do anything). (Oh, but Enter doesn't worjk as expected, either. Still, a plausible scenario; click label, click OK.) [Bug 1015370] Re: when opening a file using gedit, an unwanted blank document tab also opens
I can reproduce this by running gksu gedit after pressing Alt-F2 from an Ubuntu Studio session. This opens gedit with an untitled document that is already flagged as modified. Running gksu gedit (or sudo gedit) from bash in the xfce terminal emulator produces the expected behaviour: an untitled document that is not yet flagged as modified. [Bug 1033904] Re: memory leak in gnome-keyring-daemon
Seriously. Are you folks really that bitter about this Mint thing? I know you know that Mint is nothing more than Ubuntu Linux with usable desktops (i.e. Cinnamon and MATE), for those people that find your tablet-izing Unity desktop simply unusable. Heck, Mint is not even a fork but simply a layer of packages on top of Ubuntu Linux -- really, no different than installing a bunch of packages out of a PPA. We do reject report coming from ppa users (including the official GNOME3 ppa) yes, we don't have the resources to try to figure what might happen with non supported combinaison Did you miss the part above where I said in relation to PPAs unrelated packages. Of course I don't expect you to look at packages that come form PPAs and I never insinuated that I do. I clearly said unrelated packages. Or is this just an excuse? If Mint was not a fork They are not a fork. Really though, how is them adding a repository for their packages, layering on top of Ubuntu any different than adding a PPA anyway. Sure, they might have decided to put a bunch more polish and marketing around it, but surely you cannot really say that the additional mint repository that one adds to Ubuntu to get mint is really any different than adding a PPA. So any package in a Ubuntu installation with modified configuration files is automatically Invalid? those are modified conffiles Yes. conffiles. conffiles are meant to be modified. That's the *entire* point of them being conffiles. Depends what you call the right thing, I'm going to focus on supporting Ubuntu users and let the Mint team supports their users, it seems only fair? Why would forking and not assuming the responsability which come with the fork be right? [Bug 1033904] Re: memory leak in gnome-keyring-daemon
@Brian: sorry but I don't want to turn that bug report into an argumentation, in all fairness if there is an issue it's probably an upstream GNOME one in any case rather than a MInt or Ubuntu one so it might be better to directly report it to GNOME To give a short reply to your comments: I've too much to do and enough bugs that are clearly Ubuntu ones, I'm not interested in going out of my way to support users of a distribution that doesn't contribute back any fixes to their upstreams nor support their users directly. (Ubuntu is not perfect but we do handle bugs from our users and don't send them to Debian directly and we do send patches back to Debian) It's just a convenient reason to close a bug report without actually doing anything. I don't need a convenient reason to, we receive bugs in a magnitude order over what we can deal with, so 90% of the bugs get triaged and sit there (or don't get triaged at all), this bug is just one of those we don't have time (nor people knowing that codebase) to take care of it. My position remain though that I will focus on Ubuntu users and I don't intend to get out of my way to support Mint or their users until they start being good citizen and engage with us at least to let us know what changes they are doing to our packages (that informations is pretty hard to find, it took us a while to figure how they change the firefox user agent string for example) and start contributing some of their fixes back to Ubuntu (or work with us to get their issues resolved at the right place) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1033904 Title: memory leak in gnome-keyring-daemon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-keyring/+bug/1033904/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 408903] Re: Does not handle microphone mute button (KEY_MICMUTE)
Okay, I've created some test packages. Please keep in mind these are only test packages, I haven't even sent upstream yet. To get around the complications with keycodes over 248 I've remapped to the F20 key, which most keyboards don't have. We've been using the Function keys for this purpose for a while now, for example, touchpadtoggle events are F21. Please let me know if there are any dependencies missing. [Bug 1034090] [NEW] Hotkeys not functional after upgrade to quantal
Public bug reported: After upgrading from 12.04 to 12.10, none of the hotkeys/media keys on my keyboard are no longer functional. Specifically, the brightness up/dn, volume up/dn/mute, keyboard backlight up/dn/off keys and the media control keys (rew/play/ff) don't work perform the expected functions. [Bug 986269] [NEW] Unable to open a folder for 10 GB Filesystem, No application is registered as handling this file... or Nautilus pops browser when partition is mounted in bash script
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I first noticed this behaviour in Ubuntu 11.10. When I run my bash script that mounts partitions on my hard drive (e.g /dev/sda5), Nautilus pops up with a browser window. This is an illogical action, since I've not 'inserted a drive', it's already there, and it's just been manually mounted. This Nautilus action will interfere with the scripts operation since, when the script tries to unmount the drive (rapidly) it finds that Nautilus is still busy with it, producing it's browser window. If I run chmod 700 on the mountpoint prior to mounting (root only access), then I get a popup message stating: Unable to open a folder for 10 GB Filesystem, No application is registered as handling this file. This is because the mountpoint is not accessible to the logged in user. You wouldn't expect this if you mount a partition from the terminal - and for the most part this is correct (Nautilus does nothing), but not all the time. I've managed to trigger Nautilus to pop just with a simple terminal mount. I have a workaround in my bash script that creates a udev rule and runs udevadm trigger to hide the partition, but this seems extreme. I believe it's a bug in Unity(?) (maybe Nautilus?) in how it responds to the signal that a partition has been mounted. Please see this for complete details and discussion of possible solutions (and the bash script code): http://askubuntu.com/questions/121569/prevent-nautilus-showing- partition-mounted-in-bash-script I understand you can prevent Nautilus responding to inserted drives etc., but this is definitely not the case here - the drive is already there, just the partition is being mounted. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Unable to open a folder for 10 GB Filesystem, No application is registered as handling this file... or Nautilus pops browser when partition is mounted in bash script https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/986269 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1034080] Re: no About menu item
I'm not sure yet, I'm leaning toward shipping both version in the archive for quantal with 3.4 on the CD and discussing at UDS the way forward based on the feedback nautilus 3.6 and other filemanagers got. Looking around us elementary os has its own filemanager (marlin, written in vala), mint just started their own project nemo which is a fork of nautilus 3.4 ... we might decide to follow GNOME, try joining efforts with the marlin or nemo team to maintain a full featured file manager or maintain our own filemanager (less likely at this point, that's not a topic which was raised before) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1034080 Title: no About menu item To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/1034080/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
