[Bug 892907] Re: Gnomine is lagging hard, not playable.

2012-10-08 Thread Mark C. Mason
 - this is not a show stopper however!

Unfortunately, that's pure Bull-youknowwhat. Here's why:

1. People who like to play it, play against the clock. No way to approach old
scores.
2. It's just not fun any more.

Fix it. Or let it die a natural death.

@Simon, everything but Off (in either direction) should be supported
by gnome sound settings. Last UDS we decided that the Off profile should
be supported too, but nobody has implemented it yet.

Is there a full duplex profile you still can't set with an 12.04
installation and all updates installed?

[Bug 1035219] Re: In System Settings preference tool/keyboard layouts page automaticaly wrong language selectedGNOME

2012-10-08 Thread Margarita Manterola
Hi,

I tested the patch and it indeed solves the same issue for me.
However, the solution is only to not display the Language window at all.
What was wrong with the Language window that it didn't pre-select the
current selected language? I think that fixing that behaviour would be
better, since it doesn't remove functionality as the proposed patch
does.

[Bug 1063682] [NEW] Screensaver settings GUI is confusing

2012-10-08 Thread Jonathan Davies
Public bug reported:

The settings GUI for screensaver settings is confusing.

Right now, I see:

- Turn off the screen after:
- Lock the screen after:

Lock the screen has an option for After screen lock, and time
internals.

It never states that it'll start the countdown for the lock AFTER the
screen's been turned off.

There's also an option in the lock drop-down for Screen turns off. The
lock part's string should be changed to:

Lock the screen after screen turns off and idle for: Immediate, 30
seconds, etc.

2012-10-08 Thread Laurent Bonnaud
Note that running any of the following commands does work:

  yelp help:gnome-help
  yelp help:gnome-help

I thing that the bug comes from this line:

  390: if (strcmp(getenv(XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP), GNOME))

because in my session (KDE) the XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP environment variable is not
set.
getenv() returns a NULL pointer and strcmp() crashes.

[Bug 1063691] [NEW] libglib2.0-dev does not include GLib's systemtap probe definitions

2012-10-08 Thread saepia
Public bug reported:

libglib2.0-dev does not include GLib's systemtap probe definitions, so
it is impossible to perform GLib debugging using systemtap.

Basically it means that /usr/share/systemtap/tapset/gobject.stp is
missing (there is no package that provides such file).

On Fedora, it comes as part of glib*-devel.

[Bug 1055128] [NEW] private-chat-$UUID rooms are created with default (i.e. public) settings

2012-10-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

In case the XMPP server supports MUC, empathy will create the room

[Bug 1063716] [NEW] simple gdm greeter unresponsive mouse

2012-10-08 Thread kenn
Public bug reported:

I have ZorinOS 5.2 version of Natty 64 bit (Ubuntu). I set up 5 seconds
delayed autologin, while starting-up, mouse is freezing on simple gdm
greeter and I can't move pointer on the screen till desktop is loaded, I
inserted 30 seconds of sleep in the script at /etc/gdm/Init/default, delayed
login works but it also keeps me waiting 30 seconds on every logout. I hope
you help me.

[Bug 971051] Re: no alt+tab in gnome classic session

2012-10-08 Thread Mikko Pesari
Thanks Arnulf, I made another workaround based on your tip.

We already distributed the file /usr/share/gconf/defaults/99-our-
defaults to workstations, so we can just override the default
active_plugins specified in 10_compiz-gnome.

That file in turn comes from the package compiz-gnome and I think the
package defaults should include staticswitcher.

2012-10-08 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Hey ubuntu-security, could somebody in your team look at that? I guess
it's a change similar to the one done to other sources recently

e.g adding

owner /{,var/}run/user/*/dconf/ w,
owner /{,var/}run/user/*/dconf/user rw,

to the profile, but I would prefer to have somebody who knows apparmor
better than me to confirm before doing that

[Bug 120251] Re: security check failed

2012-10-08 Thread Dave
I'm getting this problem with 3.9.90

It happens when ekiga is idle for a while.
If I disable/re-enable the account it starts working again.
I am in voice group.
I am using my own asterisk server for sip provider/proxy.

I don't know if there are any settings in asterisk that will help(?)

[Bug 1063782] [NEW] Mouse pointer speed settings have no effect

2012-10-08 Thread Alex Whitman
Public bug reported:

Changes in both the Acceleration and Sensitivity options have no effect
on the speed of the pointer. The pointer moves at the same speed with
the Acceleration slider set to both the minimum and maximum values. I
would expect the pointer speed to change when changing these settings.

I'm using a Logitech MX510 USB mouse.

[Bug 891043] Re: evince does not print PDF document correctly

2012-10-08 Thread baltasarq
Yes, it still happening as reported:

Linux pcjbgarcia 3.2.0-32-generic-pae #51-Ubuntu SMP Wed Sep 26 21:54:23 UTC
2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Evince reports version Document Viewer 3.4.0

Cups reports CUPS 1.5.3 through its web interface.
Cups does correctly report about the printer: Brother HL-5250DN series Brother
HL-5250DN BR-Script3 , Postscript-Brother 20101122 (OpenPrinting LSB 3.2)

Again, this only happens with Evince, I do always print with LibreOffice
without problems.

Thanks.

[Bug 1063822] [NEW] Ctrl+Alt+L and Ctrl+Alt+Del have no effect

2012-10-08 Thread Alex Whitman
Public bug reported:

I would expect Ctrl+Alt+L to lock the screen and Ctrl+Alt+Del to log out
except neither happen. Both shortcuts are set in the keyboard shortcut
settings and used to work up until today. The last dist-upgrade
performed on this computer was probably on Friday 28th September so a
change between then and now appears to have broken the functionality.
