[Bug 1168467] Re: phy0 - rt2800pci_mcu_status: Error AND [drm:gen6_sanitize_pm] *ERROR*

2013-04-22 Thread Václav Pavlík
Hi,

I have just one little question before installing (double clicking in
Nautilus seems to be working). I have 64 bit arch and this is Linux
kernel image for version 3.3.6 on 32 bit x86 SMP. Is it all right?

Thanks
V.

Partially solved adding acpi_backlight=vendor to /etc/default/grub:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash acpi_backlight=vendor
thanks to http://www.chimerarevo.com/ubuntu-tasti-fn-notebook-luminosita/

[Bug 1171394] [NEW] search fails when using wildcard (*.* or *.jpg...)

2013-04-22 Thread Ibrahim-hammad
Public bug reported:

When trying to locate certain file(s) of specific feature such as the
extension of the file in any folder, using wildcard such as *.* or *.jpg
or dot any extension, the result will be a blank search page !

This goes for folders under the partition of ubuntu and for any folder
in the windows partition if activated from the Ubuntu environment.

Expected: When searching for a certain file extension the search windows
after processing should come up with the result of list of files
required or a message that no file(s) found.

what happens: the system will start searching showing the search working
note, then the search page is remained blanck after finish with no
result or a note that no files found.

[Bug 1169307] Re: compare, dropbox, rename: none working

2013-04-22 Thread Dominik Wujastyk
I found that if I downloaded nautilus-renamer from

https://launchpad.net/nautilus-renamer (v.4.0)

instead of the older version offered at it's official home at

http://gtk-apps.org/content/show.php/Renamer?content=87601

then it works with Nautilus 3.6

I've also re-installed Dropbox v2.0.5 from the dropbox.com website and
it now works in Nautilus 3.6. I've just upgraded to the pre-release
Dropbox v2.1.11, and that is also working with Nautilus 3.6.

Finally, I still haven't had success with nautilus-compare, even though
it's tagged as being for Raring.

Best,
Dominik

[Bug 1170164] Re: can't switch input method at all

2013-04-22 Thread B Bobo
** Description changed:

Normally gnome-terminal allows the user to switch the input method by
  pressing a special key combination.

Sometimes gnome-terminal gets into a state where it seems to ignore the
special key combination for switching the input method in ibus - it is
permanently locked in the default input method for English. There is no
clear pattern of usage or trigger for when it happens.

  1. The problem is not solved by resetting the terminal using the menu
Terminal - Reset, or Terminal - Reset and Clear
  2. The problem is also not solved even by starting a new gnome-terminal from
the menu, File - Open Terminal - Default
  3. However, using the command-line to start a new terminal with the factory
disabled does make input method switching work again: gnome-terminal
--disable-factory but doing this obviously loses all the session information
in the previous gnome-terminal.
+ 4. Also, when the problem occurs, opening a new tab re-enables the input mode
to be switched in the new tab as well as in the original tab. However, the
problem usually re-occurs soon in the original tab.

This has been happening in all versions of Ubuntu since 10.04 until
12.04.02 precise, with gnome-terminal up to and including version
  3.4.1.1-0ubuntu1 and ibus version 1.4.1-3ubuntu1

This is a really annoying bug.

[Bug 1171519] [NEW] gdm disregards /etc/gdm/custom.conf exclude user list

2013-04-22 Thread Nick Blais
Public bug reported:

Running on:
Description:Ubuntu 13.04
Release:13.04-BETA2
(Ubuntu Gnome, 64-bit)

In /etc/gdm/custom.conf, I have the following config:
[greeter]
# Only include selected logins in the greeter
IncludeAll = false

which should remove the user list from the login screen. Unfortuantely
it doesn't work. Also adding a specific Exclude for each user will not
work.

The only fix right now is to have this file:
/etc/dconf/db/gdm.d/01-local-settings

###
# local system-wide customizations

[org/gnome/login-screen]
disable-user-list=true
###

then running dconf update.

only have HDMI jack

it is quite confusing that alsamixer show spdif playback switch in

Upstream approval is absolutely required here. In any case, it looks
like NautilusDesktopBackground has been removed in 3.7. Would someone
that uses multiple screens please try version 3.7 to see if it fixes the
problem? And then maybe we can backport the changes and SRU in to the
other releases:

[Bug 1171394] Re: search fails when using wildcard (*.* or *.jpg...)

2013-04-22 Thread Nate
I may be wrong, but it seems like you can get the results you're after
by searching .jpg if you want to see all the .jpg files. The * seems
unnecessary, even though it's usage is very widespread in other
computer-related searches. Am I misunderstanding the situation?

[Bug 1161650] [NEW] adding music, graphicsally issue in playlist

2013-04-22 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

when i add music (not an import!, just indexing it), in the listbox that
lists all the songs, will add very strange values on it, all items will
have text like chinese or everytime the same song that does really
exist. but after the import and scrolling a bit, everything is fine.

to reproduce:

1. add an ntfs partition to windows

2. put some music on it in the D:\media\music location

3. install ubuntu and open rhythmbox

4. in the menu on unitys panel choose 'add music' and choose your music
directery from the nfts drive

5. watch your listbox (that fills somewhat the whole window. if you dont
know what kind of list i mean.)

[Bug 1158710] Re: Hardware buttons doesn't adjust monitor brightness

2013-04-22 Thread Nate
I seem to have a similar issue on a Toshiba Portege R830, except neither
the hardware shortcuts nor the Brighness adjuster in System Settings
change the screen brightness. When using the hardware shortcuts and when
adjusting through Brightness and Lock both slider bars register
changes, but no change is seen.

[Bug 1160441] Re: Calendar is still in English despite French is selected as the Language during the installation

2013-04-22 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
@psivaa: So you meant indicator-datetime, after all. That's what I first
thought. ;-)

It's strange that the indicator-datetime version in my PPA doesn't fix
the issue for you. It works fine for me, and the reporter of bug 1072019
just confirmed that it works for him.

Actually, Screen_1.jpg does not confirm the issue you say you have. Even
if some folders in your $HOME have French names, the current locale
might have been changed since your user was created. What does the
command

  locale

in a terminal window output?

[Bug 802466] Re: shotwell doesn't work with google's 2-step verification

2013-04-22 Thread David Ireland
Adding a save password feature for use with application passwords is not
'hacky'. compromising on the security of my Google accounts by disabling
two factor authentication is not advice I'm going to take. All the big
account providers are offering two factor authentication, so this
suggestion borders on absurd.

It's now been nearly two years since the this was reported and the
proposed solution is '50%' finished. The proposed solution will offer
little additional benefit over saving the password as far as I am
concerned.

[Bug 802466] Re: shotwell doesn't work with google's 2-step verification

2013-04-22 Thread Lucas Beeler
Hi David,

It's now been nearly two years since the this was reported and the
 proposed solution is '50%' finished.

By 50% finished, do you mean that the Picasa Connector uses OAuth but
the YouTube Connector, as yet, does not? About this, I can only say that
we're working on it. Keep in mind that we at Yorba (the upstream
developers of Shotwell) have very limited resources. On the upside, the
YouTube OAuth migration may be something that gets done within the next
few weeks. We've prioritized the development of this feature because
we're not sure how long the legacy ClientLogin API we've been using will
still function.

Lucas

Is also an issue for me. The progress bar goes straight to just shy of

works reasonably well :-(

will flush the cache and force it to write to the usb drive.

2013-04-22 Thread florin
Actually Backspace does not do the GO-BACK action, it does GO-
UP-A-FOLDER. It is different and a lot more convenient when working
inside folders, I use it a lot more often that going back to previous
folder as it is there on the keyboard and I can press it with just one
finger.

[Bug 975636] Re: Trouble setting library location to Pictures/Photos

2013-04-22 Thread Jim Nelson
We'v e been unable to reproduce this since it was reported, although we
have some suspicion that the GConf to GSettings conversion is behind
some of the reported problems.

I noticed you're running Shotwell 0.12.3. That's quite old and a great
deal of bug work has been done in the interim. I recommend upgrading to
0.14.1, available on the Yorba PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~yorba/+archive/ppa

2013-04-22 Thread Laurent Dinclaux
Great, congrat! Now it is maybe time to backport the fix to the latest
LTS.

I can't imagine LTS users not being able to work in an enterprise
environment, for five years

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:

 Bug description:
When trying to locate certain file(s) of specific feature such as the

This goes for folders under the partition of ubuntu and for any folder

Expected: When searching for a certain file extension the search
