[Bug 556632] Re: Visual effects during audio playback should be disabled by default on arm

2013-02-15 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect bug # and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

[Bug 1004515] Re: segfault in accounts-daemon when logging in

2013-02-15 Thread chambault cedric
Well got a news to help noobs like me !

I just installed these 2 packages from Debian Sid (unstable) in this
order :

dpkg -i libaccountsservice0_0.6.21-8_i386.deb
dpkg -i accountsservice_0.6.21-8_i386.deb

The 2 packages easily replace the packages from ubuntu, and so far there
is no side effect and the best :

No more Segfault violation.

I still keep any other packages (pam, gdm, etc ...) from the ubuntu
12.04.

Hope it helps.

[Bug 1125996] [NEW] Evince mis-print a PDF file (which prints ok with lpr or okular)

2013-02-15 Thread Romano Giannetti
Public bug reported:

Evince incorrectly print some PDFlatex documents.

Sometimes evince misprints PDF documents produced by pdflatex (at least,
not checked with different sources).

For example, in the included tar.gz file, you have a simple PDF with just
one equation. The LaTeX source file is beta.tex, and the file produced
by pdflatex is pdflatex-beta (obtained by running:

pdflatex beta; mv beta.pdf pdflatex-beta.pdf

).

If I visualize the file with evince and print it --- either on a printer
or on the CUPS PDF printer, same results, so I add the CUPS PDF printer
generated files --- the files is mis-printed, with the beta symbol misaligned.
Notice that the file is correctly visualized by evince, with the symbol in its
correct place.

If I print the file opening it with okular, or directly from command-line
with lpr pdflatex-beta.pdf, the output is correct.

Attached to this report a tar.gz file with:
- the source LaTeX file, beta.tex
- the resulting PDF file, pdflatex-beta.pdf
- the result of printing with evince, pdflatex-beta_printed_by_evince.pdf
- the result of printing with okularm, pdflatex-beta-printed_by_okular.pdf

As I told, the errors shows exactly in the same form if I print the file
to a physical printer.

** Affects: evince (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Attachment added: Files showing the bug; content described in the report.

Thanks Pawel. Unfortunately 8.04 has been out of support for some time
now. You may consider upgrading to 10.04, it is not so different from
8.04 and it has a lot of upgrades, but it will also go out of support by
April 2013. If you want to stick with 8.04 then I'm afraid you'll have
 to live with the bug.

[Bug 1110498] Re: [raring] GNOME System Monitor leaks memory

2013-02-15 Thread Alin Andrei
No response? It's pretty serious...

I'm attaching a valrgind log, but please note that I've only let GNOME
System Monitor run for a few minutes because it kept my CPU close to
100% and the CPU temperature was getting close to 100C.

The keyboard was easily paired with another laptop with a partition running
stock 12.04 (just the release - no updates) Happy to help debug this :-)

[Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share

2013-02-15 Thread Kanehekili
I'd like to second apinunit (comment #36) that the cifs solution is a
workaround. But the GNOME people do NOT seem to be interested in
solutions that kind. They're dreaming of a tablet gnome, disregarding
the wishes of their users... So for me it looks like that GNOME is
dying, which is a shame... Did anybody woke up there and questioned, why
so many user are switching to Linux Mint and other Distros? So I do not
expect that the fuse problem will be fixed - and being used to OO
Languages I'm simply incapable browsing thru a badly documented C-Code.
I appreciate and respect the work the guys do at Debian, Red Hat and
Ubuntu, but thats beyond my capabilities...
