[Bug 859600] Re: Please convert gnome-keyring to multiarch

2013-04-05 Thread Dmitry Shachnev
Thanks for the patch, I have two comments about it though:

- d/control is autogenerated, please modify d/control.in instead;
- shouldn't usr/bin be removed from gnome-keyring.install now that you moved
it to -bin package?

[Bug 1164939] [NEW] Google Talk account in empathy refuses to sign in

2013-04-05 Thread Tom Simnett
Public bug reported:

I've got 3 Google accounts in my online accounts. Empathy refuses to
sign in with them citing Google Talk account requires authorisation
for all three. However, on clicking the button that opens Online
Accounts, nothing abnormal shows. Switching the account off, then back
on has no impact. There is no option to reauth the accounts, which
sometimes appears - when it does, I get the google login screen and then
it works, usually until the next reboot.

http://pastebin.com/RNHDKfSx is the pastebin of the Auth log from

[Bug 1140120] [NEW] Installing gnome-bluetooth generates errors and contradictory installation status info

2013-04-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When I try to install gnome-ubuntu by clicking the relevant entry in the
Ubuntu Software Center, I get a first dialog with the following error
about failed dependencies:

Dettagli

I seguenti pacchetti presentano dipendenze non soddisfatte:

gnome-bluetooth:i386: Depends: gir1.2-gnomebluetooth-1.0 (= 3.6.0-0ubuntu1) ma
3.6.0-0ubuntu1 sta per essere installato
  Depends: bluez (= 4.36) ma 4.101-0ubuntu6 sta per essere
installato
  Depends: udev (= 154) ma 175-0ubuntu13 sta per essere
installato

I also get a second dialog notifying an internal error and offering to
report it, but accepting the reporting option does nothing.

gnome-bluetooth is listed as not installed in Ubuntu Software Center.
When I try to install gnome-bluetooth from a shell, I get the
contradictory information that the package is already installed:

paolo@clavius:~$ sudo apt-get install gnome-bluetooth
[sudo] password for paolo:
Lettura elenco dei pacchetti... Fatto
Generazione albero delle dipendenze
Lettura informazioni sullo stato... Fatto
gnome-bluetooth è già alla versione più recente.
I seguenti pacchetti sono stati installati automaticamente e non sono più
richiesti:
  dkms libasprintf0c2:i386 libcroco3:i386 libgettextpo0:i386 libgomp1:i386
libunistring0:i386 linux-headers-3.5.0-17 nvidia-settings python-xkit

[Bug 311614] Re: If DPI in X != DPI in Gnome, document dimensions are not true at 100% zoom

2013-04-05 Thread Germán Poo-Caamaño
This might be a bug in screenruler. If I change the DPI of the screen
and the document is set to 100% (representing physical size), then, the
document should change its size. That is, if the document is A4 and I
put an actual A4 sheet on top of the screen, changing the DPI should not
change the document size.

Nevertheless, the 100% zoom of evince 3.8 is slightly wider in my screen
in 3.8 (not smaller)

[Bug 1165131] [NEW] Raring: gedit embedded terminal has unreadable white on gray text

2013-04-05 Thread Adam Dingle
Public bug reported:

On Raring, gedit's embedded terminal (enabled via the Embedded Terminal

On Fedora the embedded terminal in the same version of gedit looks fine.
I think this is probably an Ambiance theming issue.

[Bug 1072518] [NEW] Restarting network crashes (apparently) the desktop manager

2013-04-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

The unity UI and windows decorations dissappear when I do one of the
following:

sudo restart networking

or

sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart.

This renders me unable to focus any of the open windows with
mouse/keyboard, leaving the system unusable. I have to drop to terminal
(CTRL-ALT-F2) and do a sudo reboot.

I am not sure what parts of the desktop are going down, so I posted this

information as needed.

[Bug 1072518] Re: Restarting network crashes (apparently) the desktop manager

2013-04-05 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
gnome-settings-daemon indeed crashes in that case, which breaks a load
of things, including the desktop manager in general.

The reason for this is that when you restart the networking job, it
kills off the system dbus bus, which brings down quite a lot of stuff
with it.

[Bug 1072518] Re: Restarting network crashes (apparently) the desktop manager

2013-04-05 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
If you're looking to restart network-manager, you'll want to do 'sudo
restart network-manager', not 'sudo restart networking'.

If you're making changes to /etc/network/interfaces, running ifup -a
will usually suffice to apply the changes. (or you can ifdown
interface, then ifup interface.

[Bug 1156477] Re: lenovo thinkpad t530 brightness keys regression

2013-04-05 Thread Seth Arnold
On Fri 5 April 2013, the brightness keys _almost_ work -- if the
Brightness slider in the System Settings | Brightness Lock is moved
to roughly 2/3 of the brightness, the keyboard brightness keys can
control _some_ of the brightness. It is still not as granular as 12.04
LTS or 12.10, and full brightness and full dimness are impossible, but I
finally have some amount of keyboard control over brightness again.

Did I make a mistake when I assigned this bug to gnome-control-center?
I'm a bit surprised that no one has asked for logs or edid info or
anything else about my system to try to debug this regression.

Thanks

 - d/control is autogenerated, please modify d/control.in instead;

I only altered control.in, however, I believe d/control was auto-updated
during the source package build.

 - shouldn't usr/bin be removed from gnome-keyring.install now that
you moved it to -bin package?

Nice catch Ill fix that up and re-submit.

[Bug 890647] Re: .gvfs: Transport endpoint is not connected

2013-04-05 Thread diver
i was very excited to add this and that is why i posted sort of half baked
solution hoping that you can figure out the rest.
to be fair I have to add the complete (working oob solution) rather than just
variable evaluation.

1) the existing mount point needs to be disconnected. because it is
session based you want to add unmount line to Default gdm PostSession
and below is one of the ways to do accomplish it:

cat  EOF | sudo tee /etc/gdm/PostSession/Default /dev/null
#!/bin/sh

/bin/fusermount -zu $HOME/.gvfs 1/dev/null 21 || true

exit 0
EOF

2) create ~/bin directory (mkdir ~/bin), add this directory to search path in
/etc/environment so it looks roughly like this:
PATH=/home/username/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/home/username/.local/bin

3) .bashrc gets the following entry
$HOME/bin/gvfs-daemon-start

4) make gvfs-daemon-start executable and the script roughly it looks
like this:

#!/bin/bash
MNT=.gvfs
PIDOF=`pidof gvfs-fuse-daemon`
RETVAL=$?

if [ $RETVAL -eq 1 ]; then
  # echo Mounting $MNT
  log_daemon_msg Mouting $MNT
  /usr/lib/gvfs//gvfs-fuse-daemon ~/$MNT
  log_end_msg 0
else
  echo you be fortune.
fi

5)log off the session, log back in and make necessary adjustments if you
feel like it.

cheers
