[Bug 792265] Re: BraseroDvdcss could not retrieve key
I believe I'm having the same problem on Ubuntu Quantal. While trying to rip a DVD image, Brasero fails with the error message, Error while retrieving a key used for encryption. I am able to rip the same disc just fine using dd if=/dev/sr0, so I know it's not a problem with my drive. Brasero's error message suggests that I set DVDCSS_METHOD=title and try again, which I did, but it still failed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to brasero in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792265 Title: BraseroDvdcss could not retrieve key To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/792265/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1160847] Re: gvfs should not attempt to mount MTP devices in an endless loop (cluttering your desktop with messages)
So, after some research: 1) gvfs is not responsible for automounting. It emits events when devices appear and responds to requests to mount devices. As such, gvfs is not responsible for deciding whether to give up on mount attempts or not. 2) Instead, I believe the heavy lifting is done by gnome-settings- daemon. 3) It respects a config key at /org/gnome/desktop/media- handling/automount. If this key is set to false, then no attempts will be made to auto-mount devices. So, it seems you have a few options. A) Note that the libmtp detect rule which catches android devices is not based on ID. It runs a program called mtp-probe that checks the USB interfaces exposed by the device. I feel certain that you can configure the USB interfaces published by the device to exclude MTP if you don't support it. Normal android devices must be able to do this if they use UMS instead of MTP. B) You can turn off automounting if you're just worried about your development workflow. C) You can file a g-s-d bug and ask them to implement some sort of back- off failure handling policy. Thanks! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1160847 Title: gvfs should not attempt to mount MTP devices in an endless loop (cluttering your desktop with messages) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1160847/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share
This is issue is really a Show Stopper for the general user population. A problem with no easy work-around and the lack of attention there has been in resolving it. Functionality of heavy\large folder transfers via network shares is a very basic expectation. And, if the problem is not a Nautilus bug, that's even worse, as it says the core OS is faulty. [Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share
@ C Jenkins There have been three updates to the gvfs packages in Raring this week. We cannot know if this issue is being directly addressed or it is just natural trickle down. The bug remains unassigned so the obvious conclusion is that the updates are coming from upstream somewhere. We all agree this is a very serious issue, and it needs to be fixed in older versions as well. If no one is fixing Quantal then all we can do is push on to Raring and hope. My Raring Gnome Shell is now stable although the updates keep coming and the release is now only a few weeks away. Finally, for me - but apparently not everyone, the issue is fixed in Raring with the caveat that I run Gnome Shell not Unity. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075923 Title: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1075923/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1158594] Re: Video is too yellow/bright, as if a grossly exaggerated gamma transform is applied (raring regression)
I think I've discovered mostly what had gone wrong - somehow in the process of going quantal-raring, either the various colour balance settings in totem got changed, or it changed how it interpreted the numerical values in dconf. When I dug around in dconf-editor, I found various colour-related settings under org.gnome.Totem, which, once reset to defaults, caused my display issue to go away. The problem was exacerbated by bug 1162389 - the totem preferences dialog has become inaccessible - hence why I had to resort to dconf- editor to change them. Thus, this bug becomes a question of how a visually sensible colour configuration on quantal ended up looking wrong after upgrading to raring. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1158594 Title: Video is too yellow/bright, as if a grossly exaggerated gamma transform is applied (raring regression) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/1158594/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
